Funny / The Tom Green Show

Go To

  • Tom swims across Lake Washington, which also doubles as a Moment of Awesome. Highlights include him saying that Bill Gates (who apparently owns a house by the lake) doesn't have the balls to swim across it himself, mocking people who think he's going to drown and having his press conference nonsensically set to the Halloween theme. Even better, him successfully swimming across is set to "I Believe I Can Fly".
    • The kicker to that skit is that Tom spent so much time hyping it up as this incredible feat, only for The Stinger to the skit to reveal a young, college-age guy talking to a reporter about how he and some friends get together and swim across all the time.
  • Tom and Glenn's trip to the Bahamas, especially since this is where the former got the idea of "The Bum Bum Song".
    • Tom waking up Glenn at 7 a.m. and surprising him with trapeze lessons. Needless to say, he did terribly at the lessons and even threw up once getting back down.
  • Tom ending up being an loud and obnoxious sports announcer during a minor-league baseball game. It was so bad, that he wound up being ejected from the venue. Not only was he then greeted with boos and jeers, but one guy even managed to slap him in the head. He then admits to his cameraman that everything went well.
  • The one time he decided to be a pizza delivery guy who not only delivered his pizza at the same time as the competition, but then assembled it then and there. The customer was so angry at his lack of professionalism, that he not only kicked his box of supplies, but then threatened him and the crew with a hammer to get off his property.
  • Any interaction between Tom and his parents, from him painting their house a plaid color without their permission (which he then had to revert back once his father threatened to sell his car) to bringing in various animals into the home to the point that since many weren't home-trained that it left behind a lingering urine smell. The worst one is of turning Richard's car into the Slutmobile(TM) which then lead to him calling MTV to ask him not to show the clip on his son's show and that if they did, he would "sue you bastards for a million dollars."
  • Whenever Phil wasn't available to appear on the show, they would use a cardboard cutout of him instead to sit in his window. Also, while Phil was initially seen as the Only Sane Man, his Day in the Limelight episode has his various idiosyncrasies on display, including his disgust for pennies and payphones, the fact that he doesn't like it when someone touches his nose due to his older brother used to punch him in the nose alot when they were kids and the eventual reveals that he apparently puts on a shower cap before using a public helmet to go go-karting and that he (along with Glenn) sold his used underwear over the internet.
  • One home video Tom displayed to the audience showed Glenn being a weird kid and even dry humping a banister. Turns out, it wasn't Glenn (which he pointed out due to the kid wearing a Toronto Raptors shirt which didn't exist when he was that age) and that they just used of video a kid had sent into the show who had an uncanny resemblance to him and they just went along with it to which Tom at one point said "Well, he still humped banisters!"
  • Is Tom Green funnier when drunk? The answer is a resounding (and horrific) yes.
  • The "Dead Guy" skit. It just has Tom lying facedown on a random sidewalk pretending to be dead as strangers pass by and ask if he's alright. The nonsensical music in the background, which is comparable to the soundtrack of the Home Alone 2 video game, only adds to it. After doing this for a time, he gets up and walks away as if nothing happened.
  • Another skit has Tom finding a random bowling trophy at a thrift store and deciding to meet the owner of said trophy, who was rude and dismissive. After getting upset that the champ was a jerk, he goes bowling and destroys said trophy. Then after trying to send a menacing message towards the champ, he laments that he received a mysterious stain on his new pants.
