Funny / Whammy! The All-New Press Your Luck

  • In Whammy!'s second season, as Todd Newton stood on the edge of the contestant island and explained the rules, the island would rotate for the players to face the Big Board. Graham Elwood, of Cram fame, apparently didn't know this. When time came for him to host the April Fools' Day episode in 2003, as Elwood explained the rules, the island began to rotate, causing him to cry out in shock and grab the podium for support.
  • A lot of the Whammy animations. Like Don Whammy, who mutters "don't ever press your luck with the family!". Then there's the failed bungee-jumping attempt ("bungie-bungie-bungie!"), the Ozzy Osbourne Whammy ("I'm (bleep) fabulous!") the Weakest Link parody ("Who's one spin short of being the winner? Bye-bye."), etc.
  • The Double Whammies, which included a potshot at Enron (shredded money), a Whammy barista (coffee beans and sometimes foam coffee cups), the Whammy's failed attempt at firing himself out of a cannon (Whammy fur and teeth), Whammy attempting to venture into an attic (underwear), Whammy preparing a pizza (pizza dough and sometimes flour) and WHAMZILLA! (foam buildings).
  • The reaction to Michael Larson's brother hitting Big Bank, in round one:
(Todd makes a "You Have GOT to Be Kidding Me!" face)
Ed: I've seen this before, Todd.
Todd: I know you have, Ed.
  • The episode with a contestant named Billy who had a tall mohawk; at the start of the show, Todd asked if he could feel his hair. But he walked right past Billy and touched nearby contestant Tannon's short hair instead.
    • When Billy started to do well on the board: "The power of the mohawk! I feel it!"
  • After one contestant gets a Double Whammy that dumps popcorn on their head, Todd jokes, "Make sure you brought enough to share with the rest of the class."
  • In the Heather/Janet/Don episode, the last question is which position Michael Bloomberg took over in January 2002. Don buzzed in and said "Something dealing with the Dow, Industrial Average or something." This is listed as "Dow Jones Something" in the three choices.
  • On one episode, Todd accidentally called Gary Kroeger "Greg", causing Gary to snark, "Thanks, Ted."
  • On one episode, Todd asked "What type of vehicles are used to compete in the legendary Tour De France?" Alan buzzed in, hesitated for a bit, and answered “SUVs.”
    • The kicker, he went on to win.
  • Todd's response when he learns a contestant wants to use the money to get nipple implants
Todd: (visibly uncomfortable) Period, moving on.
  • The audience booing the Whammys when Todd announces that more Whammys are being added to the board in the first round.
