Funny / The Solve-It Squad Returns!

  • The cast and the fandom have both singled out Keith's line after Scrags swears they'll get justice for Cluebert's death as the funniest line in the whole show — "Cluebert was the nerdy girl, right?" and on the YouTube recording Joey Richter has to pause for a full ten seconds before replying so the laughter can sink in. The sheer multilayered depth of Keith's jerkassery — that he's apparently completely forgotten the details of Cluebert's death, thinks Esther is dead just because he hasn't seen her in a while, thinks that somehow "Cluebert" could be the name of a human woman — is a true thing of beauty.
    • Best of all this is later justified by Esther turning out to have a wacky last name ("Backpack-Blueglasses"). And then it's Hilarious in Hindsight because this was Keith pulling Obfuscating Stupidity so well it fooled everyone around him even though he's the actual obvious suspect for being the new Demonic Apostle — and heartwarming in hindsight because he did remember Cluebert's death and arranged all this to help Scrags get over it.
  • There was a lot of audience howling over the Creepy Gas-Station Attendant's cri du coeur of the horrible sights he saw at the Mayberry Gardens Motel and Spa — "JIIIIIIIIIIIIIZZ!" Made even funnier by the Call-Back shortly after where he bids the Solve-It Squad farewell and "a jizz-free day".
  • Ashley Clements said it's a good thing her character Gwen spends the duration of Scrags' "sandwich trick" filming it on her phone so she doesn't have to do look at it directly, because everything about it led to her corpsing uncontrollably, from Joey Richter's intense facial expression to his showy flourishes to Esther and Keith's raucous chanting to the basic idea of what's going on. She said she kept finding new things to laugh at about it all through the run of the show, including confusing her friends by breaking out into giggles saying "The slice of cheese was still in the plastic!"
