Just because Zistopia is a very dark "Racist Animal Hell AU" doesn't mean it's without any humor.

     The Comic Itself
  • Nick and Judy first meeting shortly after she prevented him from escaping jail... and her dealing with the fact that she needs him to solve a case.
Judy: (With an annoyed expression) You're gonna make me drag THAT with me on an investigation?
    Nick: Khk
Judy: (Pulls him close) You listen, FOX. No funny business, okay? No scheming, no conniving, none of that fox stuff.
Nick: (With a shit-eating grin) You have such a way with words, Lieutenant Hippity-hop.
Judy: (Trying to look frightening) Because if you put one toe out of line...
Nick: (Looking more amused than anything) I tremble in my orange jumpsuit.
    • The author note only makes it better.
Author: Zistopia AU #02. Turns out that escaped convict you chased down and humiliated in front of an apartment of mice the other day is your only lead in solving a mystery. Good fuckin luck.
  • In #03 Nick is amused by Judy saying "Just the carrots." He then proceeds to ask about an urban legend he had heard previously.
Nick: Hey-hey. Is it true that rabbits are in heat like, all the time? Are you in heat right now? Is that why you're so mad?
Judy: (With a disturbed look on her face) Up. Up now. No pie for you.
Nick: Come on carrots, it's just a question.
  • The entirety of the all too short #05.
  • You may find some Dark Humor in "Zistopia AU #06. Nick Wilde making friends in jail." due to the abruptness in the change of the mood.
Nick: [Tells the three humped camel joke from the movie]
Lion Inmate: My wife died in labor of collar convulsions.
Nick: (With a horrified expression) Oh my God.
  • "Zistopia AU #11. Fun times in Tundratown." We have both the introduction of Koslov, Angel, Nilla, and Cherry. Also Nick's reaction to Judy denying Koslov's offered borscht.
Guard: (Dangling Judy and Nick with ease) Found these two arguing outside. Fox says, he knows you.
Nick: (Looking put out) Hi Koslov. Angel. Nilla. Cherry.
Koslov and the snow vixens: NIIIICK!!! You got out of jail!!!
Nick: (On the ground now) Not entirely. No... You see, I have to help them solve a mystery first.
Nick: (Dangling Judy) This here is Lieutenant Carrots Hippity-Hop.
  • From "Zistopia AU #12.5. For inquiries call 555-COMFORT" we have Cherry saying she'd consider dating Nick if he wasn't so "needy and pathetic," to which Nilla and Angel agree.
  • The running gag of characters boo-ing Bellwhether.
  • The introduction of Honey, Finnick and Clawhauser - Which spans the entirety of #14-#16.
  • Nick's stay in the Hopps home.
    • Being swarmed by Judy's nieces and nephews.
    • The constant Thousand-Yard Stare as he attempts to traverse the confusing home.
    • His inability to deal with their brand of affection.
    • Nick meeting Sheena, Judy's punk little sister.
Sheena: You're Judy's fox. So are you, like, hot for my sister?
      Nick: ...?! What?!
    • His correct assumption on just what kind of mammal Sheena is.
Nick: Ohh my god you're from one of those punk-rocker, anti-social, anti-common decency subcultures, aren't you?
Sheena: That's cute. He thinks he knows more about invasive questions than an actual rabbit.
    • Grandpa Hopps being a-okay with Sheena defacing the family photo... for the exact same reason she used as motivation.
Grandpa: Good Riddance. They made me stand on those bleachers for hours.
    • Nick getting so excited over hearing The Slicks that he dives right into the room (through a bunny hole) without question and surprises Chet, Diane, Fiona and Tulip.
      Nick: WHAT'S THAT RACKET?!
      The Siblings: (Stunned Silence)
      The Siblings: RANDY REBECCA RABBIT!!!
    • The flashback revealing Nick's first kiss was taken by none other than Gazelle.
    • Nick's interaction with Tulip.
Tulip: (Sitting on his lap without permission) I've never met a fox before... Are you all so... foxy? <3 <3
      Her Siblings: TULIP!!
Tulip: That bandage makes you look really hot -
(The other three pull her away from him)
Chet: Mr. Wilde, I apologize for my sister's depravity.
Diane: I don't think this guy is into rabbits.
