- Greg waking up to the sight of Kili in bed with him.Greg: Ohhhh, I'm not really a morning person but I think I could be if I could see that more often.
Sarin: Awww.
Greg [turning]: Wha?!
Sarin [grinning nervously]: Oh, don't mind me! I'm only watching over you for strictly medical reasons! - Goro's reaction to the aftermath of the previous night.
- Greg waking up to the sight of Kili in bed with him.
- Right after Greg turns into a werewolf.
- In the flashback of Chapter 7:
- When Rina meets Derek in the mountains and discusses what she can do.Rina: Uh ... lights and smoke ... and I can talk to animals. Like the sparrows!
Derek: Oh! That sounds kind of handy!
Rina: Not really. Birds are pretty dumb. - After being rescued from Derek's cave, Rina learns Goro's profession.Rina: Do all surgeons have bulging muscles and sleeveless leather vests now?
Goro: No, just the awesome ones.
- When Rina meets Derek in the mountains and discusses what she can do.
- In Chapter 8:
- Sarin's advice for dealing with the amplified libido that comes with being a werewolf.
- Why Sarin had a moustache and monocle when he was a guy.

- The strip where we learn what happened to those two assassins who suddenly declared their mutual love and ran off after being hit by a shot from Mori's scroll gun. Apparently they're doing okay.
- When Greg is discussing how well his three friends dealt with suffering through the valley curse, he says of the third: "Gren... adapted way too well."Gren: [in the flashback] Hey, now I can finally go to lesbian bars!
- In the middle of the relatively-dark Chapter 9:
- Chapter 10 includes a couple:
- When "Elizabeth", impersonating Goro, runs into Kili.not-Goro: Muh ... their leader's an alterist. Probably hiding among the patients. You need to scan everyone.
Kili: Including you, I hope.
not-Goro: Yes, including me! Geez, that's the oldest one in the book. - After the action is resolved and Goro gets her strength infusion, there's a nice one-two punch with Goro realizing how well things turned out.
- When "Elizabeth", impersonating Goro, runs into Kili.
- Chapter 11, the interlude chapter, has a few:
- Goro's question to Sarin about being given proportionately-larger boobs.
- A glimpse of Mori's office shows a filing cabinet with drawers for "New Cases (625 4b)", "Old Cases", and "Weird Cases", and a trash can labeled "Makes Haste".
- From Chapter 14, one reason Aki might want to turn into a man.
- In one of the Chapter 15 flashbacks, we see teenage Kili demonstrate his wit and charm. Merlin's commentary* only adds to the hilarity.
- Chapter 16, unsurprisingly, has a couple:
- When Sarin has just disentangled the magic transformation web Elka accidentally formed and declares "Nude party!" ... right before Blue walks in the door with Frances Brill.Sarin: Wah! Emergency clothes! Emergency everything!
[After a blur of magic, Aki is in puppy pyjamas; Goro is wearing sweatpants and the tatters of a shirt much too small to fit her; Kili is in a purple leotard with fishnet stockings, bunny ears, and a bowtie; Elka is wearing Sarin's usual button-up shirt; Sarin is wearing Elka's usual black-and-purple shirt and neckband; and Mori is in a skimpy two-piece purple sparkly outfit]
Sarin [with forced cheer]: Hi! How can we help you?
Mori: Uh... - Equally hilarious: the reactions from Blue and her suspect:Frankie: What the hell—
Blue: Yes. As you can see, the rumors about these people are entirely true. Just pretend you didn't see that. - At the end of the chapter:Sam: Now that we nailed the chief, I bet it'll be way easier to sniff out corruption in the ranks!
Jack: You seem pretty stoked.
Sam: I got to fire my own boss! I'm living the American dream!
- When Sarin has just disentangled the magic transformation web Elka accidentally formed and declares "Nude party!" ... right before Blue walks in the door with Frances Brill.
- In Chapter 17:
- Jack pleads with the members of Cary's circle not to use the harvest stone on him, being as he has a girlfriend and is hoping to be a father one day. Then they learn his girlfriend is Blue, the crystalline.Logan: "I want to be the father of her kids", huh?
Jack: I didn't say it was a realistic hope... - The news report summarizing the aftermath of the situation with Cary's harvest stone ends with the calm and professional reporter from the news station casually revealing that she is one of the day's Gender Bender victims.
- The conversation between Blue, Jack, and Sarin about the sexual preferences of crystal people.Jack: [bewildered expression] I've been dating an alien lesbian...
- Sarin's reaction to Blue proposing to Jack:Sarin: Awwwww. [elbowing Mori] Hey, Mori! Let's get married too!
- ...said humor being immediately compounded by Sarin and Mori stepping out of the room to discuss it privately ... in the janitorial closet.
- Jack pleads with the members of Cary's circle not to use the harvest stone on him, being as he has a girlfriend and is hoping to be a father one day. Then they learn his girlfriend is Blue, the crystalline.
- The filler with Speedball talking to his dad (who doesn't read the comic).
- In the guest story "A Small Issue", when Simone realizes the forms she's turning into are from illusions she had cast.Sarin: ...do you do a lot of illusions for making people look like attractive women?

- Right off the bat, Kili counseling some victims of Cary's harvest stone.
- After everyone's wedding:Sarin: So, now that we're married, maybe one of us should get a surname so we can share it.
Mori: Hahaha! Yes.
- In Chapter 21, Elka panics over being made a central part of Mori's plan.
- In Chapter 22, a local doctor overhears a disquieting rumor from one of her patients: Sam fired all the other cops.note
