Common Route

• The incident that starts it all: Masaomi is asked by his grandfather to have a try at pulling the divine sword Murasamemaru from the stone. Masaomi proceeds to do so, but ends up snapping the blade. Masaomi nervously imagines all kinds of things he may be forced to do to compensate, including working for gangsters, until the sword's spirit, Murasame, snaps him out of his thoughts and restores the blade like it's no big deal.
  • Murasame insists she's not a ghost, but that she's a divine spirit. She even considers ghosts as "unscientific", prompting Masaomi to lampshade that logic.
  • And then Murasame suggests Masaomi try to touch her, and he obliges. To their surprise, Masaomi ends up touching her chest, remarking that he feels something hard. Murasame does not take it well and brings this up sporadically throughout the story.
• After Masaomi and Yoshino formally meet, Yasuharu suggests they should get married since Yoshino says Masaomi can't go home. Both Yoshino and Masaomi are not happy about this proposal.
• How Masaomi meets Mako: He was about to do his laundry when Mako sense he was in the room until she uses her Ninja Log substitution and has him by knife-point. At one point, the game briefly names her "Titty Ninja", and once they formally introduce each other, he points out that her chest is pressing up on his back, making a very awkward situation. Her solution to this problem is knocking him out.
• Masaomi decides to look for a cursed spirit with Murasame accompanying him. As Murasame is afraid of ghosts, Masaomi suggests singing to calm her nerves. She decides to sing "Kagome Kagome", a well-known children song which also has a reputation for sounding rather disturbing, hence creeping Masaomi out in the process.
  • Later, Masaomi manages to defeat a cursed spirit using Murasamemaru for the first time... but also cut off Yoshino's enchanted miko outfit by accident.
• When Masaomi gets hungry, both Yoshino and Masaomi decide to make some eggs. And they start arguing Like an Old Married Couple over how eggs should go with (Worcestershire sauce for Masaomi, sugar for Yoshino).
  • Later, they get into another argument whether Worcestershire or soy sauce goes on soft-boiled eggs. Yasuharu tries to tell them that people have different tastes until he mentions liking his eggs with condensed milk. Yoshino, Masaomi, and Mako heavily disagree with his choice.
• Realizing that he needed to train better, Masaomi goes to see his grandfather to ask him to turn him into a man. Genjuurou takes his request out of context and assumed Masaomi mean "BL."
• Masaomi's first encounter with Lena is Crash-Into Hello combined with Funbag Airbag. Then he and Mako decide to take Lena to a sushi joint. Lena finds out the hard way that she cannot handle wasabi.
• After finding out that Masaomi is training in secret, a guilt-ridden Yoshino kneels in front of him to apologize when he comes back. As Yoshino keeps insisting on doing whatever he asks to make amends, he asks her to let him be her friend, which she accepts. Then Yoshino tries to talk in a more "casual" way and ends up sounding silly, much to her friends' amusement and her chagrin.
  • The next morning, Yoshino tries to greet Masaomi using a slang she found on the net ("Helloha!"), which only baffles him and embarrasses herself even more. After that, Masaomi attempts to use the bathroom, but Yoshino keeps stopping him from going in, for she just used it moments before. Then Mako and Murasame come in, misunderstanding the situation as some kind of play between the two.
• During his training session with Genjuurou, Masaomi spots Rentarou who sees him training with their grandfather. Their small talk gets interrupted by Genjuurou, who proceeds to make Rentarou do morning exercise.
• As Masaomi and his two female comrades go to Tagoriya, the moment Koharu calls him "Onii-chan", Mako assumes it's a fetish he likes while Yoshino tells him she'll accept him for who he is, much to his chagrin.
  • Yoshino excitedly checks the menu to decide what to eat, complete with sparkly eyes, to the amazement of Roka and Koharu who've never seen her like this in public.
• The activities Masaomi can do with the girl of his choice during their hangout in the mountain include:
  • Fishing with Yoshino has her constantly making Innocent Innuendos while learning how to fish. Masaomi lampshades how unintentionally erotic it sounds.
  • Fishing with Lena has her waving her line aggressively, until she accidentally snags Masaomi's shirt. Masaomi takes it off until Lena asks what kind of "fish" it was, until she realizes he's shirtless. Masaomi tries to make a joke about her being an Accidental Pervert, but she is so distracted by him being shirtless that she faints.
  • When Masaomi decides to look for wild vegetables with Mako, she tells him not to eat wolfsbane as it would make people vomit and die. She quickly clarifies that wolfsbane does not grow where they are at. Then the real kicker is when she helps a bird chick into its nest. She realizes how high up she was on, panics, then tries to find a rope, throwing out her tools and weapons (including a Ninja Log) in the process. Masaomi is right under her and has to dodge the dangerous objects, wondering where she stores all that stuff.
• Lena + Porn mag = Hilarity Ensues.
• Yoshino sleepwalks into Masaomi's room, leading to a Not What It Looks Like moment the morning after.
  • Later, Yoshino tries to sleep again in order to replicate the aforementioned sleepwalking state. However, her companions keep asking her whether she has fallen asleep and staring at her to see what is going to happen. Yoshino proceeds to kick everyone (except Mako) out of her room.
• Masaomi wonders why a Cursed Spirit looks unusually large until Mako corrects him. He looks closer and realizes there are actually two of them.

