Go To

The world of When Reason Fails is a terrifying Lovecraft-like land full of Eldritch Abominations, magic that destroys your brain (if you're lucky) and all sorts of stuff that would terrify the bravest of men. Put in a Nightmare Fetishist Weirdness Magnet with a mysterious ancestry, an Only Sane Man with a Hair-Trigger Temper, a horny ghoul who seems to have learned social interactions through hentai manga, a girl in love with the aforementioned Weirdness Magnet and with a mysterious past of her own, and The Comically Serious with a love for popcorn, sodas, and having both while watching the others' hijinks, and it becomes hilarity incarnate.

Book One

    Initiation
  • The story's first Establishing Character Moment: when Katsuki catches him looking at Toga, he asks if Izuku has a crush on the girl.
Izuku: Why are you interested in knowing that? Do YOU have a crush on her?
Katsuki: What? No way. (Izuku grins) Don’t you d...
Izuku: So do you have a crush on me? (Katsuki almost retches in disgust) Works every time.
  • Toga introducing Izuku to the Masquerade.
Himiko Toga: Congratulations, you just discovered that we’re all living in a fantasy setting, with an entire world of magical creatures, dusty tomes of magical spells and mages hiding from the muggles. Bad news, is that it’s Call of Cthulhu more than Harry Potter, and to say it in the least vulgar way, you’re now officially boned.
  • Why Toga didn't kill Izuku even though she just went through her usual modus operandi: she was initially hungry, but then she looked at him and decided she was thirsty.
  • Izuku's first magic book: a book that the Censor made him think was a Space Opera story.
  • When Katsuki grills Izuku on his interest in Himiko, Izuku asks him to drop the matter. When Katsuki agrees, Izuku trips and looks at his friend in shock.
Katsuki: STOP LOOKING AT ME AS IF IT WHAT I JUST DID WAS HARD TO BELIEVE, DEKU!
    • Then Izuku's claim that there's nothing between him and Himiko is quickly proven wrong... when the girl shows up, grabs Izuku, French-kisses the daylights out of him and tells him to come to her home when he's done for the day.
    • Izuku's answer when Katsuki asks him what he feels for Toga.
Izuku: Absolute confusion? And slightly horny.
  • Todoroki's idea of a joke.
Todoroki: Did [Himiko] invite you for dinner? And if so, did she specify if she invited you as a guest or as a food?
    • When Izuku states that Himiko is sexually attracted to him, Todoroki offers him a piece of advice: use protection.
    • Todoroki shows Izuku that the book he's reading is actually hiding romance manga.
  • Aizawa and Yagi show up to give Izuku an orientation on the magical world, and the latter asks Izuku if there is something strange going on with his family.
  • In his third visit to Toga, Izuku stops to talk with Todoroki to ask him... if he actually has a lower half of the body. Izuku is slightly terrified when Todoroki replies that it actually makes sense.
  • Izuku makes a Double Take when he realizes that his father's room is (all of a sudden) completely empty.
  • When Izuku reveals the Masquerade to Katsuki, and the latter realizes that Izuku's really counting on him to inject some common sense in his new life:
Katsuki: Deku. What is fucking wrong with you? Why am I always the reasonable one?! I’m not supposed to be the fucking reasonable one!
    • This prompts the debut of Todoroki's Pass the Popcorn Running Gag. When Himiko told him about the soon-to-come reveal, he went out and bought a bag of popcorn, a burger and a large cup of Coca-Cola. Which he slurps loudly. He later gives Izuku his phone number so he can call him later the next time he has to do something like that - because he finds it entertaining.
  • After they have a good-natured argument by the lake, they are interrupted by a frog girl that lives in the lake. Izuku does the first thing that comes to mind.
Izuku: Frog of the lake, what is thy wisdom?
(Katsuki Face Palms so hard it sounds like a gunshot)
  • Izuku goes with Katsuki to his house so he can teach him glyphs. The results are... not good.
To say that Bakugou’s attempt was misguided would be an understatement. Izuku just fails to spot a single part of the drawing where Kacchan managed to draw it properly. It’s, honestly, a form of an achievement.
    First Assignment
  • Himiko's nickname in the group's chat: IzuSimp.
  • When Katsuki asks how to get a mini-nuke in case they need to deal with threats, Yagi seriously tells him to ask the school's artificers.
  • When Yagi gives them their assignment on magical research, Katsuki hands it over to Izuku.
Katsuki: Nerd, that one’s on you. Your ability to investigate random fucking things and then drown everyone around you in trivia mutterstorms is borderline fucking divine.
Izuku: What are you talking about?! That isn’t tru...
Katsuki: Deku. Someone once disagreed with you on whether one character from an anime that you’ve only watched once a few years ago was gay or not. You ended up watching the whole thing again and spending literal hours researching associated media and even the authors fucking tweets just to give that guy a thirty minutes long lecture after he already managed to forget about the argument. Don’t you fucking tell me that it’s not true.
  • Katsuki once joined their middle school baseball team. He dominated the club, and then decided everyone else was a bunch of losers and left. It's made obvious that he'd rather hit other things than the ball with the bat.
  • When Yagi tells the group that how to deal with an assignment (wipe out a nest of aberrations) is up to them. Katsuki enthusiastically raises his hand. Then Yagi points out that blowing the building up or setting it aflame will net the group less points. Katsuki's enthusiasm dries up.
  • When Katsuki calls Ochako "Round Cheeks", Izuku tells her that Katsuki's bad with names, and that he's not sure if Katsuki actually remembers his (Izuku's) name.
Katsuki: Of course I fucking remember your name, Deku. Don’t tell me you’re actually doubting me?
    Izuku: Then what’s my name?
Katsuki: Now I’m not going to answer that... because I’m pissed off over you doubting me.
  • Apparently, at one point, Izuku accidentally took Katsuki's backpack to his house.
  • Izuku gives out a few instructions before facing the mirrorgeist.
Izuku: As I said, no sudden movements, keep looking for the mirror, don’t run around, and check what you’re stepping on before doing that because we can’t be sure that there are no holes in the floor that the mirrorgeist will hide from us. Also if you see a large and disgustingly deformed quadrupedal abomination, do not attack. Kacchan just tripped and is temporarily on all fours.
  • Himiko takes advantage of the illusions so Izuku will accidentally grope her. Ochako "accidentally" trips on Himiko. Meanwhile, Todoroki keeps slurping his cola, clearly having fun imagining what's happening, while Katsuki just Face Palms.
  • Izuku's "secret weapon" to discover the mirrorgeist: a strobe light he "borrowed" (stole using a concealment glyph) from a shop.
  • Izuku finds the mirrorgeist and throws it to the floor to break it - and accidentally hits Katsuki.
  • When the mirrorgeist breaks, Ochako and Himiko are still entangled, so Todoroki faces them, brings out the popcorn and asks them to continue. Katsuki walks up to him, takes his cap off, Dope Slaps him and puts the cap back while telling him to stop being a pervert.
  • When they arrive to the place for the combat assignment, Katsuki sarcastically asks if the next assignment will be at an Abandoned Hospital. Todoroki immediately states there's actually one nearby.
  • Izuku deliberately chooses not to tell the others that the crawler mimics they are hunting are spiders - which Katsuki is afraid of.
    • When Katsuki shouts that he isn't scared of spiders, Himiko waves the mimic she just killed in front of his face. He literally Screams Like a Little Girl.
    • Then Himiko gives Katsuki him a bottle - which promptly transforms back to a spider. Katsuki runs out in a panic. Todoroki considers it hilarious.
  • Katsuki winds up rather disappointed from viewing Izuku using Ignition. He's unable to appreciate the irony of saying that pointing your hands at something and firing off explosions with them is "absolutely fucking stupid".
  • Katsuki's dad switched from the fashion industry to running a gardening company.
Masaru Bakugo: Plants complain about minor stupid things way less and are arrested for doing major stupid things under influence way rarer. Trust me, son.
  • Katsuki summarizing Izuku's plan to give Tsuyu the dead crawler mimics.
  • Among the things Tsuyu gives the group is a screw. Todoroki states that Katsuki likely lost it and forgot because of the Censor. It takes Katsuki a while to get it.

