  • Bonesaw McGraw is 'played' by an inflatable doll, leading to a Leaning on the Fourth Wall bit when the ring announcer says the Human Spider is making him look like one.
    • According to Glen Berger's tell-all book, the cast and crew took out their frustrations working on the show by beating Bonesaw up.
  • The Goblin remarks "I'm a sixty-five million dollar circus tragedy...actually, more like seventy-five" in "A Freak Like Me Needs Company". The musical itself cost $75 million to mount.
  • During the Sinister Six's attack on the city, Bud reports that a swarm of killer bees is at Yankee Stadium, before another reporter corrects him and says that Swarm is a man who is bees.
  • The Goblin trying to leave a message for Jameson, which is interrupted when the receptionist puts him on hold, he has to navigate the recorded menu options, and finally gets the answering machine. The message itself is an over the top threat to Spider-Man. What helps it is when Goblin is put on hold and a U2 song plays; cue an Aside Glance.
    • The paper boy repeats said threat in the exact same way the Goblin said it.
  • The Goblin attaches a note for Jameson on a pumpkin and leaves it in his office:
    Jameson: What is it?
    Buttons: It's a pumpkin!
  • The end of 1.0's first act and the climax of the 2.0 show opens with the Green Goblin playing a green piano with champagne on the side, singing a villainous version of "Manhattan." His lyrics are...different than the original.
I'll take Manhattan, and then I'll flatten all of Queens / I dig those kind of scenes
I can't help it, it’s in my genes / A little bat and some scorpion, you get the picture.
I'm old fashioned, that's why I'm keen on family things / Like... killing whole families!
My dear Manhattan, I'll have you down to miserable smoldering black cinders!
    And I'm greeeeen...
  • 1.0 has a scene where Jameson comes up with snappy headlines on the fly, usually maligning Spider-Man. When he hears the Green Goblin stole a grand piano and assumes Spidey is involved as well, he struggles for a bit before deciding on "Spider-Man And Goblin Working In Concert! Pianos Their Forte."
  • On one occasion during the 1.0 run, the show had to pause right before the climactic Green Goblin and Spider-Man fight at the end of Act 1. Reeve Carney stayed in-character and attempted to drink some of the Goblin's champagne, while Patrick Page similarly stayed in-character and warned him about the strong drink, saying "You gotta be careful. You're gonna fly over the heads of the audience, you know. I hear they dropped a few of them." The house came down with laughter.