  Masaomi: Ah, there's two. Wait, there's two!?

• Masaomi feels the battle with the cursed beast was anti-climatic as he keeps looking at the medium, which is still incomplete after all the effort put into defeating the beast.

Yoshino's Route

• Masaomi rather bluntly asks Yoshino if the reason she's turned down all of the other suitors is if she's a lesbian. She responds by saying she's torn over whether she should punch or slap him.
• Any time Yoshino rolls around her futon, hugging her pillow in embarrassment after saying/doing romantic things to Masaomi.
• Yoshino and Masaomi get dragged into an impromptu “press conference” organized by their classmates after making their engagement public. Even Koharu (an underclassman), as well as teachers from other classes join the audience!
• Frustrated that they have not kissed despite already being a couple, Yoshino and Masaomi agree to meet at the shrine in the evening so that they can finally do it. Masaomi walks into the shrine full of anticipation and excitement, only to find out that Yasuharu is using the venue to hold a party celebrating his daughter's engagement, with the guests being various older male townspeople, including Genjuurou. The couple were not informed of this beforehand, much to their frustration.
• While preparing for Their First Time, Yoshino gets an advice from Murasame to wear an appropriate attire and wear either white or pale pink underwear, and for unknown reasons, Murasame is adamant that she must not wear brown ones.
• Yoshino comes into Masaomi's room at night, dressed in her ceremonial outfit, kneels and bows deeply like a newlywed wife from the feudal age, asking Masaomi to take her virginity. Masaomi gets so dumbfounded by her actions that the mood was shot. He asks her if Mako and Murasame told her to do this. Yoshino gets so shocked that she becomes temporarily catatonic, muttering to herself that Mako and Murasame tricked her.
• Just as Yoshino and Masaomi decide to have sex, Yasuharu gives his thanks for putting a picture of his late wife while Yoshino grips Masaomi's hand in frustration. Yasuharu then decides that they should drink to commemorate the occasion and Masaomi reluctantly obliges while Yoshino feels blue-balled. Then Masaomi wakes up feeling heavy only to find a sexually-frustrated Yoshino giving him a blowjob while he's hungover.
• In the epilogue, Masaomi introduces Yoshino to his parents. Of course, his mother dotes on her while insulting her son right in front of him.
• The Irony of Masaomi of all people being an Amazingly Embarrassing Parent in Yoshino's epilogue after their son is born.

