  • In Infinity Train: Blossoming Trail, Chloe's stomach begins growling "like an angry Pyroar" when she's in Corginia. Justified because the previous chapter had her unable to finish her lunch at school — because of how she was pressured to fight Ash — and because she refused to eat any of the curries Mr. Mime made at the Cerise Lab (as curry was a food she and Goh ate but it's now a symbol of how they've drifted apart as friends).
  • In Kyon: Big Damn Hero it happens to Kyon, unsurprisingly after Mikuru asked him if he was hungry so she could cook something to him.
  • In Chapter 2 at the beginning of this early The Last of Us Part II fanfic, Ellie's stomach violently growls twice while sleeping in her mattress after hunting deer with Joel earlier.
  • League of Legends:
    • In Chapter 6 of the fanfic Convalescene, after Vi awakes from a nap after drinking highly intoxicated with Jayce, her stomach growls loudly after a bot asks if there's anything that she needs. Her stomach growls loudly again after she takes a fresh shower before going to the kitchen for breakfast.
    • In Chapter 13 of the fanfic, The Diva's Bodyguard, Akali's stomach rumbles after her and Kai'Sa's grocery run takes longer than expected. Lucky for her, Kai'Sa is willing to take her out to eat since she's rather hungry herself.

    • Chloe's stomach rumbles a lot in California Dreamin' due to being a Big Eater. It growls twice in the beginning while she tries to relax with Max, then again after an emotional encounter with her hated ex-girlfriend Rachel Amber in chapter 5, and when she visits Max's family during chapters 8 and 9, her stomach repeatedly embarrasses her with its constant hungry rumbling around her girlfriend. It even growls after making love at the very ending of the fic, causing Max to crack a joke about her stomach being a black hole.
  • In the Punch-Out!! fanfic Ma Fille chapter "Culture Shock", Narcis' stomach rumbles after he mentions struggling to find foods in his new location that don't set off his sensitive digestive system.

  • My Hero Academia:
    • In the fanfic, Neither a Bird nor a Plane, it's Deku!, Izuku still feels hungry despite the fact that he doesn't need to eat for as long as he has sunlight. His stomach growls after he accidentally froze his lunch with his Super-Breath while training, prompting Momo to bring him to a hole in the wall for a meal. It happens again on his second day at U.A., as he's too rattled by his encounter with Mister Mxyzptlk to bother eating breakfast that day. Itsuka hands him her yakisoba bread when she hears this.

    • This happens to Twilight yet again twice in the beginning of "Dashes, Dots and Pegasus Spots", where her belly rumbles twice after she finishes writing a lengthy report for Princess Celestia.
    • In a series of fan arts by a particular DeviantArt user, this happens to Princess Celestia due to her increased size, which caused her appetite to increase along with it. (According to this user, she apparently has more than one stomach.)
    • In "Rainbow Pie in the Eye", this happens a number of times. The first time it happens to Pinkie Pie, who records a sample of her stomach noises so she and Rainbow Dash can use it for a prank. And then it happens to Rarity, whose hungry belly growls twice during a sleepover with the rest of the Mane 6. Applejack thinks she hears Rarity's stomach growl a third time, but it was actually something else... namely, the recorded growling of Pinkie's stomach as she and Rainbow freak them out with a scary gorilla costume.
    • In The Apprentice, the Student, and the Charlatan, Twilight's does this when she has been eating little for a week, due to her broken heart over Nova Shine's apparent cheating. Nova, looking to make amends because he didn't actualy do it, has prepared dinner for her and cleaned the treehouse among other things. • Mercy's stomach growls multiple times in Pocket Healer: the first time in Chapter 1 happens after Pharah asks her about grabbing something to eat after taking care of a bunch of tiny child-like clones of themselves, and her stomach rumbles two more times in Chapter 4 after waking up starving from a 27-hour rest caused by accidently exposing herself to an incredibly potent anesthesia.
  • Franziska's stomach constantly rumbles in the Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney fanfic Human Needs, which has her do her damnedest to make Miles Edgeworth buy her a Swiss roll without cluing him in to the fact that she's hungry. He never catches on, despite her stomach's loudness.
  • In Lost Latte, Latte's stomach growls twice from hunger.

  • Happens to Bowser in Episode 4 of the Super Mario Bros. fan series Super Mario Bros.: Heroes of the Stars, in the midst of Bowser celebrating his Heel–Face Turn (literally interrupting a music fanfare in the process). It happens once more in Episode 10, following a long sparring session. Much like in Episode 4, it serves as an interruption, this time with Bowser's stomach interrupting a heart-to-heart conversation between Mario, Yoshi, and Luigi (with their own stomachs following suit).
    • And in Episode 11 (as seen in a preview), Bowser's stomach growls, right after bragging about being in the best shape out of everyone in the party (who have all collapsed from exhaustion due to the desert's heat). The noise is actually loud enough to awaken them, and they proceed to mistake the sound for being a Chain Chomp or a monster after Bowser's stomach growls twice more.
  • In Throwing Away a Hero Mark's stomach growls while he and Harry are discussing Kansas City barbecue joints.
Harry: Sounds like we better hurry before the monster in your stomach fights its way out and devours the rest of us.

  • We Can Be Heroes! (Steven Universe):
    • Lapis' stomach growls after a particularly tense encounter with a rude towing company manager in chapter 6, much to her embarrassment and to her new friend Hurley's amusement, ultimately letting the chapter end on a silly and whimsical note. She then begins to fart uncontrollably, causing Anakin to crack up while most of their accompanying Clone battalion are just disgusted.
  • In the Xenoblade Chronicles 2 fanfic, Pyra Has A Farting Problem, Rex asked was Pyra has hungry when her stomach growled once. She said it didn't felt it was hunger the second time it growl again but in a very loud sound and a big fiery fart ensues all while embarrassed by it.