    Magister
  • When Katsuki learns a spell on his first attempt, everyone's reaction in the group chat is Stunned Silence - including Todoroki. When Katsuki asks who let him in the chat, Todoroki immediately sells out Himiko by revealing he paid with photos of Izuku.
  • Izuku brings up that Himiko killed an artificer in her own workshop, dragged her away in full view of everyone else and ate her. Himiko promptly adds that the artificer tasted like strawberries.
  • Maijima's demands for Izuku's Cabal to be allowed in the artificers' workshop.
Maijima: I’m going to make something clear. I do not want any of your standard brand of chaos in my workshop. No killing people, Toga. No swearing, Bakugou. Midoriya. Just don’t.
  • Someone wrote under Hatsume's name in her door "The Dark Apostle of the Ancient of Chaos and Property Damage".
  • Hatsume shows the cabal a modified AK-9 rifle. When Izuku asks if she has something more subtle, she asks if they want an anti-material rifle.
Turns out that according to Hatsume subtle means undetected and you can’t be detected if there is nothing left alive to detect you. Wow.
  • Why Hatsume is willing to let the Cabal pay for her stuff in installments: so she can later rub it in the faces of all the other artificers.
  • Himiko teases the hell out of Izuku so he will not get too anxious when he speaks with Ochako later. Unfortunately, said teasing fries his brain.
Oh. Wait. She isn’t... Toga just couldn’t be right about it, right? Midoriya decides to be subtle about it.
“Do you have a crush on me, Uraraka?” He says, before realizing what he has just done.
Unfortunately, Toga’s plan of making him too horny to stay anxious worked almost too well. It even made him push subtlety out of the proverbial window without realizing it.
  • Katsuki and Izuku have a discussion where the former warns him to be more careful, because if he dies because of doing something stupid and/or horny he'll resurrect him just to laugh at him. The conversation is interrupted by Todoroki loudly chewing on popcorn.
  • Hatsume asks Izuku's Cabal via chat app to do some work for her, offering to reduce their debt to her by a thousand Contribution Points. Izuku replies that they'll do it for two thousand. The two keep going back and forth until Katsuki yells at them to go straight to 1500 and stop blowing his phone with notifications.
IzuSimp (Himiko): you know you can just switch the notifications off for some time
FAAK (Katsuki): I DON’T TRUST THE NERD ENOUGH TO NOT MAINTAIN A CONSTANT OVERSIGHT OF HIS FUCKING INTERACTIONS WITH YOU, MESSY HAIR
FAAK: also don’t tell me what to do
    FAAK: besides, it fucking worked
  • When the team gets ready for the run into the park for Hatsume's request, Katsuki gives Izuku a Dope Slap - because he knows Izuku will do something stupid and wants to get ahead on the punishment.
    Nightmare of Leaves
  • Todoroki tells Izuku he should speak with Ashido about getting magical drugs. Izuku asks Katsuki to go with him.
    FAAK: faak you Deku
FAAK: I’m not getting arrested or, worse, expelled
FireBroccoli: and it’s MY priorities that are messed up? What are you, Hermione Granger with anger issues?
FAAK: your priorities are being horny > everything else
FAAK: you’re not allowed to call me out on that
  • Izuku realizes how twisted things are in U.A.
Izuku really thought that Aizawa-sensei considering brutal murder and subsequent consumption of his students by a cannibalistic serial killer (also, kind of, Izuku’s girlfriend, but he isn’t sure if he wants to dwell on that) as some sort of ‘that will teach the others to not slack off’ moment was the lowest point, but...
    What is wrong with UA?!
Actually, wait a second. What is wrong with Izuku to consider children playing wargames with real guns worse than teachers permitting them to be eaten by a cannibalistic serial killer? Is the weirdness of this place infectious or what?
  • Izuku discusses with his friends about going to Tokage's base in the Ghost Town Exclusion Zone.
Todoroki: Are we going to go there during the day or at night? The supernatural is more active at night, however, it also means lower risks of encountering a human ambush. The situation is the opposite during the day.
Izuku: And that’s why... We’ll go there at dawn, to avoid both problems at once!
    Todoroki stares at Izuku
Todoroki: Despite observing you for days now... I still didn’t figure out if you are so blindingly smart that I fail to understand your line of reasoning, or so incredibly stupid that I can’t comprehend the fact that you’re still alive.
Katsuki: Big mood. And I have known him almost my entire life.
  • Izuku reveals he has learned a new spell (Heat Wave) in his second reading of a magic book. Todoroki is left stunned. Then Katsuki reveals he has ALSO learned a new spell (Advance) in his second reading. Todoroki becomes scared. And then Ochako reveals she ALSO knows a new spell (Heavy Gravity). Todoroki decides it's time to go to sleep while Himiko chooses to go on a long walk.
    • When Katsuki reveals what his new spell does (it allows him to advance slowly towards his target while being super-resistant), Izuku sarcastically calls it the art of intimidating slow walk. Katsuki fires back by stating Izuku's new spell lets him heat food.
  • Izuku realizes that Tsuyu coming to meet him in spite of Toga (who could have hunted and killed her then) was very brave of her, so he decides to give her many head pats the next time they meet. Katsuki dope slaps him for thinking about that stuff while they are in the middle of the Ghost Town.
  • When he's Tired of Running from Geten, Izuku unveils the plan he's come up with to deal with the Cold One, consisting of Himiko using her Skin Removal spell to cause his protection to backfire. He calls it "The Most Devastating Nose Boop In History".
    • With Geten blinded, he tries to escape by forming an ice pillar and then a platform to step away. He falls off that platform, and the next one he slides off out of sight.
    • During the fight, Himiko rips off Geten's hand. After the fight, she eats it like an ice cream, bringing out Izuku's Nightmare Fetishist.
  • Tokage's cabal's base has a minefield surrounding it - or, as Ashido calls it, a "spicy lawn".
  • Ibara's reaction to Izuku's Charm?
Ibara: I don’t know what magic you used, but I refuse to believe even for a second that my newly found desire to be impregnated by you is natural.
  • Ibara's answer to Shoto bringing up her nickname of "Nightmare of Leaves" to talk with her.
Ibara: So, from the fact that Todoroki decided to call me out, I assume that you decided to confront me directly in order to practically blackmail me into agreeing to supply you with drugs, am I correct about that?
Shoto: I prefer the term... ‘aggressive persuasion techniques’. Blackmail has a bit too negative connotations.
Izuku groans. So much about not antagonizing people as a long-term survival strategy.
  • When Ibara (see her previous reaction) states she wants something out of Izuku's Cabal to show their willingness to commit to the deal they are making, Izuku preemptively flips Katsuki off.
  • Katsuki's nickname for Ibara: Pregnancy Fetishist.
  • After the meeting with Ibara, Izuku makes it clear that if anyone in the group tries to kill Ibara, he's not going to be happy. When he notices that there is a suspicious lack of comments, he adds injuring her in such a way she can't have sex or get pregnant to the list. That brings out a complaint from Toga.
    • Shoto's reaction to this (and Katsuki's reaction to him):
"...I really should have taken the popcorn with me," Todoroki announces. Then, like an absolute disappointment to Mankind as a species that he is, he pulls out a can of cola and opens it.
"Library Freak, I’m fucking begging you here," Bakugou reacts immediately. "Stop being yourself so much that it hurts."
"What?" Todoroki freezes with the can right next to his mouth. "I couldn’t do that within Shiozaki’s spore range, but I can do it here. And nothing’s stopping me."
"How about..." Bakugou stares at him. "... a baseball bat to the face?"
Todoroki says nothing. Instead, he slurps his cola loudly while maintaining eye contact with Bakugou.
Todoroki, clearly, fears neither gods nor men.
  • When Izuku calls Toshinori, the teacher immediately knows something happened. When Izuku asks why he assumes something happened, Toshinori answers that he knows Izuku.
    • Toshinori asks Izuku if he's one-hundred-percent heterosexual. Izuku admits he might be attracted to guys that look very feminine - and immediately turns to scream at a guffawing Katsuki.
  • Izuku attempts to get some pointers on dryads from Shoto.
“They reproduce by making their spores infect you from the inside, growing up into a full organism that kills you when they grow big enough, before feasting on your remains as a fertilizer," Todoroki replies.
