  • For being so curmudgeonly, Guysborough is a great source of laughs.
    • In "All Quiet in the Big Harbor," Foduck spots a sleeping Guysborough and decides to clean him with his hose. At this, Guysborough comically screams himself awake.
      "AAAAAAAAAAAAAGHHHH, I'M MELTING!!!!"
    • In "Guysborogh's Garbage," Theodore twice tells the barge to stay put before he leaves. Of course, Guysborough can't move under his own power, as he's quick to point out:
"I'm a garbage barge. Can't move by myself anyway — not that I want to. Nowhere worth goin' in the first place!"
    • His interactions with Emily in "Emily's Close Call":
      • First, when Emily finds a barrel filled with toxic waste, not realizing its contents at first:
Emily: I found it on the beach. Can you take it to the dump dock for me?
Guysborough: Oh. Well, nothin'd make me happier. Just what I need; more garbage. Phooey!
        Emily: Thanks, Guysborough.
Guysborough: Oh, my pleasure entirely. Anytime you got garbage, oh, just dump it right on me! I just can't get enough smelly, stinky, yucky, crumbly, goopy, gunky, drippy, droopy garbage!
      • Later, when Emily tries to take it back:
Emily: Guysborough, where did you put that container I gave you?
Guysborough: Oh, I already took it to the dump dock.
        Emily: But I need it!
Guysborough: Well, thinking of becoming a garbage tug? Oh, you won't be sorry! Oh ho ho, nothing better than floating around all day in the hot sun with a big pile of extremely rotten stinky garbage, unless it's also mucky and moldy and filthy, and full of fleas and banana peels and old socks...
        Emily: [fed up] Goodbye, Guysborough!
  • In an otherwise Darker and Edgier episode like "Hank's Funny Feeling", there is still an amusing scene where Hank believes Malarkey's claim that some sand is "magic flying powder". Theodore glares at Hank as if to say "Do you really buy any of this bullshit?".
  • From "Hank's New Name":
    • Hank decides to change his name to "Henry", feeling that no one respects him because of his small name. This inspires his friends (except for Theodore) to change their names as well. George calls himself "Goliath", and later "Gargantua", Foduck calls himself "Frederick", Emily calls herself "Annapolis", and Barrington calls himself "Bartholomew". During the morning assignments, the Dispatcher gets confused trying to remember all these new names.
"Hank... um, uh, uh... Henry. Emily... Annapolis, and uh... Frederick. Uh, Goliath. Uh, Gar-gar-gar-Gargantua, G-Galapagos. No, Gargling. No! Oh, goodness. Everyone, just go and do... everything!"
    • Shortly afterwards, the Dispatcher decides to ask Donald Dock why everyone is changing their names. When Donald doesn't say anything, this exchange occurs:
    Dispatcher: Donald? Not you too!
    Donald: Uh-huh.
    • Thanks to the Dispatcher getting confused over everyone's new names, he sends George, Emily, and Hank to move Barrington, and only Theodore to move Shelburne. As Theodore struggles to move Shelburne, George, Emily, and Hank have their own difficulties in trying to move Barrington, and this exchange occurs:
    George: Emily, push over!
Emily: My name is Annapolis! You push over, George!
George: It's Gargling! I mean, Gargantua! Barrington, hold still!
    Barrington: I'm Bartholomew!
Emily: This is silly! Everyone just use their regular names!
  • In "Emily Goes Overboard", Emily gets herself stuck between a pair of rocks. She complains that things like this only happen to Digby, since he's infamous for getting himself stuck. Sure enough, Digby comes across her, and can hardly believe that he, for once, is not the one stuck somewhere.
    Digby: Am... am I... stuck?
    Emily: I'm stuck.
Digby: Did... did I get you stuck?
    Emily: I got myself stuck.
Digby: So, you're saying then, that I am not in any manner whatsoever at all, currently stuck?
