• At a feast:
  Henry: Welcome, Overlander. Beware the fish, for Luxa plans to poison you directly!
  Luxa: Beware your fish, Henry. I gave orders to poison scoundrels, forgetting you would be dining as well.
  Henry: (to Gregor) Switch plates with the bats.
• Gregor weaponizing his baby sister's tantrum against the spinners.

Gregor and the Prophecy of Bane

• The fireflies are hilarious, in an obnoxious way. As well as Twitchtip's methods of handling them.
  Boots: Too loud, you like Fo-Fo.
  Photos Glow-Glow: It is Photos Glow-Glow!
  Twitchtip: Oh shut up, Fo-Fo.
• Gregor decides to take the baby to Ripred. Ares does not think it's a good idea.
  Gregor: Wait! Only say why we can't do it if you have a better idea.
  (long pause)
  Ares: I do not have any better ideas, but this one has no possible good endings.

• Ripred: Well, you have to at least credit her [Nerissa] with a certain instability. Remember when she told you I was plotting to take over the Fount with an army of lobsters?
  Vikus: You did try and take over the Fount with an army of lobsters.
• The cockroaches call Gregor and Boots' mom "Maker of the Princess and Most Fearsome Swatter".

• Luxa: Howard, Nike, why do you provoke my guests?
  Nike: We are hoping that they will be offended enough to leave.
