Golden Age/Earth-Two:
  • This immortal discussion between Diana Prince and Etta Candy from the original Wonder Woman #1, about how Diana's worried about Etta's eating habits.
Diana Prince: You know Etta, you ought to cut down on the candy. It will ruin your constitution-
Etta Candy: Nuts, deary! My constitution has room for lots of amendments.
Diana Prince: But Etta, if you get too fat you can't catch a man-
Etta Candy: Who wants to? When you've got a man, there's nothing you can do with him—-but candy you can eat!
  • Eviless swears on her life and station that her latest restraints for Wonder Woman will actually hold her, and when Diana wakes her first line is about how she's been bound with the unbreakable lasso and she can't escape that...she then immediately rips the pole she's tied to out of the ship and swings it around to wreak the bars Etta is imprisoned behind and has Etta untie her.
  • Etta regularly manages to find hidden and disguised things by accident either by sitting down on some kind of pressure switch or lever when she's given up the search, or by climbing over one when trying to get a better view. Once over in Sensation Comics she found the villain's lair when she slid open a hinged wall mount taxidermy trophy to see if anything was hidden behind it and it opened the hidden sliding door at the back of the fireplace even as her Holliday Girls complained to her that there was no way any evidence of the murder they were investigating was hidden up there.

Silver & Bronze Age/Earth-One:

  • Wonder Woman #134 has Wonder Girl save a whale from being harpooned, only for it to thank her with its tail too hard and knock her out. Mer-Boy ends up having to save her.
  • In one Silver Age comic, Manno the Merman tries to impress Diana, only to have her go with Steve Trevor in a contest to see which man she would choose. Angrily, he pursues the duo straight into the forest, with all the grace of a legless half-fish on land, the whole time swearing bloody murder at Steve and vowing to prove himself as the more worthy suitor for Diana. He then gets snatched up by a giant bird, forcing Diana to rescue him and humiliating him in front of Steve, who openly mocks him.
