    Chapters

Chapters

  • Hotaru's introductory episode involves her, her brother Jun and Minagawa. A mere second Minagawa clings her arm around Jun, she utterly loses her shit. And when she thinks Jun is going to reject Minagawa, she literally screams internally when it's not the case.
  • Minagawa may be able to wait for months for Furuya to reply to her confession, but even she has little tolerance for Shibasaki's antics and makes it clear she expects Shibasaki to comply with a task.
  • The entirety of "Trap." Hotaru tries to interfere with her brother's "relationship" with Minagawa by using his phone to text to her to "not bother him with his studies." Unfortunately for her, one look at the text is all it takes for Minagawa to know that it's her. What follows is Minagawa making it sound like her relationship with Furuya is farther than it actually is. What's better is that she more or less had to spell it out for it to finally register for Hotaru, who actually had to put the phone down for a second to let it sink in before she lets out the internal screaming. And when Hotaru tries to salvage her sanity, Minagawa denies her the chance by declaring "I've only ever slept. With.You. ♥"
  • Minagawa's response to Takase messing up his chance to confess to Kanda: "You suck."
  • Any chapter Katori gets a role in is bound to get laughs. From his sheer confidence in every word he says, to his over exaggerated "cool guy" gag, to the fact that he managed to make a girl fall for him acting like this, he's a whirlwind of a boy whose actions can't be predicted, but always bring out the best.
    • "Love Master", the strip that kickstarts Katori and Kazuko's strange interactions, takes the cake. Especially when she goes in to hug him and he pulls out a Flash Step with no prior warning.
    • Katori offers to let Akagi vent his frustrations at him by punching him. After Katori acts like his usual self, Akagi doesn't even hesitate to do so.
  • Yamane and Motoyama are so in sync with each other that they've learned Morse Code to speak in secret, somehow, offscreen. Motoyama puts it to good use encouraging Yamane. Yamane responds by crying out to his friend in joy. Also in Morse Code.
  • The boys comparing dicks with each other during the Hot Springs Episode. A couple of them get too enthusiastic about the whole thing.
  • During "Charisma", the character introductions for the main characters in this chapter couldn't be any more different. Takano is given her name, but Katori is introduced with all question marks in place of his name.
  • One of the bonus 4komas has everyone talk about love during the school trip. Well, almost everyone; that being, Noro, Onizuka, and Takase having trouble with a cockroach and screaming their heads off for the whole strip.
  • "Cultural Festival" has Chiaki's mother take an uncharacteristically wild photo during the school festival, and sends it to Chiaki himself. The look on his face is all you need to know to understand secondhand embarrassment from your parent.
  • Keisuke meets Patty's father via video chat to talk about his plans for their relationship. He almost immediately regrets it, as daddy dearest is a hulking muscle of a man and his first words to the boy are a disgruntled "What?!".

    Omake

Omake charts

At the end of some of the omakes, it gives a chart of all the people introduced so far and their particular opinion on a subject. While some generally adhere to the subject, others just respond to somebody else's comments.
  • Despite this, there are answers that are cut above the rest. The Light Music Club's are just priceless.
    • One of the charts asks the question: What is your favourite Yo-kai Watch monster? Ubakata draws an animal, Junpei draws Frieza, Satoshi draws a crappily done pinup girl, and Shinji draws poop.
    • For the question "What would you do if the world ended today?" all three of them answer "Sex". Sano calls them "the virginiest virgins".
    • To the question of "What makes you appealing to the opposite sex?": They all answer "My Dick". Sano continues to call them out on their virginity.
  • Shibasaki and her Paper-Thin Disguise persona Miss Wabisabi are allowed separate panels. Every time.
  • Katori's complete confidence in his appeal, and Kazuko repeatedly backing him up.
To "What makes you appealing to the opposite sex?": Can't you tell just by looking?
Kazuko: He's so bright, he's blinding!!
    • Kazuko is Ayane's best friend and Ayane tends to think very ill of Katori so her answers in Q&A sections before volume 3 are more often than not responses to their answers.
      "What's something you dislike?"
Katori: "Hmm... I'd have to say... the tears of a kitten?"
Kazuko: "Oh, if only it could rain... if only I could hide these tears of mine from this man..."
Ayane: (irritated profile picture) "This development."
  • Every end of the compiled volumes features a picture of a girl, followed by Katori in the same pose, in his own little way. There is one exception:
Katori: Looking for something interesting? Besides me, that is.

