Headscratchers / Adventures of Huckleberry Finn

Go To

  • Why do Huck and Jim put up with the "King" and the "Duke" more-or-less taking over their raft? Both of them are savvy enough to realize that these two rather incompetent swindlers are serious trouble waiting to happen. At one point, Huck is nearly hanged when he's caught up in their scheme to bilk the Wilkses, and at another time they casually sell Jim when they need the money, even though Huck has what they needed and would have freely given it to them.
    • Flim flam artists are really confident, and confidence can win people over even when they should know better.