Izuku shrinks while letting out a choking sound.
It was a joke," Todoroki then states. Izuku immediately develops an intense desire to commit bloody murder.
On Todoroki AND Kacchan, who is clearly laughing his ass off in the background.
  • After Toshinori's first solution for Izuku's Charm is a complete fiasco (something that was meant to last one year is instead drained in one second), the teacher's got something to say.
“Well, this is… unexpected.” Yagi channels his entire experience by interacting with others. “I’m now more interested in your father than in your mother, Young Midoriya. Although I am still interested in her as well.”
“I think the right thing to say right now…” Todoroki announces, his mission of putting Uraraka’s body where it wasn’t going to be in the way finished already. “... is ‘how kinky, Yagi-sensei’.”
Yagi Toshinori lets out a loud choking sound, while Midoriya is torn between laughing and still being confused and freaked out by what just happened.
  • When Izuku mentions the plans to hit the Abandoned Hospital for Ibara's request, Toshinori states he'll be moving to U.A.'s nuclear shelter for the duration.
    • Izuku complains and states nothing's going to happen. Toshinori and Shoto look at each other and then at Izuku, clearly not believing him.
  • When Fuyumi mentions Shoto's description of Katsuki (‘A foulmouthed brat that needs someone experienced and just as stubborn and willful as he is to set him straight, and also is totally gay for his childhood friend’), Katsuki very calmly asks Fuyumi if she minds that he intends to squash Shoto's nose as his next life goal.
  • Katsuki asks if the experiment to cancel Izuku's Charm worked. Izuku explains that his father may have also been an aberrant. Katsuki cracks up laughing as he imagines a conversation.
FAAK: "So, what are you exactly?" "I’m half-eldritch abomination." "Oh, what’s the other half?" "A more terrifying eldritch abomination."
    • He also calls the sunglasses solution as lame, which Izuku agrees with.
    Elsewhere
  • Shoto asks Katsuki if he knows what revenants are.
"A type of undead that’s literally too angry or hateful at someone to die so they stay around to fucking haunt or straight up murder whoever pissed them off so much," Bakugou replies.
"Absolutely, and that’s one more reason for you to start taking anger management classes," Shoto replies calmly. Bakugou flips him the bird.
  • When Ashido gives Izuku stuff as part of their deal, she mentions there's some lubricant - which, of course, triggers Himiko's giggles. Izuku promptly tells Shoto to bonk her.
  • When the group gathers for their Abandoned Hospital run, Izuku and Katsuki are dismayed to see Shoto is carrying seven (7) coca cola cans on his belt, with more in his backpack.
    • He later uses one (combined with his ice magic) as an improvised grenade on an orderly. When Katsuki points it out, Shoto is surprised they thought he was only carrying the cans on his belt for the drinks - and the others mentally agree that it would have been in-character for him.
  • Shoto's knowledge of the hospital comes from spending the night there on a dare. Which wasn't even a dare, it was just a joke Mirio Togata made, and Shoto chose to stay there just to rub that fact in Togata's face.
  • When Shoto remarks that the hospital is really dangerous, Katsuki states that it's giving him bad vibes already - he considers the hospital a crime against aesthetics.
  • Shoto spreads some lubricant on a set of stairs just so he can amuse himself watching a Gardener fall off and break his neck. Izuku realizes that he now understands what Katsuki feels when witnessing Izuku's shenanigans.
  • After they fall into the Bone Dust Desert Elsewhere, Katsuki decides he'd rather find the exit than stay to see Izuku having a threesome with Ochako and Himiko. Then Izuku jokingly suggests he could instead have sex with Shoto.
Katsuki: I’m going to vomit. Also, I’m not gay, for fuck's sake, how many times do I have to say that, you...
Shoto: Finally, someone who understands me. You wouldn’t believe the lengths I went to in order to change his surname to match my own. Thankfully, it seems that my efforts are starting to pay off nowadays.
    • Then Katsuki shouts that he's actually dating Shoto's sister and cousin - which prompts Izuku to ask Shoto if his family is a cadet branch of the Habsburgs, causing Ochako and Himiko to chuckle.
    • Shoto clarifies they are different people - so Izuku tells Katsuki he has no grounds anymore to laugh at Izuku's romantic situation.
  • After the team's encounter with the Eldritch Abomination guarding the ziggurat, Shoto is left noseless due to corporal damage - and when Izuku mentions this, Shoto is surprised to learn that humans have noses.
    • As shown in the next chapter, Shoto is left believing that the others are actually pulling one on him with the nose thing.
  • Izuku gets grabbed by something and pulled through the ziggurat, until he lands in a completely dark room. Izuku laments not having a flashlight.
Izuku was 99% sure that Shoto Todoroki had a flashlight on him.
Izuku was 100% sure that he wasn’t Shoto Todoroki.
    • He tries to find his way through the room by waving his hands (to check for walls, presumably), only for something to ask (in a young girl's voice) what he's doing.
“I’m, uhm…” Izuku tries to figure out how to approach the situation. “... trying to figure out where I am.”
In a room.” The voice asks. There is something akin to vague surprise in her voice. The ‘I thought it was obvious’ surprise.
… oh god, the Princess he is currently meeting with is an eldritch abomination equivalent of Shoto Todoroki. Brilliant.
    • After naming the entity "Aiko", Izuku attempts to get anything useful out of her - but between her penchant for Mathematicians Answers and Literal Metaphors, he gives up the attempt. He then asks if she'll be able to take everyone home, and after he explains what "home" means, she decides to go with the Cabal.
  • The rest of the group reaches the room Izuku was taken to, and they hear Izuku and a girl having a conversation full of Innocent Innuendo. Shoto and Katsuki lament the blatant cliché.
  • The team's first vision of Aiko: a ten-year-old girl wearing a colorful dress, sitting on Izuku's lap, and eating an onigiri.
  • Shoto asks Aiko if she can tell them what she is without hurting them. Aiko says yes. After a few moments of silence, Shoto asks her to share it. She reveals she's the Outsider of Existence. Shoto's reaction is epic.
Thankfully for him, Shoto Todoroki expected bullshit. So he already planned the reaction beforehand.
Left arm, placed horizontally right beneath his chest.
Right arm, elbow resting on his left arm. Hand on the face. Eyes closed.
Then, a loud and exasperated sigh.
Midoriya.” He says, not even looking at him. His eyes are closed, because he just really, really, doesn’t want to look at him right now. “We were separated for about thirty minutes. Why is there a god on your lap, why is she referring to you as her oniichan and why are you feeding her your bento?
    • After a lecture on Demi-Powers, Aiko replies that she calls Izuku oniichan because he's bigger than her.
    • And then she asks for more food. She gets popcorn and cola from Shoto. She likes both.
Shoto Todoroki is so goddamn done with his current company.
  • Shoto is reluctant to take Aiko with them when they return to U.A. Then Aiko reveals she knows how people can become magisters. Shoto is now completely fine with bringing Aiko. Izuku just looks exasperated at the blatant bribery.
  • Some views of how invocation rituals work.
[Shoto] still remembers Kayama-sensei describing the whole invocation ritual as showing at someone’s doorstep and yelling their name while telling them to get out, until the person in question gets tired and pops out to see what’s the commotion about. Shoto Todoroki found that comparison incredibly funny.
  • Aiko gets the Cabal back to U.A. - but not the school proper. But the mythical Special Exclusion Zone - which can be modified at will by its owner, who becomes U.A.'s fifth Warlord upon laying claim to the zone.
“Well.” Izuku shrinks a little. “I think we’ve overdone it a little this time, didn’t we?
Shoto doesn’t blast him with his ice for this understatement of a century only because he doesn’t want to aggro the endgame boss sleeping in his arms.
  • Aiko reveals that the Principal is the Demi-Power of Rats, and that he likes seeing people struggling against bigger things than them. Izuku points out that This Explains So Much about U.A.'s curriculum.
  • Shoto's final summary of his experience.
Shoto: Midoriya, riddle me this. How the hell did hanging out with you for less than three weeks made me see and hear more unbelievable things than three years of being an ace student in Japan’s best magic school?
  • Shoto mentions that he doesn't want to become the Warlord because he just wants to deny his father's expectations.
