In General

• The Crimson Dragon Crusaders are a Ragtag Bunch of Misfits that contain most of the humor in this otherwise dark fic.

Chapter 3: The Magicians in the Princess's Court

• The first scene essentially details all you need to know about Atem and Mana's relationship: Atem hates waking up in the mornings and Mana just loves waking him up.
• Shingo tries to duel Mana and the crowd is fully on her side.
  • Dark Magician Girl pulls a Kuriboh out of her hat to pacify Berry Magician Girl:
    Shingo: H-HOW DID SHE GET THAT KURIBOH?
    Téa: It's magic, she doesn't have to explain it!
  • The crowd having a heated debate on whether or not Shingo should destroy Berry Magician Girl (a baby) or Dark Magician Girl. And when he finally does destroy the baby (using The Monarchs Stormforth to tribute her for Caius the Shadow Monarch) they are not impressed.
    Member of the crowd: NOT THE BABY!!!!
  • The crowd somehow has signs cheering Mana on from out of nowhere.
  • Ootomo lampshades that the Magician Girls have their names based on fruit...except Chocolate Magician Girl, and then brings up why not just call her Coco Magician Girl as both a play on coconut and hot cocoa.

Chapter 4: My Kiss of Trust

• Yugi is facing Tilla Mook who is enamored with Atem (his boyfriend) and stating how he looks so much like a vampire, causing Yugi to have an Imagine Spot of Atem as a vampire to the point of his face turning red like a tomato.
  • "Okay, okay, I get it! Atem's hot! Can you just duel already?!"
  • This is later brought up at the end of the chapter with Atem teasing Yugi over the idea of being a handsome vampire king.
• The Bet made between Tilla and Yugi was that Atem became Tilla's boyfriend if she won. After Yugi wins, Atem notes that he would just dump her after an hour; after all, they never said how long he had to be Tilla's boyfriend.
• Mana squealing at seeing her uncle and aunt (Pegasus and Cecilia) that she tackles them onto the sofa and causes them to crash.
• Tristan gushing over Duel Monsters that look like Serenity and Joey telling him to stop ogling his sister.
• When Pegasus reveals his Red-Eyes Black Dragon support, he shows off monsters based on Tristan and Joey. Tristan is gushing at how cool he is and Joey doesn't find it interesting...until he's looking in awe at how he's based off a Dragon King.

Chapter 5: Enter the Dragons

• Xavier Maxa brings out a lot of the chapter's humor with his witty remarks against Akiza. Case in point:
  • Akiza states how much she hates the Fabled monsters in the most eloquent way possible:
    Akiza: You have gotten on my last nerve, Xavier. You have no idea how pissed off I am.
    Xavier: Oh? Do tell~
    Akiza: YOUR STUPID DECK AND THOSE FABLED MONSTERS HAVE DRIVEN ME MAD! And do you know what you just did? I lost my dragon to a cat! A CAT!
    Xavier: I thought you’d be proud; witches and cats go together like coffee and donuts.
  • When Akiza summons her White Rose and Red Rose Dragons, everyone in the audience coos over the cuties, even Xavier lampshades it.
    Xavier: Oh… I’d be cooing at how cute they both are, but I know these two will spell my doom with their little claws.
  • While watching Rin duel Professor Frank, Xavier constantly is asking Akiza to use her psychic powers to summon his monsters to destroy Frank.
    Xavier: (after Frank quotes "Everything has a dual nature") FUCK YOU ASSHOLE FOR TAKING MY PHILOSOPHY AND TWISTING IT TO YOUR OWN DESIRES! (shows The Fabled Catsith to Akiza) See this?
    Akiza: Again, rubbing it in my face about that—
    Xavier: Summon it to scratch that bastard’s eyes off right the fuck now or so help me!

Chapter 6: Blooming Friendship

• Yugo's reactions to seeing Red Rose Dragon and White Rose Dragon is to take them to his home and spoil them rotten.
• Jack insisting that Yanagi is safe and no one is going to harm him to Yusei. Cut to the last scene of the chapter when Armstrong is chasing Yanagi away from an oden stand.
• Upon seeing Yusei working himself to near death, Jack has to drag Yusei off to bed and proclaims he'll cook something for Yusei when he wakes up.
  Yusei: NO! ANYTHING BUT THAT!

Chapter 6 (Part 2): Resolutions and Questions

• Everything about the encounter of Yanagi entering Bootleg for help, to Armstrong barging in, to Kalin's arrival causing everyone in the bar to get the hell out.
  Bar patron: Oh my god, it's the Shinigami!
  • And in response to that, Crow lampshades why he doesn't have a badass title.
  • Carly and Grady's justified reactions to seeing two of the Enforcers also wanting Yanagi.
• Crow realizes that Yusei had seen the entire goose chase of him chasing after Armstrong and Yanagi and hopes that he's not mad. Cut to Yusei and Jack watching the news and Yusei about to lose it.
• Randsborgh declares that a new saga has formed and the group has now become "The Crimson Dragon Crusaders!" Cue a Beat from everyone present before Yanagi exclaims, "I like it!"

Chapter 12: Fight of the Night

• Serena and Sora are introduced to Mana.
  Mana: Just to let you know, I'm a hugger! (hugs the two)
  • Mana introduces Serena to Kuribohs. Her reaction is... unexpected...
    Serena: (holding one in her arms with wide sparkly eyes) It's...so….FLUFFY! IT'S LIKE A FLUFFY LITTLE KITTY!
    • ...and it gets funnier when she tries to get Sora to hug one.
      Sora: Uh no th- (Sora is interrupted with Serena shoving the cyan Kuriboh into Sora's arms)
      Serena: Hug it! HUG IT! You're the same! His fur matches your hair after all!
  • When Sora learns about Atem being Mana's twin brother, he imagines him as a male Mana with a love of Kuribohs. When he questions if Atem is like that, Yuya, Yuzu, and Joey collectively laugh in response.
• Mana spends most of the duel cooing over Serena's Lunalight monsters.
