Headscratchers / Absolutely Anything

• At one point in the movie, Neil's powers stop working and don't come back until the morning, which Neil never actually notices. I could believe this, except that during this time, Neil has sex with Catherine. I find it a tad unrealistic that Neil wouldn't attempt to use his powers during this time. At the very least, I'd expect him to do some magic to make them not require contraception (though I can put that one down to there obviously being no sign it hasn't worked), but I would also expect him to pull a Bruce Almighty and do something to make their sex particularly spectacular. I don't know, it just seems like Neil should have noticed his powers going away.
  • He doesn't need to do any of that. He had already used his powers to gain a spectacular penis specifically to wow the ladies. So the sex was probably great. And Catherine wasn't magicked into having sex with him. She's in her right mind, which means she more than likely made him use protection as a normal person would with a one night stand. The next day, even Neil assures himself that she won't have his kids. He wouldn't be sure of that unless he either used his powers or used protection and given his powers weren't on working and he didn't know, it seems he did in fact use protection.
    • The bit about kids is after Catherine storms out thinking he's having an affair with Dennis. "She won't want to marry me or have my kids." Nothing to do with the sex they'd just had. Catherine had been pretty drunk when they had sex so it's possible she wouldn't have bothered with protection, and Neil wouldn't have as he'd just wave his hand and command that Catherine wouldn't get pregnant, and they'd fuck like that because Neil wouldn't know it hadn't worked. I dunno, maybe you're right that Neil would have been so over the moon with his big penis and the fact he was fucking his crush that he wouldn't do anything to enhance an already spectacular experience. I guess in my head Neil would have been doing all sorts of supernatural, Bruce Almighty-esque things during sex, but maybe he didn't.