Fiona: Not to mention he's old enough to be your dad.
Tulip: (With hearts in her eyes) How old are you?
Nick: (With an expression that's either confused or offended) Little girl, I am 32!
      Tulip: 13 y/o DADDY!! I'M 59% HIS AGE!!
    • Tulip idolizing Gazelle because she's "depraved and provocative." Also Nick getting stuck in the room and needing the siblings to dig him out.
Nick: And Nick is feeling very stuck right now. Very stuck indeed.
    • Nick having to use a laundry shoot to get to Judy. Which Diane and Fiona dub "laundry slide adventure."
      • When Nick gets stuck Fiona calls her nieces and nephews to help push him down. When he gets to the bottom he's assaulted with raining baby buns falling on top of him.
    • Nick embarrassing himself by proving the urban legend about Foxes shouting when they see their true love upon finally finding Judy. Unfortunately this moment is lessened by the fact that his collar injured him again due to excitement.
    • After Judy takes his collar off again she and (a slightly not fully functioning) Nick run into her bitchy sister Jillian.
      Nick: ...Who's she?
(Jillian gives them a disbelieving look)
Nick: (Sees her babies and waves) Hi babies.
Judy: (Smug look crosses her face) Jillian. (Leans into Nick's back) Mmmm - (sniff) Babe you smell so good.
Nick: (Still out of it) George was right about rabbits!
Judy: It's that natural fox musk. Irresistible. Let's go somewhere ~PRIVATE~
      (Jillian looking infuriated)
Nick: Haha. MUSK. What a funny word. Musk. Mmmusk. Musk. Rhymes with busk. Busk is a word, right?
Judy: Shhh don't talk babe, you'll wear yourself out.
(Jillian is looking as if she needs Brain Bleach.)
    • The fact that the aforementioned part is simply titled "(eat shit)"
    • After Nick comes to from the above.
Nick: Lieutenant, did you pretend I was your boyfriend so you could rustle you're bitchy sister's jimmies?
    • Judy having to chase off two separate hordes of nieces and nephews. (Made better by the fact that the first one seems to be lead by her brother Chet and second one by Tulip.)
  • After the very dark scene in Carnifaux, Bucky and Ernest are discussing about giving the evidence of the experiments in Carnifaux to ZPD. Their guest, the recently-freed Manchas asks if they may perhaps share opinion, and the two cops shoot them down without missing a beat.
Manchas: I... suppose I have no say in any of all this?
    Bucky and Ernest: NO!
  • In response to Nick being hunted down for uncollaring several predators, several foxes decide to turn themselves in claiming to be Nick in order to buy him his freedom, and these include several vixens. Why do they do that? Because Nick's wanted poster forgot to mention that Nick is male.
  • While the string of events Judy hears from Woolfred U. Douglas are not at all funny, the way her face contorts in various manners out of sheer disbelief is a sight to behold.

     Other
  • If you go with the chrono-link on the main page so you can see Word of God, the first thing you'll see is this:
Author: (Stoned voice) duuuuuuude…… What if the behavior collars are just part of a big conspiracy…….. What if they cause predators to act aggressively so that the prey overlords can have an excuse to repress them……. Duuuuuuuuude
  • The first blooper video from the dub. Especially when it descends into madness.
Judy's VA: Okay, too much. (Laughs)
  • After an asker lampshades several reasons as to why Everyone Can See It, the author gives a rather funny responce shortly before posting #36:
Author: Nicolas "I am not a preyophile" Wilde | Nick "I need Judy" Wilde | Nicolas "P is for Pansexual" Wilde
  • The Author is a little upset that a certain phrase is Newer Than They Think:
Author: Zistopia AU #39. disclaimer: to “rustle ones jimmies” is not in fact a real idiom of the era. Apparently it was made up in 2010 to SOUND like greaser slang. That really rustles my jimmies.
  • The "Nick's Shit Taste" side series. So far there's only two parts but they manage to be pretty funny.
  • While a lot of the author's side drawings usually have something to do with world building, several are just silly. Like the 10/19/2016 image:
Nick: Why is it that I, a TOTALLY STRAIGHT FOX, cannot aesthetically appreciate a rabbit's SWEET ASS!!!
  • A sequence showing Judy's progression to the stone-faced officer she is in the present.
