  • If Frank had been forced to spend some weekend or be visited by Kevin and Lindsey, what he should have done to not tell them or let them discover that he had remarried and fathered a new child with another woman? Considering that Kevin and Lindsey still desired to see him and Suzanne wasn't aware of his new marriage, Frank would have simply visited the children at Suzanne's house to prevent them from knowing about his new family and if they asked him to visit his new home he would have made some excuse to not let them visit him to preclude them from learning the truth?
    • He's basically just trying to become a flat out deadbeat dad who wants to completely drop his ex wife and the children from his former marriage in favor of his new family. There's not really any deep layer of deception he's trying to accomplish. He's done with his old family and is making it clear he only wants his new one. And is leaving his ex to deal with the emotional weight of dealing with the children who still want to see him so that he doesn't have to go through the trouble of explaining it himself.
  • Why Nick thought that trying to reactivate Suzanne's car on the rain was really a good idea? He could have get killed doing that just in an attempt to impress her!
  • Was such a response from the airport security really necessary just because Nick was carrying a Swiss knife that Kevin put in his pockets? I remember one time I went on a study trip to another part of my country and they found me a scissor in my pencil case but no security officers tackled me for it and they just forgave me for that time but they asked me to put it in the briefcase next time. It's not like Nick had an atomic bomb or a grenade...
  • Why Kevin and Lindsey didn't put Galaktico's cape on his back once they returned to the train instead of trying to put it out of the train just when the train was about to leave? That wasn't a really smart idea. What if Nick didn't notice their absence and they were left behind?
  • Bringing Kevin to the women's bathroom of a gas station was really a good idea? Why Nick didn't stop the car in the woods and had Kevin urinate in the trees? I know it is not very hygienic and does not do good to the environment, but several children do so when they are traveling in cars and there are no bathrooms near. This wouldn't have been much more easy solution?
  • While this troper appreciates Big Al's bravery when he tries to rescue Kevin and Lindsey from Nick when he is tricked by the Kingston children to believe that Nick has kidnapped them, it shouldn't have been better to just look at Nick's car license plate and call the police to inform them about the Kingston children's "kidnapping"? While Big Al and his pal are the perfect proof that truckers can be really nice people, what if Nick had actually been a deranged and dangerous kidnapper who maybe had a gun? He could have just not endangered his life but also Lindsey's and Kevin's? His plan to rescue the kids was a little risky in fact...
    • I guess that if Big Al had called the police, the police would have just worsened the matters and the second half of the movie would have turned out very different.
  • When Big Al picks up Kevin and Lindsey but leaves Nick behind due still believing him to be a child kidnapper, why Kevin and Lindsey didn't explain him in detail that Nick wasn't a kidnapper and it had all been a prank upon getting on a track? Also, why they thought that beating up Big al with Galaktico and covering his face with a bag was a good idea?!?!?!?! Big Al could have crashed the truck and they could all have been killed!!!!
  • I noticed they used the Vancouver train station instead of Portland’s. Why couldn’t the film use Portland? Did they forget the train scene?
