Headscratchers / Contrast

• So apparently there are long stretches of time where Didi doesn't see Dawn. (She mentions not seeing her for three weeks and her missing her birthday and it sounds like this is a regular thing.) So... where does she go during that time? Just taking some time out to do her own thing for a while?
  • Maybe Dawn's return coincides with Vincenzo being in town, since she is his assistent after all. She looks after Didi but it might not be a full time job.
• Why are there random areas where roads, etc seem to be floating over a foggy void, a la World of Warcraft Outland? Was there any explanation of this, and I just missed it? I thought it was supposed to be the real world she was seeing without the people, but suddenly pow, abyss.
