- Art and Mark try to get Ray to come out, but Carol won’t let him leave the house “until [Ray] resembles the man she married”. With the way Art and Mark whine and pester Carol to let Ray come outside, Ray peeking around the corner at them, and then ultimately Art and Mark leaving dejected, the scene is framed like two kids (Art and Mark) trying to get a friend who’s grounded (Ray) to come outside and play, but the mother (Carol) refusing.Mark: Ooh, he was bad.
