In the list of example NPC's/enemies found within each scenario, each NPC has a list of positive and negative traits that affect any dice rolls they make. One of the examples is the "Looter", shown wearing a bandana over their face and stealing a flatscreen TV. Listed traits include "Materialistic", "Violent", and "Doesn't Quite Get The Gravity Of The Situation".
Another NPC, an EDEN executive in the first Zombie Apocalypse post-apoc scenario, has the negative trait Soul Patch.
In The Modular Menace, one encounter involves two giant Modulons fighting each other in the street. The book suggests that if any players make a reference to "Rock 'Em Sock 'Em Robots", they will immediately be faced with one of the Modulons kicking a car towards them.
In War Between the Worlds, a soldier of the Greys is depicted with a human cigar in their mouth, which is even included in their equipment, implying that almost every single Grey is a smoker. The "Post-Apocalypse" section even states that cigars and alcohol were part of the peace treaty with the Greys.
