• Why didn't he ever put on a life jacket? You'd think that would be the first thing to do.
  • I feel like the writers really wanted that final shot of him sinking deeper and deeper into the ocean, as it's the perfect visual symbol that he's lost all hope, and then they realized that realistically he'd have a life jacket and that would ruin the shot, leaving him to freeze (or starve) while floating along the surface. So they just ignored the whole concept of life jackets and hoped that nobody would notice.