Mako's Route

• Mako tells Yoshino to have Masaomi corner her with his arm to see if her heart would beat for him. Masaomi relunctantly does so, but all it did was create some awkwardness between the two.
• When Masaomi takes Mako home, she gets so embarrassed by him calling her cute that she teleports out of sight using her Ninja Log, even threatening to throw a kunai at him.
• Yoshino and her father tell Mako to take a day off, but she starts freaking out over the possibility of things going wrong. Yoshino even gets irritated when Mako keeps pestering her. And then when it seems like Mako is heading home, Murasame asks her what she's doing in the attic, prompting Yoshino to bang on the ceiling with a broom.
• Masamoi meets Mako's mother on his way to return her wallet while out shopping. When they meet, Mako's mother insists he comes inside, but she invites him in Mako's room. When he starts to relax, her mother would come in with snacks, and the instant he sighs, she peeks through the sliding door. Talk about an Amazingly Embarrassing Parent.
  • As if it can't get any worse, while he wonders just how normal Mako is, she comes to her room wearing nothing but a towel and a pair of panties. Masaomi can't help but stare. She silently closes her door and asks her mother for glasses, and medicine, since she thought she was hallucinating. When her mother confirms that Masaomi is real, she runs back into her room. Cue Naked Freak-Out.
• After encountering the cursed beast, Mako inexplicably transforms into a puppy. When Masaomi finds her, he takes her back to the Tomatakes to figure out what to do with her. Mako tries to get Murasame's attention but this fails. And then Mako becomes aggressive during their bath, and suddenly returns to normal, making him have a face-view of her crotch until they realize what's happening. Then Yoshino comes in the bath falling silent and starts screaming.
• Masaomi and Mako decide to go on a pretend date where he acts as the stand-in. However, their "date" becomes so awkward, Roka has to intervene and give her a makeover. And just when Masaomi is about to compliment Mako's new look, she pulls a Stealth Hi/Bye on him with her Ninja Log in her place. She even tells Masaomi he fell for her substitution technique.
• A Mood Whiplash version: Masaomi employs the shoujo-classic Wall Pin of Love while giving her his Love Confession. As he leans in to kiss her, Mako suddenly disappears, making him look like he's about to kiss a wall. As he thinks Mako has run away, it's revealed that Mako transformed into a puppy at the worst possible second, causing Masaomi to laugh his ass off, much to Mako's chargin.
• Yoshino is not good at keeping secrets. The first time, Mako transforms into a puppy in school, prompting Masaomi to ask Yoshino to distract everyone so that he can turn Mako back somewhere else. Unfortunately for Masaomi, the best she can come up with are Suspiciously Specific Denials. The second time, Masaomi and Mako decide to eat lunch by themselves, until Yoshino blurts out that they are dating. Both Masaomi and Mako decides to put up with it while they head to their destination.
• The scenes after Mako masturbates are funny on their own. In the first one, Yoshino is wide awake, slowly realizes what Mako just did and cries out: "Mako has become a hussy!!!" In the second one, it is implied that this has happened many times since then and Yoshino can barely sleep at all, leading to her, alongside Murasame, urging Mako to go on a date with Masaomi the next morning so that the couple can "get their release". Mako finds out on her own that Yoshino knows about it.
• Even the H-scenes have quite a humor in them. Mako at a few points keeps calling Masaomi's penis an alien. He responds with "stop calling it an alien!" each time.
  • In their last H-scene (before the Afterstory), they decide to roleplay with her being tied up. It was awkward nonetheless. And then after they finish, Mako effortlessly releases her hands from the binds. When he asks how, she replies it with "I'm a ninja, remember?".
  • In the Afterstory's aftermath, Mako and Masaomi decide to take a break despite the school bell ringing, and no one is surprised that they're late.

Lena's Route

• While the gang is running from the cursed beast, with an unconscious Lena in tow, she keeps sleeptalking and drooling all the way.
• Masaomi sleepwalks all the way from the Tomotake house to the inn, straight into Lena's room, leading to expected reactions from his relatives and the inn manager the morning after. Fortunately, he has Murasame, Yoshino and Mako as his witnesses.
• The topic of the first Japanese awareness lesson for Lena is sumo. Turns out the reason for such a choice is that she misheard the sumo referee's terminology, which leaves so much of an impression that the inn's domestic guests laugh hysterically when they watch a sumo fight on TV and even the very knowledgeable Yoshino forgets her own explanations the day after, prompting Lena to help her recall them!
• Lena gives Masaomi a box of Salmiakki candy from her home country. He tries one, then instantly collapses in agony.
  • The next day, despite his warning, Yoshino gives it a try and becomes so high (rambling about seeing an aurora while having sparkly eyes) that Mako keeps begging her to come back to life. Then Yoshino and Masaomi force Mako to try it. A few seconds later, she remains silent for a while and then collapses to the ground. She describes the taste in agonizing detail. Then Yoshino's father comes in and decides to try one as well and the others fail to stop him in time.
  • At school, Lena laughs her ass off after hearing the story from Masaomi, who decides to bring the candy box along to prevent any further "accidents". Rentarou is Tempting Fate when he's told not to eat it. He does and... the inevitable happens.
• Lena invites nearly everyone for a sleepover at the Shinatsu Manor. When they arrive at the scheduled time, she begins to hug everyone involved. The girls quietly comment on her breasts. Then Rentarou comes and... Lena only shakes his hand. Then Motoko (the inn manager) arrives, gets the same hug from Lena and has the same reaction as the other girls.
• In the actual party itself, Rentarou tries one of the cream puffs Roka made, and ends up eating one laced with wasabi (Roka randomly mixed wasabi-flavored cream puffs in the pile). Then they play Old Maid to decide who eats first, and Rentarou gets another one, while Koharu tells him it's Laser-Guided Karma which Mako (who sounded very sickly) thinks happens to her as well.
  • They then decided to watch a movie (heavily implied to be Spirited Away). Lena gets so excited watching the movie that the Super-Deformed art depict her various reactions like she duplicates herself, with each copy wearing a different outfit.
• Lena buys a laptop with a built-in camera to have a live chat with her family. Her family immediately calls him a samurai after noticing his shinai in the background. The family proceeds to ask him to demonstrate his swordmanship. Masaomi is both bemused and annoyed by this turn of events.
• Masaomi calls his mother for the first time in months. After some occasional bickering, he reveals that he has a girlfriend, causing his mother to have a Spit Take on the other line and demand her husband to buy more beer so that they can celebrate.