Katsuki: Library Freak has daddy issues, what a great shock.
Shoto: That’s going to be your father as well when you marry Fuyumi. You’ll share daddy issues with me.
  • Toshinori makes good use of his time in the school office - while he makes people think he's working, he's actually done and just spends time playing solitaire and looking for cat pics.
  • When everyone at the school gets a message of Izuku claiming the Special Exclusion Zone, the Principal mentions that there's another method that requires finding clues around the school - including a certain screw.
  • Katsuki's first action when he enters Toshinori's office: hugging the man's couch.
  • It doesn't take long into Izuku telling what happened for Toshinori to find himself out of depth - and internally upgrade the lot of them from problem children to demon children.
Toshinori: Young Midoriya, you were sent to pick up some plants. How did you end up visiting two different dimensions in the process?!
    • When the story comes to the brainwashing, Toshinori cuts in by stating he's glad they didn't follow on the idea of freeing the entity... only to realize that they actually did when he realizes why Aiko is there.
    • Izuku tries to convince Toshinori that Aiko is friendly, only for Aiko to cut in with "I came here to pet Tsuyu... and end Mankind. And I don’t see Tsuyu." Everyone is terrified... until Izuku realizes what happened and tells Shoto to Dope Slap Katsuki. When Katsuki replies that Shoto was in on the joke, Izuku tells Shoto to Dope Slap himself.
    • When Izuku presents Toshinori to Aiko, Shoto pipes in with a "helpful" description of the teacher. Izuku Death Glares at Shoto, who Dope Slaps himself again.
    • Izuku mentions they defeated an aberrant, by which Toshinori thinks it might have been a smaller aberrant. Then Shoto gives its name as "Dragon of the Desert of Bones" and points out that it was a very powerful Greater Aberrant.
Todoroki decides to immediately remind him that he is dealing with the demon children.
    • By the time they are done, Toshinori makes a decision: from now on, Izuku isn't going on field trips unless Toshinori is there.
    • And, just to round it up, Izuku and Shoto decide to bribe Toshinori to be on their team on a long-term basis. Toshinori replies that, while he would normally laugh at the idea, he can't discard it anymore. Then Izuku brings up that Aiko knows the process to become a magister. And Shoto, that the Principal is the Demi-Power of Rats.
    Fifth Warlord
  • The Black Course social media have an absolute meltdown over "that insane new guy" (Izuku) becoming a Warlord.
  • Izuku discovering the Black Course's conspiracy theory board on him where they try to figure out how he achieved wild success so quickly. Izuku also discovers that Shoto "contributed" by theorising that he's an alien that's good at magic.
  • The one thing that makes Katsuki shiver: Izuku behind the DM Screen.
    • In order to break Himiko out of her habit to make lewd comments, Izuku has her put on more clothes every time she makes one. By the time the girls reach the end of the game, she's already wearing three pairs of gloves, a sweater, two jackets and a lot of socks. And she's still not breaking out of it.
  • Katsuki dropping the reveal that the female Warlords all have the hots for Shoto. Shoto then further clarifies that so does Warlord Monoma.
  • The UA Faculty's complete shock at what Izuku's Cabal got up to in their Elsewhere adventure. Aizawa actually calls it "a wild fanfiction".
  • After Ochako comes clean on her Stalker nature, Izuku decides that, as part of his apology for being a bad boyfriend, he will keep going until Ochako's fully satisfied. Next day morning, he's almost dying from the pain of pulling all of his muscles.
  • Shoto casually dropping Momo's and Saiko's kinks when sharing intel on the Warlords with his Cabal.
    • Katsuki's threat in response to this: set him up romantically with all the Warlords at the same time. Shoto agrees that it is a good threat.
  • The Cabal gets the Contribution Points payload from their Elsewhere run.
Izuku: That’s... a lot of zeroes.
Shoto: Congratulations. I believe that you have enough contribution points to spice up your next birthday party with some Warlords playing the role of hired strippers.
    (Katsuki Dope Slaps Shoto)
    • Shoto's comment prompts Katsuki to state that Izuku's influence is clearly pulling him out of asexuality, and to prove it he runs a scenario: if he saw Yaoyorozu and Intelli making out naked in his bed, what would he do?
Shoto: (looking down at the popcorn in his hands) Oh. I am getting influenced.
      • Shoto then begins to have an existential crisis because he's now in uncharted territories. To pull him out of it, Katsuki promises to teach him... how to use the browser's incognito mode to watch porn.
  • Izuku makes his first attempt at a fortress. There's no description, but it's made obvious that it was an incredibly lewd building.
    • After Izuku erases the "abomination in the eyes of gods and humans", Himiko declares she's keeping photos. Katsuki promptly runs after her to erase those photos.
      • Katsuki manages to catch up with her when Izuku creates a more normal fortress - and Himiko crashes into a wall.
    • Then Aiko drops a double bombshell: Izuku and her are full siblings, and their mother is the Ancient of Desire. Shoto begs for a seat so he can contemplate yet another change to his worldview.
Shoto: This is it. After this, nothing will ever faze me. I’ve reached the peak level of surprise and existential shock available to Mankind. And it’s all Midoriya’s fault. Just as it was his fault when I thought that I reached it the last ten times.
    • And when Shoto asks about Izuku's and her father, Aiko pouts because the Principal told her to keep it secret:
“I can’t say.” Aiko pouts a little. “Rats says no. Identity of my father, according to him, is a ‘surprise tool that will help us later’.”
Oh god, now the eldritch abominations were quoting Mickey Mouse memes. The world was going to end.
  • Shoto tells Katsuki about the last reveal.
Katsuki: Shitty Deku. If you die, I’m not waiting three days for you to respawn. I’m dousing you in holy water and putting a stake through your heart, so you and your horny ass stay fucking dead.
Izuku: Thank you, Kacchan, for your words of support.
    (Katsuki flips him the bird)
  • Katsuki and Shoto's quarters come with working televisions and wi-fi. Izuku is really mystified by that part.
  • The Warlord's Quarters at the Fortress are clearly equipped for everything Izuku might need. Particularly when it comes to pandering to the girls' fetishes.
  • Shoto sends Katsuki to buy a vehicle so the Cabal can move around together. He brings a Mine-Resistant Ambush Protected patrol car. Shoto is shocked by what he perceives as a betrayal from the Cabal's Only Sane Man.
    • When Shoto points out that he can, at least, count on Izuku topping this, Ibara doubts that. Katsuki, Shoto, and Himiko begin laughing at her skepticism.
    • Izuku comes back - and when he sees the MRAP Katsuki brought, he states that there's bound to be magic to fix his penis size.
    • He then reveals he has (somehow) managed to get Tokage's Cabal to become a subordinate of theirs. Katsuki and Shoto promptly sigh and do coordinated dabbing at the newest demonstration of what Shoto calls the Midoriya Experience.
    • Izuku tells Katsuki to carefully bring his monstrosity vehicle into the garage. Katsuki shouts at him to stop ordering him around while doing exactly as Izuku tells him to do. Ibara decides to nickname Katsuki "Tsundere" because of this, in revenge for the "Pregnancy Fetishist" nickname he uses for her. Shoto nearly dies of laughter overdose.
    Summit
  • After looking forward to it, Izuku rejects going to the Warlords' Summit. Why? Shoto tells him he has to wear a suit.
    • How does Shoto convince Izuku to put on the suit? Convince Ochako to convince Izuku by pointing out that she'll get to see Izuku wearing a suit.
  • The password for the Internet in the Frozen Palace is NoseBoopLmao.
    • Tsukiko mentions that Soma Michiko (Geten's elder sister) thought the event was so funny she not only had the password changed, she had her IT support modify all of Geten's devices so he would have to put the password in every time he connected to the Internet.
  • The Warlords discussing whether Izuku should be recognized as the Fifth Warlord. Particularly when Yaoyorozu and Intelli keep taking potshots at Monoma.
“For your own good.” Yaoyorozu replies. “Naturally, we are well too... cultured to do it... with one exception...” Monoma gives her a death glare over the table. “... but it’s completely possible for certain people to try to kill or kidnap you over the secret of how to access the Special Exclusion Zone.”
“Great.” Midoriya smiles. “Anyone volunteering to participate in the Himiko Toga Feeding Program is welcome, our charity is always open for more... donations.”
