Believe it or not, the books have quite a bit of clever humor.
- Starting off we have the Rotten Banana, a supervillain from the comic book world who is part of a supervillain group known as the fruit of the loons who is constantly spouting terrible Banana puns. While his puns are pretty lame, Charm's reactions to them (trying to beat him up and threatening to kill him) are hilarious.
- This gets so bad that Bethany uses leaving the Banana alone with Charm as a suitable threat.
- The many hilarious ways you can screw with Owen in the fourth book, from making him punch himself to straight up letting him get eaten by a dinosaur.
- The dinosaur one, in particular, is pretty funny since it was mentioned first in the third book when Owen get's sucked into pick the plot and sure enough, there it was in the fourth book ready to be abused.
- Bethany knocking out Kid Twilight with one punch and feeling extremely satisfied afterward.
- Anything anybody does when they talk to Kid Twilight and anything he does in response because he is pretty much The Comically Serious.
- Kid Twilight expressing disbelief when he learns Bethany doesn't know his real name in the 5th book and then acting indignant when Doc Twilight reveals it. (It's Orion by the way.)
- In the Fifth Book, while their planning how to kill Nobody, Charm threatens Owen. Kiel assures Owen that she means it in the nicest possible way. Owen just shakes his head.
Owen: Oh, she doesn't.
