Funny / Personality Swap AU

  • Izuku's impersonation of Bakugou causes genuine despair in the other teachers. Mic even panics and accuses Aizawa of "breaking" Izuku.
  • Iida is terrible at the exercise. He can't stop doing his chopping tick and can't reference memes to save his life. Kaminari has to break character to give him a crash course on the latter.
    • Later in the series during a presentation project, this gets a Call-Back. When Kaminari declares he'll use his presentation to educate the class (read: Iida in particular) on memes, Iida tries to defend himself. Kaminari responds by questioning Todoroki, who impersonated Kaminari for second swap assignment, about Jared. Todoroki replies, in full emotionless deadpan, that Jared never learned how to read.
  • Mineta apparently had to copy Jiro. His idea of doing this was to stick two of his sticky balls to his chest to act as boobs. This is not well received.
  • Todoroki's first impersonation is of Kirishima. The only difference between this and normal Todoroki is that he occasionally pauses and, entirely without emotion, tells the class that they're manly.
  • Over the course of the next few impersonations (Aizawa and Nezu), the staff are basically in chaos because of Izuku. Present Mic flees his classroom more than once and All Might can be caught in the staff room monologuing about how he "misses his boy."
    • During the Nezu impersonation, Izuku disappears during lunch and his friends are too afraid to look for him. They instead ask Aizawa to find him... so Aizawa asks All Might. All Might finds Izuku in Nezu's office, plotting politics with Nezu and besting Nezu in a game of chess, after which Nezu offers for Izuku to spend more lunches with him in his office. The two then notice All Might and smile at him at the same time. All Might is so shaken he decides to call in sick for the rest of the day.
  • Izuku impersonating the staff freaks most of the class out each time… but what really breaks them is seeing him impersonate Midnight.
  • Izuku has made the entire staff flee the break room twice. Once when "Nemurizuku" and Nemuri get into a passionate conversation about the flaws of Hero education culture, and once offscreen, when Gran Torino!Izuku did something that left ketchup on the floor.
    • Toshinori wasn't there for whatever went down in the break room that second time and only discovers the mess afterwards, which is how we find out that because of Gran Torino, Toshinori has apparently been pavlov'd into fearing ketchup.
  • Upon reviewing the day's activities through the school's cameras, Aizawa vows to never let Izuku play another flirtatious character... because he doesn't want to have to deal with the "adolescent sexual awakenings" he saw on the security feed.
    • He openly proclaims that he's judging Todoroki for this.
    • Aizawa then concludes Snipe is a good next impersonation... only for it to turn out that some people (i.e. Todoroki) have a thing for cowboys.
  • Aizawa uses the Present Mic, All Might, and Tsukauchi impersonations as breaks for the staff... so they don't become used to the chaos or quit, thereby robbing him of his entertainment.
  • Although Iida and Todoroki both swear at the idea, nobody really minds Izuku playing Gran Torino except All Might, who looks traumatized from the moment he spots ketchup in the empty staff room. His reaction to the Gran Torino!Izuku vs. Iida fight ("the exact moment that Yagi’s hopes and dreams shatter, the life leaving his eyes in a single instant") is so funny to Aizawa that the latter starts taking pictures and sending them to mutual friends.
    • Izuku fights by mimicking Gran Torino's bouncing. The duel never properly concludes because Iida takes off sprinting for the viewing area mid-fight chanting "Nope nope nope nope nope nope-"
    • Tsukauchi half-joking offers to take Izuku on as an apprentice detective. All Might petulant texts back "No! He's my successor; find your own!"
  • Aizawa's karmic Epic Fail in "Recovery (For the Hell We've Been Through)." Because nobody was attracted to Gran Torino!Izuku, Aizawa thinks he can avoid encouraging the "suitors" if he picks someone who's old for Izuku to impersonate. He forgets that Izuku doesn't change his physical appearance while acting, only his clothes and accessories, and that Recovery Girl's power is to heal people by kissing them. The result is Izuku as a full-blown Hospital Hottie, wearing a short thigh length dress, labcoat, and stockings, and subject to increasingly obvious requests for kisses by his classmates, male and female alike. As the day goes on, Recovery Girl's office becomes more and more frequented by students exaggerating or completely making up injuries. By the end of the day, even kids from the other years have shown up looking for Izuku for "healing."
    • The other members of staff spend the day laughing at Aizawa for his own self-induced misery.
    • When Kaminari seeks Izuku for "healing" after "running into a wall" and Izuku kisses him on the forehead, Kaminari short-circuits and ends up actually needing to stay in the nurse's office.
    • Todoroki then walks into the office and blatantly states: "I need you to kiss me." When Izuku asks what his injuries are, he answers, "Uraraka says I have an empty heart." Izuku replies that he doesn't think his Quirk can fix that.
      • He then kisses Todoroki on the forehead anyways to be sure, and Todoroki bursts into flames.
    • All Might once again being afraid of the person Izuku's impersonating.
    • The real Recovery Girl texts All Might complaining about dozens of students coming to her office hoping to get "treatment" from Izuku.
  • Aizawa recovers from the previous day by having Izuku be Best Jeanist, the most covered-up hero he can think of.
  • When Nezu and Mic have Izuku impersonate Ms. Joke, Aizawa goes into a hilariously petulant spiral of misery, moaning that he's accepting his fate and upcoming death, that they've ruined his problem child and made him a monster, that Izuku's now "terrible. Awful. His goodness is tainted by her," and threatening to quit his job. All the while none of his coworkers have a lick of sympathy and are actively enjoying his suffering. Then Izuku walks in with a big cheery grin and tries to make Aizawa smile, and Aizawa promptly threatens to defenestrate him. After a beat, Aizawa then defenestrates himself.
  • Mirio's reaction to seeing Izuku fight villains: "Midoriya is terrifying. Neat!"