  • Shoto's grand plan to ensure Izuku comes ahead: trick the latter into using his Charm on Soma Michiko.
    • Soma revealing that she's got a rather particular fetish of her own.
      Soma Michiko: Come to mommy.
    • And she reveals to Izuku that she's wearing transparent underclothes while mothering him.
    • Shoto's reaction to all of this? Become surprised - he thought Soma was more into temperature play.
  • Izuku tries to get revenge on Shoto over his stunt by telling Intelli and Yaoyorozu a few things about him. It backfires - because they decide to make out in his bed while naked, while making clear he's welcome to join them. Shoto thanks Izuku the next day while wearing The Unsmile.
  • Toshinori's epic Freak Out when he learns about Aiko being Izuku's sister and about Izuku's mother being the Ancient of Desire herself: he gets out of the (stopped) car in the middle of the Frozen Hell, drops to the snow and rolls around while screaming loudly and incoherently for a minute, then returns to the car and drives away.
    Mankind Liberation Front
  • When the Principal wants to meet you, he will ensure you have to meet him. If he has to open a portal straight from your office to his, so be it.
    • When All Might realizes The Scottish Trope in regards to magister names doesn't work in Nedzu's office, he's got one thing in mind.
… this shouldn’t be possible. Once again, rules of the world are being broken in front of All Might, and somehow, Midoriya doesn’t seem to be involved this time around.
    • Nedzu informs All Might about Izuku being different in the aftermath of his meeting with Desire.
Oh, God. Not this. Izuku Midoriya being a ‘completely different form of being’ is just an advance warning for headaches to come.
“Different form of being?” All Might asks, almost against himself.
“He is no longer a human being carrying supernatural influences as he used to be.” Nedzu replies. “He became something distinctly different. But he isn’t a demihuman. He isn’t an aberrant, either lesser or greater. He isn’t a magister and he isn’t a heresiarch. He isn’t a Demi-Power. We’re clearly running out of terms here.”
Midoriya being hard to categorize by the established categories of the world sounded entirely in character to All Might.

Book Two

    A New Era
  • Himiko watches horror movies to cheer on the Serial Killer antagonist.
  • Ochako and Himiko have taken to pranking in order to get some petty revenge on each other.
  • Overlook is now so large that Izuku once got lost, and it took Ochako to find him.
  • When Izuku tries to claim he isn't that sex-obsessed, Katsuki prods him into admitting that Ibara's in her fourth month of pregnancy, Komori got pregnant during the celebration for Ibara's pregnancy two months before and that Komori's invited Izuku to celebrate it along with the other two new dryads. That's when Izuku realizes his friend may have a point (and that the dryads may actually be using him as a stud).
  • Shoto's away to train so he can become a Magister. Unfortunately, he's infected Aiko with his particular brand of idiosyncracies - namely his Pass the Popcorn Running Gag. When Katsuki complains, Aiko asks if he'd rather see her being infected with Izuku's brand. Katsuki is totally alright with Aiko imitating Shoto.
  • Izuku makes one last attempt to get out of making a speech to the new students, but Katsuki stares him into submission - all while Aiko keeps noisily eating her popcorn.
  • When Izuku returns to Aiko after giving the speech, Aiko says All Might - or, rather, "Father" - would be proud. Izuku tries to deny that the teacher is their father, only for All Might to show up. When Izuku asks what he's doing here, All Might points out the obvious.
All Might: I've unleashed you upon fourteen demihumans, eight of which are girls. You can imagine how worried I was the whole time?
    • Izuku complains about All Might's distrust of him, only for All Might to point out that, three weeks before, when he brought Izuku to meet a parent of a potential demihuman student for the Green Course, Izuku suddenly vanished and neither All Might nor said parent noticed until Izuku and said student started making loud noises.
      • Even better - it's later confirmed that this was Ko Yotsubashi, Rikiya Yotsubashi's daughter. Or, in other words, he banged Re-Destro's daughter while Re-Destro was literally in the next room.
    • When Izuku tries to point out that it all worked out in the end, All Might reminds him his little encounters not always work out in the end, such as what happened in Nabu. Izuku tries to cut short discussion of it (even stating it should be the Cabal's Noodle Incident) only for Aiko to reveal that Izuku "wasn't going to be the man in the relationship".
      • Izuku sarcastically thanks Aiko for bringing it up. Aiko deliberately acts as if she were Sarcasm-Blind because it is funnier.
      • A later chapter reveals that "Nabu" refers to an encounter with a Greater Aberrant, and Izuku jumped out of the window the moment he realized this.
    • Returning to the initial matter, Aiko "translates" All Might's comment as him coming so he could act as Izuku's father. When All Might attempts to reply (again) that he's not their father, Aiko points out that he's the only male of age around her, has been taking care of her and teaching her and even sharing dad jokes.
All Might: Just... stop... arguing. Do you have to be like this all the time?
Aiko: Forgive me daddy... for I was naughty.
Hearing his sister say those words, in Izuku's opinion, was incredibly cursed.
All Might: Who taught you that? I... just want to talk with them.
Aiko: And now you’re planning murder of people that corrupted the purity of thoughts and emotions of a young teenage girl that has been de facto a ward of yours. As I said, my dad.
    • All Might begs Izuku not to cause the Green Course to fail. Or, as he puts it, "don't fuck it up with your antics". Izuku sarcastically calls him "dad" in his answer, which All Might ignores.
    • All Might brings up a student that, according to the Principal, is "special". Both All Might and Izuku adopt "oh god, Rats' at it again" faces, while Aiko slurps loudly from a can of cola.
      • Izuku asks about the student (named Asa Shigaraki).
All Might: Well, he looks awfully similar to you. You can understand why I’m worried , right? It’s hard enough when I need to restrain one chaotic engine of destruction. Two might be a bit too much, even for a magister.
Izuku: I assure you that I’m completely and utterly unique. Also I call bullshit on the whole ‘looks similar to you’, just how much could he be...
All Might shows him a picture of Asa. He's pretty much Izuku but with white hair.
      • Izuku asks Aiko if there are no "shockingly terrifying revelations" about Asa's parentage. Aiko replies that, aside from the fact that Asa's their full-blooded brother, nope. Izuku has a Double Take at that, while All Might...
All Might: Oh, God. Things were calm for just half a year, this isn’t enough time for the faculty to emotionally recover from the bullshit that your Candidacy was! If Asa starts showering us with Midoriya Moments again, we’re going to get self-inflicted fatalities among the teachers!
      • Izuku has an idea on how to deal with Shigaraki. All Might asks "how incredibly stupid, insane and potentially destructive" the idea is.
  • Aiko welcomes one of the new cabals by presenting herself as Yagi Aiko, looking forward to All Might's face when someone calls her "Yagi".
  • Izuku and Katsuki are having a beer (because they are adults now) on one of the Overlook's external galleries. When Izuku notes how far things have come in the Time Skip, Katsuki sarcastically points out the Surface-to-Air Missile launcher just in their eyesight - which is only part of the military hardware the SEZ now contains, which includes tanks and attack helicopters.
    • Said hardware is in a base a few kilometers south of Overlook. Why? Because the noise would interrupt Tsuyu's naps.
    • Tank driving and helicopter piloting are elective subjects at U.A. Izuku really wants to take the former because it's too awesome to ignore.
    • When Izuku mentions missing Shoto, Katsuki replies that at least they aren't the ones that have suffered the most. Two months earlier, Kayama, Yamada and Aizawa were at the teacher's lounge when someone knocked on the door. Aizawa went to answer and quickly closed when he saw Emi Fukukado at the other side, choosing to jump out of the window to escape her - before Yamada could point out that it was an illusion. Cue Aizawa falling into Fukukado's cunning trap.
    • Katsuki wonders how they managed to get their hands on blueprints for all that military hardware. Izuku explains that Aizawa donated everything to the school from a previous mission - and All Might stated that they also had blueprints for fighter jets and armored patrol boats, but the teachers had to draw a line somewhere.
