• The crux of Lawson's issue is that, because Angel sired him with a soul he can gain no pleasure from feeding and doing the things vampires usually do. However, Holden from the Buffy episode "Conversations with Dead People" was sired by Spike (under the influence of the First Evil) while he had a soul, and Holden did not appear to have any of these issues. So what's the deal here? Was Holden not around long enough to figure out this problem before Buffy staked him or is this indicative that the curse that restored Angel's soul had something more to it than the demon that restored Spike's soul?
  • It could be because of Spike being under the First's control and not doing it of his own free will. Angel obviously regretted the siring even as he was doing it, while Spike was unable to feel anything of the sort at the time.