    Anime

Anime

  • In Episode 1, Kaji tries to sell a kiss to Akagi for money. When he immediately asks how much, she freezes and awkwardly looks to the side before answering 100,000 yen (about $1000). Akagi pulls out the money before she's even finished talking.
  • In episode 2, Hotaru (Jun Furuya's little sister) is VERY annoyed to the fact Minagawa is flirting with Jun. Hotaru even gets a Blue with Shock face when Jun mentioned he's thinking about marriage.
  • Near the end of her introductory section in episode 3, Ayane drop kicked Katori to his face just before the screen goes black. Keep in mind, Ayane just punched his face earlier, left and right. One must wonder if Katori is a masochist.note
    • He spends his first twenty seconds on-screen going through at least 7-8 poses for no reason (although he is the Drama Club President).
  • In the manga, Yamane introduces himself to Kurihara by awkwardly getting between her and the pervert on the bus. In the episode 3 adaptation, he outright bumps the man out of shot.
  • In the English dub of episode 3 Chiaki defends his talking about the dump he took by saying 'everybody poops, they wrote a book about it.'
  • In episode 4, Kana & Chiaki were about to "do it", but Chiaki's mom interrupted their intimacy.
    • Before Kana went to Chiaki's house, her mom gave her a condom, by the way.
  • In episode 5, Kanda & Takase are texting each other. Both are so awkward, it takes several attempts for each of them to send their texts. On the last text, Takase accidentally sent his text about "People who use texting to ask somebody else to be their lover are the worst." to Kanda. And Kanda herself FINALLY confesses that she likes Takase, yet she reads Takase's aforementioned text. Both of them turn pale.
  • In episode 6, everything about Kazuko and Katori's segment:
    • Kazuko is at first weirded out by Katori's Love Master shtick, but starts to fall in love with him from his cheesy one-liners.
    • When Kazuko tries to hug him, she ends up slipping because Katori somehow has the ability to leave after images.
    • Kazuko tries to climb a tree and winds up falling from it in a desperate attempt to get Katori's attention. He tries to catch her. Alas, he got an elbow drop to the kidney instead.
    • He coughs up something that looks like blood. He reassures Kazuko that it's just sauce from what he ate for lunch, all the while with his hammy-ness.
  • In episode 7, we can finally enjoy an animated version of the manga chapter "Trap". The scream Hotaru unleashes when tricked into thinking Jun got Minagawa pregnant is epic.
    • Continued from Kanda & Takase's segment in episode 5, things gets awkward between them. Takase finally got some advice about his situation... from Katori (yet Takase doesn't even know who he is).
  • In episode 8 Chiaki kisses Kana... on the nose.
    • He wanted to retry, but everyone around them already stared with piercing glares.
    • Again, Katori and Kazuko. And this time, Kazuko can keep up with Katori's afterimage.
  • In episode 9, on a park bench, Ayaka wants to retry her first kiss with Takeru by pretending she's sleepy, then leaning on Takeru's shoulder, and finally resting her head on Takeru's lap. Just when she thinks that her gesture will lure Takeru to kiss her, turns out Takeru is the one who dozes off. She thinks Takeru's head will get close enough to kiss her, but he woke up & apologized for almost kissing her.
  • In episode 10, Ayaka's jealousy towards Takeru who arm wrestles with Patricia. Takeru thinks Ayaka wants to arm wrestle with him too.
    • He's so caught up wondering why she's angry at him he doesn't even react when a ball hits him right in the face.
    • Later on, Chiaki & Kana unintentionally compare themselves with Takeru & Ayaka, who in return caught Chiaki & Kana as well.
  • In episode 11, As Chiaki texted her, Kana startled & accidentally dropped her cellphone in the bathtub. While she's taking a bath.
    • Kana's mom tries to repair that cellphone... By whacking it with her fist. And it seems to work, with the cellphone turning back on... only to die soon after, at the worst possible time.
    • Akagi, with all his might, held his urge to help Kaji for study. Doubles as Heartwarming.
Akagi: "It's part of her practice. She'll be alone at the exam."
Katori: "You say that, but you're the one who's trying not to freak out."
Akagi: (with subtly shaking hands) "Hit me if i try to talk to her.".
      Katori: *Snaps his finger* "Snap."
  • In episode 12, Patty wants to participate in an all boy's soccer game. After the teacher give her the permission, she then replaces Keisuke.