    • Izuku remembers that Katsuki was meant to present Fuyumi and Moe to his parents that week, but Katsuki insists that it didn't happen. Three days before, Katsuki was telling his parents about being in a relationship with both women, only to find that his parents are not only not angry, but proud... because Masaru was in a polyamorous relationship with Mitsuki, her twin sister and other two girls that he only stopped because he was being forced to settle for one of them, which led to what Mitsuki describes as the wildest night of her life. While both Fuyumi and Moe laughed, Katsuki screamed at (a) the Parental Sexuality Squick angle and (b) the fact that polyamorous relationships are actually In the Blood instead of being Izuku's fault.
  • Since Izuku can't drive yet, he needs a designated driver. When he goes to meet the dryads, the driver is Hagakure.
    • When Hagakure attempts to begin to go over the speed limit, Izuku stops her, reminding her that she is the reason they now have speed limits, because she once drove an armored car on a narrow asphalt road at an average speed of 150 km/h - and was actually trying to drift at every bend. And, to make things worse, a driver (later revealed to be Yoarashi) shouted at her from the side of the road that she was going too fast - so she stopped her car right there so she could engage in a fistfight with said driver.
    • When Izuku asks, suspicious, if she's actually wearing clothes, Hagakure replies that yes, she's wearing her mirrorwoven clothes. Izuku pulls out a hand mirror, and realizes that, yes, she's driving naked. Hagakure replies that she's clothed - she's wearing her boots! And Izuku can't even say it's his Charm, because Hagakure just likes going naked. And he would like to ask something like "why is everyone I know so weird", but he knows that it would make him a big fat hypocrite.
    • When the duo approaches the checkpoint, Inasa Yoarashi demands to know who is approaching. Hagakure sticks her body out of the window to scream at him for not noticing the invisible driver. Izuku takes advantage of the moment to check out her ass.
Yoarashi: OH HOW LOVELY TO SEE YOU, HAGAKURE! BEFORE I LET YOU IN I NEED TO KNOW YOUR DESTINATION TO NOTE DOWN THE REASON FOR OPENING THE GATE IN THE REPORT FROM MY SHIFT. SO, WHERE ARE YOU HEADING TO?
Hagakure: I’M HEADING TO YOUR HOME SO THAT I CAN THUMP YOUR FUCKING MOM IN THE ASS! OPEN THOSE GODDAMN GATES OR I’M GOING TO RAM THEM OPEN LIKE I DID HER FRONT ENTRANCE!
Yoarashi: THE DESTINATION YOU PROVIDED ISN’T A CORRECT ONE, FOR MY MOTHER DOES NOT LIVE IN THIS DIRECTION! TRY AGAIN!
    • When Izuku points out that she shouldn't have punched Yoarashi in the face, Hagakure tells him to stick to staring at her ass while she focuses on Yoarashi. Izuku accepts the deal.
    • After Hagakure points out she's carrying Izuku, Yoarashi screams to a subordinate to open the gate. Said subordinate is standing next to him.
    • When they find a bison herd blocking the road, Izuku and Hagakure consider whether to take a side road when a wyvern attacks and kills one of the bisons, scattering the rest of the herd. Izuku calls Yoarashi - who doesn't hold back even while on the phone.
  • While Izuku talks to his unborn child with Ibara, he states he's "an unashamed harem protagonist", much to Ibara's exasperation.
    • When it turns out Hagakure is hiding just enough away to listen in on them, Ibara sets the puppies of the huge wolf she tamed on her for pranking reasons - only for Hagakure to just hug one of them and enjoy as both puppies (who are the size of large wolves) keep licking the invisible girl.
  • When Izuku brings up the pattern he's found with dryads inviting him to a pregnancy party so other dryads will also get pregnant from him, Ibara reveals it's more or less true - and that someone's been gossiping in U.A.'s intranet that demihumans that have sex with Izuku become stronger.
  • Izuku reveals one of the reasons he's glad the influences in him are gone: he no longer has to wear sunglasses everywhere.
  • Thanks to the power of the Special Exclusion Zone, Izuku can now create actual dungeons, like straight out of a videogame. But don't call them "dungeons", call them "training zones".
    Rabbit Protection Squad
  • Aiko begins her work as mentor to Asa's Cabal by telling them they are moving to the Green Tower - and then refusing to tell them what the Green Tower is or where it is. Just so she can have fun seeing them work it out themselves.
  • When Yoshihiro and Takei go out to find answers about their new goal, they return feeling quite awkward - and Rai reveals that three people asked Ryuu out. Well, one person asked him out - the other two asked for workout tips while Eating the Eye Candy, and Ryuu didn't even notice.
    • When Yoshihiro asks Takei if he's ever been asked out by anyone, the latter states that not this often, because the usual rate was "twice". Yoshihiro asks if he means per semester, but Takei remains silent, clearly implying it was very often.
  • Yotsubashi needles Yoshihiro with the image of them having to camp with the dryads, just to enjoy his mind fighting between his Fantastic Racism and his mommy issues.
  • This description:
Since they are not Midoriya, the weirdest part of the whole thing is having theoretical classes for something as important as the arts of the initiated through internet.
  • When the Cabal seeks gear for their expedition and stay in the Green Tower, they have trouble finding a helmet that fits Asa "without making him look like a child that wore his father's stuff to look older".
    • The group can't get grenades because they aren't trained yet.
UA might be rather insane as a rule, but they aren't actively suicidal.
  • In order to get a truck driver to let the group hitch a ride to the Green Tower, Yoshihiro is forced to buy a can of soda for the driver.
  • When Yoshihiro asks how Asa and Rini got together, the latter blushes and reacts with He Is Not My Boyfriend, prompting Yotsubashi to state they give different vibes. Rini gives her a Death Glare until Yotsubashi withdraws - and Aiko mentally complains that she didn't get the popcorn out in time.
    • Aiko is also doing the whole popcorn thing because she considers Shoto hilarious and is doing her best to impersonate him.
    • When they arrive to the Tower, Aiko complains that they never got to the good stuff.
  • Their welcome committee is a pair of dryads, and only Yoshihiro puts on a gas mask. Yotsubashi didn't even realize they might need it, Miyuki is naturally immune due to her knowledge of the Lore of Poison, Rini and Asa trust Izuku and Aiko, Aiko just makes her body forget it needs oxygen... and Takei just holds his breath until he can be certain of what to do.
    • The two dryads proceed to mention several rules that seem to come straight out of horror creepypastas... while Aiko slurps her cola because she knows the dryads are just pranking the Cabal. Cue Komori coming up to them and dope slapping one of them.
    • When Komori confirms that the rules about "faceless people" are bunk, Yoshihiro tricks Komori into thinking there's an actual faceless person behind her, causing him and the others to crack up laughing when the dryad falls for it.
  • When the Cabal is given their living space, it's cramped enough that Aiko figures it was done in purpose just so Yoshihiro will have to see Yotsubashi and Rini many times a day.
  • The rumors on Izuku causing demihumans to become stronger by sleeping with them? Aiko started them. Along with many others. As "Human Being". And she's bribed Izuku's chief support artificer so the latter will always "fail to trace" Human Being's real identity.
    • She also uses the fact that she doesn't need to sleep to spend the entire night searching the Internet for memes and laughs.
    • The one limit imposed in Aiko's internet surfing:
Aiko is still slightly salty about Rats and her dad blacklisting 4chan from her computer’s internet browser. That was such a fertile field for her research.
  • Aiko reveals the Cabal's first mission is to go to Cold Black. True to her previous move, she not only doesn't give them any information about the place, but ensures that they can't get any other info other than where the place this. All for the sake of teaching them how to survive. And for fun's sake.
  • When they walk through the forest, Yotsubashi immediately jokes that they need to be careful not to lose Yoshihiro, since he's from Tokyo. Yoshihiro fires back by stating that not only does he have experience in woodland survival training, but Yotsubashi is from Kyoto.
    • Yoshihiro becomes super-smug when Komori agrees with his analysis of the situation. Aiko describes it as a "monoma face", with "monoma" standing for "punchable".
    • During the walk, a hare decides to get into a stare contest with Rini.
  • The Cabal arrives to Cold Black, which looks like a hole that is bleeding. Aiko hopes that the first thing that comes to their minds is a bleeding mouth, instead of the other yucky options. Aiko berates herself for thinking about said options, literally pulls those thoughts out of her mind to kick them into a bush, and rewires her mind just so she won't make the same mistake for the next hour. And she realizes she really doesn't know what she just forgot.
