     Dean and Rickles
  • What exactly did they do to end up on Lazar's hit list, as it's never mentioned by Abigail at all.
    • The obvious assumption is that Dean did something wrong when he was a driver for a past assignment and Rickles killed someone significant in Lazar's organisation without knowing exactly who he was targeting, but there is no specific information.

     Continuing to use the aliases
  • Why do the kidnappers continue to use their Rat Pack codenames after Abigail has revealed their true identities?
    • They have already gotten in the habit of referring to and thinking about each other by those names. Suddenly changing names for everyone would just introduce confusion during a dangerous situation.
    • They might also have been keeping an emotional distance from each other. Not only are they still career criminals and thus not wanting to get too close to each other (and referring to say, Frank, by his real name is a reminder that you know who he is and are now a loose end), but they also might die horribly and don't want to get too attached just in case.

     Failing to notice Lambert's transformation
  • Frank was a close enough criminal associate of Lambert's to trust him implicitly, and yet he didn't notice when all of a sudden he completely stopped interacting with the man during the daylight hours? For two years?
    • They may not have been meeting all that often in person, especially nowadays with VPNs/tor browsers/etc. And even if he did notice, there were plenty of plausible reasons for Lambert to avoid daylight, (such as darkness=stealth, or even something as mundane as a skin cancer scare), he might have thought of before jumping to, "vampires are real and Lambert is one."
    • Vampires can be active during the day as we repeatedly see. So all that Lambert had to do was meet Frank inside and away from windows (or possibly even outside on overcast/rainy days) if they were going to meet during the day. And really, how many people are going to realize they haven't seen someone in direct sunlight recently and immediately decide that person is a vampire?

Peter not coming back as a vampire?
  • He was bitten by Sammy on the neck, how come he didn't become another puppet like her?
    • Abigail states at the end of the movie that it takes more than biting to take control of someone, maybe she just wasn't able to do that with Peter? (Whatever "that" is.) Alternatively, she thought Sammy going after Peter would make a better game.
      • Likely the latter. As shown in the film, puppeteering someone they've bitten, is something that requires conscious willful intent on the part of the vampire, plus a level of skill that takes a long time to master. By that point she could've taken over either of them, and she chose Sammy.
    • The full rules of vampires are not entirely clear. Being bitten by a vampire but not drinking their blood turns you into a puppet. It is not clear what happens when a puppet bites you. Do you become another puppet? A weaker puppet? Do you just die? If you become a weaker puppet, maybe it isn't even worth doing.

     Sammy being a vampire?
  • Since she was bitten on the arm, and not on the neck like Frank - the latter having to drink Lambert's vampire blood to complete the transformation - does that mean Sammy was a vampire only through hypnosis? She didn't drink Abigail's blood.
    • Given that her wound actively healed before Abigail took over her, it's likely that Sammy was turned, just as a thrall.
    • The movie seems to imply that there are stages to being turned. Being bitten apparently gives the person the Super-Strength and Healing Factor, as well as vulnerability to sunlight, but only when activated by the vampire who turned them, and this turns them into a puppet as well. Being bitten and drinking the blood of the of the vampire, on the other hand, turns the person completely.

     Why the blue eyes?
  • Much like the Underworld (2003) series, this film makes Icy Blue Eyes a sign of vampirism. Not red or gold, but blue. Is there any significant reason for this, maybe having to do with folklore or some symbolism of the color itself?

     Sammy and sunlight?
  • As shown whenever a vampire is exposed to sunlight or staked they explode rather gorily, however when Abigail hypnotized Sammy sunlight was shown through the boarded windows burning her but she didn't explode only when Joey used the tray reflected onto Sammy's chest causes her to blow up.
    • The difference between direct and indirect sunlight. During that scene sunlight got into the passage and its presence inside it caused Sammy to burn and smoke. But none of it directly touched her skin, so it cause no explosive reaction. In the library, the sunbeam reflected from the silver tray hit her point blank, causing her to explode.

     Shouldnt Frank be human?
  • When Joey kills Frank she reverts to human form, since Frank was the vampire who turned her. But when Frank kills Lambert he does not revert, even though Lambert turned him.
    • Joey never drank Frank's blood nor was she made puppet, suggesting she was in the process of turning. Frank however had completely turned, which suggests that one has to kill the vampire who turned them before the transformation is complete.
    • What do you mean Joey reverts to her human form? She always was a human, she never even became a thrall, she just pretended that she did. (Note that her eyes never change color). Killing the vampire that bit you prevents you from becoming a thrall/puppet, but if you become an actual vampire there's no coming back from that.

Why did Frank trust Abigail's word about the secret passage in the bookcase?
  • Frank knows Abigail is a liar, so why does he take her at her word about the secret passage in the bookcase?
    • Frank is really arrogant and thinks he always knows when someone is lying. It never occurred to him that Abigail might be smarter.

How did Lambert get inside the house?
  • Since the security system was activated and was all on lockdown how was he able to get back inside into the security room?
    • There may have been another way into the house that was only locked after Lambert used it to get back inside to monitor everything from the security room.