Murasame's Route

• After the business with the cursed spirits is done with, Masaomi prepares to leave the Tomotake household, but Murasame demands that he'd stay since he's Murasamemaru's wielder. Masaomi gives up trying to change her mind.
• During lunchtime, Masaomi can't help but feel like he's being watched. Then the art changes, showing Murasame watching everyone eat lunch. Yoshino tells him he should just invite her.
• After their first H-scene, Murasame points out that Masaomi is still naked. Cue shouting "I can't be a groom anymore!". She instantly shouts that he can still be a groom. Of course he's teasing her.
• Murasame's bouts of jealousy whenever she sees Masaomi act too friendly towards other girls. She even suspects that Masaomi is trying to create a harem.
• As part of the publicity campaign for the Murasamemaru enshrinement ceremony, Masaomi is advertised as a "modern samurai" and hence forced to wear a samurai outfit for the ritual (Murasame even suggests wearing a topknot to match, which he adamantly refuses). Masaomi complains that the event already has Yoshino as the cosplayer, at which she takes offense. Then Mako reveals that the tourists actually see Yoshino as a cosplay idol, devastating the latter to the point that she considers retiring from Shrine Princess duty.

Roka/Koharu's Route

• During closing hours, Roka was practicing her shamisen and Masaomi becomes interested. Unfortunately for him, Roka is unaware that she's pressing her chest on his back and asks why he's being flustered. She eventually realizes the implications, and tries to tell him she wasn't trying to seduce him.
• In an Art Shift sequence, Roka and Koharu gets into a minor argument while smiling. Masaomi compares the girls to an otter going against a cat.
• In Roka's route, Masaomi invites her to his room in his grandfather's inn. Throughout the scene, she starts worrying that Masaomi is heading straight towards sex while panting like a female dog in heat. And when Masaomi returns, she tells him it's her first time until she notices he only invite her trying a dessert he thought up.
  • And then she tries one of the alcoholic ones meant for adults. claiming she has alcohol tolerance. The next scene has her very drunk while her Leitmotif plays. The next morning has her lying on Masaomi with a hangover and Lena freaking out over them lying together.
• If Roka is chosen, Masaomi decides to tell her something when she requests she goes first. He interrupts her mid-sentence when he tells her he loves her. Roka gets mad when he confesses and tells her she was taking too long.
• Roka and Masaomi become awkward as hell after their Relationship Upgrade. Her mother notices right away and is already demanding grandchildren. Then her mother goes into embarrassing details about Masaomi being a healthy young man and would lose interest in her if they didn't advance their relationship any further. Roka ends up muttering under her breath on what her mother was telling her.
• In Koharu's route, Rentarou points out if they're trying to be a couple, then she should stop calling Masaomi "Onii-chan".

• Many Steam achievements are tied to comical events and have funny pics to match:
  • EXCALIBURRRR: Masaomi attempts to release the Murasamemaru only to accidentally snap it in half.