  • Entering Cold Black, the Cabal gets into a discussion when Yoshihiro states he doesn't trust Asa to lead the raid. Rini gets angry, but when Asa says Yoshihiro is right, Rini does a one-eighty and agrees with Asa. When Yoshihiro insults Rini, Aiko pulls out the popcorn and starts eating from her place next to Takei. Who is also eating popcorn.
  • The group spends twenty minutes deciding how to operate in the cave, expecting it to be horribly dangerous - only to meet a transparent wall that states they're entering a dungeon called Cold Black along with a leaderboard for previous challengers.
    • Most of the times in the leaderboard are between two and three hours. The top group, who did it in twenty-seven minutes? Izuku's Cabal. As "Horny Jail". Aiko reveals it was Katsuki who suggested it.
    • When Asa suggests they should name their party, Yoshihiro suggests "Yoshihiro and the Idiots", amending it to "Yoshihiro, Tagawa, Ryuu and the Idiots". Then Rini intervenes and demands to know why he's calling Asa an idiot. Cue Delayed Reaction from Yotsubashi when she realizes Rini agrees with Yoshihiro in calling both of them idiots.
    • Rini suggests "Rabbit Protection Squad", saying the "Rabbit" is meant to be Asa. When Tagawa states it can be just a placeholder, Aiko laments that party names are not permanent because if they were she could have lots of fun telling them it wasn't and then watching their reactions.
    • Then the issue of names comes up. When Yoshihiro tries to claim "Mastermind", Yotsubashi proceeds to deliberately call him "Megamind", even if "he isn't bald and blue enough".
  • The last exchange before the group enters.
Yoshihiro: Any last words before entering?
Aiko: Pneumonoultramicroscopicsilicovolcanoconiosis. (all eyes converge on her) What? I always wanted to say that word.
  • The Cabal encounters Fumikage Tokoyami, a Warlock (an Initiate that makes a deal with an Entity to gain extra power) of the Demigod of Darkness, and has to retreat. When Aiko reports to Izuku, he states his disbelief, since Tokoyami is supposed to be an Urban Legend — all while All Might and Katsuki munch on popcorn, eager to see Izuku having to deal with a Midoriya Moment.
    • How Tokoyami became a Warlock: the Demigod of Darkness was surfing the net when it saw Tokoyami's goth poetry about "becoming one with the Darkness" and the Demigod decided that counted as a contract. Izuku and Katsuki simultaneously Face Palm.
  • When the Spider from the Forest of Red attacks the expedition, Izuku deals with it - by ripping it apart and stabbing it with its own legs in thirty seconds. Then he realizes Yotsubashi and Naoki were watching, and puts a finger to his lips.
Izuku: Oops. This is going to be our little secret, got it?
    Gunga Mountain War
  • Aiko mentions betting her liver about something, but also notes that, since she can regrow her liver, so it isn't much of a stake.
  • Once more, the principal shows that, when he wants to meet someone, he will - as he proves when he teleports All Might while he's in the mid of brushing his teeth and only half-dressed, much to the man's displeasure.
  • Yoshihiro's brother comes to visit, and most of the others decide to sneak around to follow him. Yoshihiro promptly sneaks around them to surprise the group.
    • And what he brings? His daughter with a demi-human of Filth. Which is pretty much a human-like mass of sludge.
    • Yoshihiro's explanation for something that is completely out of his schemas?
Yoshihiro Rai: It has to be a dream! I’m asleep! This has to be one of those lucid dreams, right? You’re all not real!
    • Asa Shigaraki then convinces him to do otherwise... by telling him that maybe it's their combined lucid dream and they're being tested on an outlandish scenario.
      • This turns out to be Gone Horribly Right, because Yoshihiro decides to act the doting uncle, which Naoki considers really disturbing.
      • When Aiko asks Naoki why she isn't recording it, she claims that it would be way too nasty, even for her. After Aiko gives her a questioning look, Naoki admits she's not doing it because Asa asked her not to.
    • And when Aiko tells Izuku about it... she tells him that she's found "a superior specimen of strange fuckers".
  • After a murder appears to have been caused by a ghoul, Izuku tells them it couldn't be Himiko, and he can prove it because he has security cameras in his quarters.
"You have cameras in your personal quarters?" All Might asks, his brow raised. Is he suspecting Izuku of placing them for recording their sextapes or something? Is his opinion about his son this low?
Who uses security cameras to record having sex with someone unless it’s for blackmailing purposes?
You need proper cameras for that. And much better placed ones. And for the full experience you also need to record sounds, and the security cameras don’t record the audio.
    Izuku has standards.
  • When speaking about the people in the "establishment", All Might wonders if Kan will be able to get them to speak with him, only for Izuku to point out that, with some of them, the issue will be if they speak too much. All Might immediately asks Izuku if he slept with all the girls at the "establishment".
  • Michiko calls Izuku with important news. He promptly calls All Might, who immediately suspects something's wrong.
Izuku: Look, err, you remember how I’m apparently a Godling of Desire?
All Might: It’s really hard not to notice.
Izuku: Well, do you remember how Desire’s domain apparently covers fertility too?
All Might: Yes? (All Might gets why Izuku's calling) I won’t like where it's going, won’t I?
Izuku: Well... Humans normally can’t procreate with the cold ones, as they are too different biologically. But, errr, with the temp-off spell and my own nature, you see... Michi just called me and...
    (All Might face palms)
All Might: Please tell me that you didn’t get your MILF pregnant, Midoriya.
Izuku: Well, err... Anyway, I’m going to be spending a while in my personal lodge by the Frozen Palace, to... you know, do stuff.
    • All Might's punishment for Izuku? Mandatory sex-ed lecture. With Kayama-sensei.
Izuku slightly dies on the inside.
      • As it turns out, it's even worse... because Kayama spent four hours giving him the sex-ed talk... in the "The Birds and the Bees" style.
  • Soma learned that one of her courtiers really liked Izuku, so, to prove she wasn't clingy, she let said courtier meet Izuku alone. And, since they were under the temp-off spell, things slowly got heated up, clothes went off... and Izuku found out too late that said courtier was actually a guy. And yet Izuku still slept with him. When Hagakure realizes this, she keeps cackling non-stop for two straight minutes.
    • And, as a result, Izuku considers that guy his Arch-Enemy - who doesn't bother hiding how much he loves to troll Izuku.
  • Yotsubashi and Aiko are trying to set up the former's aunt with All Might. All Might asks Izuku why Aiko keeps sending him drawings of dragons with notes about how awesome dragons are.
    • Which then sets up Izuku making a dad joke.
      All Might: I’m confused.
      Izuku: Hello confused, I’m son.
(All Might hangs up while Izuku cackles)
  • Rai finally experiences the full horror of the fact his brother is married to and had sex with a Sludge in Chapter 82.
  • The first half of Chapter 83 is all about Aiko revealing to Izuku that she and Ko are not only together, but also having sex - and both girls then Troll the fuck out of Izuku, who is left completely horrified by the entire list of things they are sharing. And Aiko crowns it all by having everyone but Izuku pull out a popcorn bag.
  • As part of her efforts to convince All Might to try dating Ko's dragon aunt, Aiko got into his apartment and filled it with dragon-themed clothes and mugs.
  • Aizawa is taking Fukukado, Aiko, and Ko to Deika City (Ko wants to show off to Aiko). Then the girls start to ask Are We There Yet? - even though, as Aizawa points out, they are stopped at a traffic light. Three seconds after the traffic light goes green, Fukukado asks Are We There Yet?
  • According to Fukukado, one day she went to Alternate Tokyo and almost got shanked by a graffiti.
  • When Izuku rips Hatsume's arm using the Multi-Strike spell, she asks how it fits with his Godling of Desire shtick.
“Oh, you know, it works with all sorts of bodily movements now,” Midoriya replies. When she stares at him with complete lack of understanding on her face (she actually regenerated it by now), he grabs her missing arm, straightens up while crossing his arms behind his head… and does a few thrusting motions with his hips. While winking at her seductively.

Her emotional core returns nothing but utter existential horror at the very idea of embarrassing herself and her new god by getting defeated by that irrational manslut.
  • During his date with Ryuko Tatsuma, All Might lists out the people Izuku's slept with. It's very long.
“During the past six months, he has slept with a ghoul, his own stalker, a mirrorling, two dryads, a fallen celestial that you know, and two cold ones including one that is not only older than him but also has a severe mommy fetish, and one that is a very feminine and extremely gay man.” All Might replies. The list is far from over, and a sick and twisted part of him enjoys the occasion to dump it on someone so that he won’t have to suffer alone. “Then you have twenty-two beastkins, which includes seven feline morphs, five canine morphs, three vulpine morphs, two bovine morphs whom likely attracted him due to their sizable upper assets, and five others.”
Tatsuma’s eyes grow significantly wider now. Yeah, that’s the appropriate reaction. And he’s far from being done.
“Then you have two darklings, one unfallen celestial, two nymphs, one sylph and four mimics.” All Might continues. He doesn’t add that the numbers here were much lower than the beastkin not because his son was picky but because those were much harder to find. “Next on the list are two shapeshifters, including one which was apparently presenting as a woman with an additional set of male genitals.” Finally he manages to make her open her mouth in shock. “Next category are four machinists.”
“But… they don’t have a physical body?” She finally ends up speaking.
“That has yet to deter my son from achieving the desired objective for the evening.” All Might replies dryly, making her blink in shock. “They can possess machines and that’s been enough for him. And even that’s optional as he has proven to me by indulging in frequent and rather extreme sexting with what I’m almost certain is a ghost of a lonely girl trapped in some otherwise completely forgotten internet chatroom. Then there’s the Greater Aberrant…”
“The what?” Tatsuma manages to say. Well, more like mouth it, but he managed to understand it, so he decided to clear any potential misunderstandings.
“In his defense, he escaped out of the window the second he realized what he was dealing with.” All Might replies. “Other than that, it’s a family secret. And what happens on Nabu island stays on Nabu island.” She blinks at him in shock one more time. “This is far from the full list, by the way, and he is yet to go after any Lesser Aberrants that’s capable of having anything resembling sex, mostly because I absolutely forbid him from summoning or getting involved in summoning of anything if the purpose of it is to get laid.”
  • Tatsuma is shocked that All Might was speaking the truth when he meant their date to be a romantic date. She ducks into the bathroom and calls Chitose for help, because she hasn't had an actual date in eighty years.
  • When, in the aftermath of Juggernaut's death, Rini and Yoshihiro decide to break off their usual enmity and joke around, Asa and Tagawa check if the others are sick or something.
  • Yoshihiro decides to reveal he's gay (and keeps the fact that he's uninterested in relationships, at least at the moment). Rini points out that this means that his mother (who is even more racist than Yoshihiro) will only have sludges as biological grandchildren. Yoshihiro cracks up laughing at the idea.
  • Asa and Tagawa bond over one thing: the fact they both planned to kill (some of) their classmates at their pre-U.A. schools.

Book Three

    Back Into The Saddle
  • When Izuku visits the United States with Himiko, the Americans are somewhat nonchalant about it because they've seen "tamed" ghouls already. Mostly because a magister fed them and used them as assassins.
    • Turns out, vampirism here is an infection propagated by blood transmission. Himiko gets vaccinated. Izuku compares vampires to the ones in Darkest Dungeon.
  • Izuku could tell that the head of security of the magical airport knew who/what Ryukyu and Aiko were by the looks he kept giving them - and how much he was sweating.
  • When Ryukyu takes the family to visit the Ascendant of Murder, Izuku ponders if he expected "a smaller and cuter version of Konrad Curze" before thinking no - that's actually his brother Asa.
  • Even after all the sexual shenanigans he's got into, Izuku still finds All Might getting intimate with Ryukyu horrifying.
  • Izuku convinces All Might to let him go to a nightclub frequented by demihumans. All Might concedes - as long as he takes Asa with him, because he hopes the two siblings will cancel each other.
  • When Asa calls Izuku while at the nightclub, he complains that he was about to get it on with two Cat Girls - when he sees Asa with a twenty-year-old guy tied up and unconscious. Izuku immediately thinks that Asa's actually there to be with said twenty-year-old.
    • Izuku states that they're going to leave the guy where he is. Then Asa reveals that the guy was slipping roofies into other girls' drinks. Gilligan Cut to them putting the punk in the trunk and getting in their car.
      • When Himiko (who is driving) asks about that, Izuku thinks that something is really wrong with his life.
      • The next day, All Might brings out a newspaper and asks if anyone wants to explain a certain something on it. Izuku grabs it and decides to Troll his father. All Might and Ryukyu fall for it.
Izuku: Let’s see... "Scandal breaks out in the hotel as it’s accused of recording the sex life of its visitors, including a Japanese magister visiting..."
      • As All Might points out at the Department of Eschatology finding the remains of the guy Asa kidnapped, he decides to put both him and Izuku in house arrest. Izuku complains because he wouldn't do that to Aiko - only for All Might to reply that of course he wouldn't, because Aiko actually behaves like an adult.
  • Aiko and Ko have twin children. Just for the lulz, they went off on their own for several months so no one could know who was the one that gave birth.
Narration: Giving Aiko access to Ko Yotsubashi’s financial fortune and, well, Ryuko Tatsuma’s secret influence because she found their antics hilarious, has elevated her ‘practical jokes’ to an absolutely worrying level.
  • After Nezu states that the only way to rescue All Might is for Aiko, Asa, and Izuku to mount what is pretty much a Suicide Mission, Ryukyu grabs Nezu and squeezes. Nezu doesn't even bother to show any lack of comfort even as his eye pops out (and he still speaks through the empty eye socket).
Nezu: That’s very excessive, my dear. You do realize that it’s just a waste of time? I cannot die.
Ryukyu: It might be a waste of time. But it’s an enjoyable waste of time.
    • Ryukyu mentions the reason behind her hatred of Nezu: Nezu took Ryukyu's place in the evacuation boat from Port Arthur just moments before China was sunk, which forced her to join a White Russian army during the Russian Civil War.
Izuku's Narration: Okay, now that Izuku thinks about it, that’s a perfect reason to squeeze the rat like this.
    • Izuku states he intends to go on the Suicide Mission. Aiko does as well... but just can't resist being a Moment Killer.
Aiko: Dad’s the absolute definition of ‘based’ and ‘chad’ to me. To not do the same to save him would have made me into my own definition of cringe and would be a massive weirdchamp moment.
Izuku's Narration: Did she seriously have to use so many… of those words? In such a moment? Ugh. It somehow ruined the somber mood for Izuku.
    • When Nezu interrupts a bonding moment between Ryukyu, Aiko, and Izuku, Ryukyu slaps the former into a wall.
    • Ryukyu begins to speak of a magical device they can use to force Hatsume into helping them.
Ryukyu: So, during the last Dawn War, the Enemy got pretty creative and tried to defeat humanity with humanity.
Aiko: I’ve been on a few political subreddits. I can see that working.
    • When Ryukyu mentions Roman von Ungern-Sternberg, Aiko mentions some facts about the guy, and Izuku mentions that's a videogame plot. He's shocked to learn that all the weird shit the guy did was all too real.
    • As they finish the conversation, Nezu states that they can easily use Hatsume as someone they can get rid of if they need to escape. Ryukyu splatters him into his desk.
Nezu: What did I do this time?
      Ryukyu: Force of habit.
    Suicide Mission
  • Due to there being two Todorokis in the group, Izuku labels them "Better" and "Worse" Todoroki (the latter being Shoto).
  • When the group finds a potential clue that could be hidden behind a gate:
Shoto: I have a plan. (presses a button. The button does nothing) I no longer have a plan.
    • Hatsume determines that the gate can only be opened by making someone else physically suffer through torture - and stalls Rabbit by pointing out she can no longer suffer physically.
    • Izuku solves this in his own... idiosyncratic way: hardcore S/M session with Ochako. It works. And Hatsume hits the wall with her head while complaining about how absurd it was.
  • When Malice detects that the group is in his bunker, he looks back into the past to see how they managed it... and is so disturbed that Izuku managed to turn literal torture into something loving, since Ochako is a Stalker, that he wishes that he had some Brain Bleach that would work on him.
