Trailers

  • How does Debbie convince Amita to join? By bribing her with the prospect of not having to live with her mother, who consistently asks her why she can't be more like her already-married sister.
  • Debbie interviewing Nine-Ball.
    Debbie: What's your name?
    Nine-Ball: Nine-Ball.
    Debbie: What's your real name?
    Nine-Ball: (Beat) Eight-Ball.
  • Constance stealing Lou's watch and after Debbie asks her to return them she begrudgingly gives back what she stole. Lou looks down at her watch with an expression that says, "When did she nick this??"
  • The sheer hilarity of Anne Hathway playing a self-absorbed bitchy character is likely to get a few laughs.
  • Amita's awe at realizing Taylor Swift would be at the MET.
Amita: Can't we just go there? Do we really have to steal something?
The rest of the group: Yes.
  • Frazier asking Debbie if her stealing and getting revenge is a genetic. She answers with, "literally".
    • In one trailer, she says that one aunt doesn't have any of the family thief traits.
  • In the second trailer when Frazier tries to fill Daphne in on Debbie and Danny she looks extremely bored and you can tell she's thinking, "Aaaand, this matters to me because?"
  • Tammy and Debbie are fighting over how to work the glasses and Nine-Ball simply turns it on to the surprise of the other women.
    Tammy: What did she do?
    Nine-Ball: I turned it on.
    Debbie & Tammy: ... Oh.

Film

  • The fact that when she leaves prison, Debbie is wearing exactly what she had on when she came in: a gorgeous evening gown that she wears walking down the streets of New York.
    • When she's getting her things back, she picks up a watch that's revealed to have Danny's name and a pair of dice engraved on the back, leading to the following exchange.
    Dina: Nice watch.
    Debbie: It was my brother's.
    Dina: Left it to you?
Debbie: I stole it. [beat] Don't worry, Dina, he stole it too.
  • Daphne's downright murderous smile when the reporter at the beginning repeatedly asks what she'll be wearing at the Gala.
  • Rose has to grift Daphne into hiring her as her designer for the Gala. Lou and Debbie insist on Rose acting aloof and avoiding eye contact to intrigue Daphne more. They enforce this by having Rose sit opposite a window, and blowing bubbles when Daphne isn't looking.
  • When Rose is trying to convince the Toussaint's owner to give it to Daphne she goes on a speech in French to help her point, and at the end Amita, who clearly hasn't understood a single word, just says, "Oui."
    • Also, when Rose starts going on in French, Amita does a double take and stares at her, obviously surprised that she knows French.
  • Debbie's warm speech to the team before they embark on the heist.
Debbie: You're not doing this for me. You're not doing this for you. Somewhere out there, there is an 8-year old girl lying in her bed, dreaming of being a criminal. We're doing this for her.
    • Before that, she reassures everyone: "The food on the inside isn't as bad as everyone says it is. Even solitary can be quite peaceful."
  • In the final montage, we see Daphne using her cut of the heist to finance her own film with her as director. She's then shown directing a woman who is supposed to be...Anne Hathaway. She tells "Hathaway" to act a bit better and as she walks off, Daphne is whispering "it's not that hard."
  • Daphne's reason for teaming up with the thieves? She doesn't have a lot of girlfriends, and she thinks Debbie and the others would make interesting pals.
  • The fact that Debbie not only doesn't resent the insurance investigator on her trail — she knows him, and is his friend! She explains that the same investigator had busted her, her brother, and her father multiple times before, prompting Lou to laughingly add, "He's practically family."
  • Daphne conning Claude Becker by pretending to want kinky sex with him, the entire time putting on an over-the-top sexy, breathy voice. "Do you want to play a game?"
  • When looking at the Toussaint for the first time, Amita and Rose are in a vault so far underground, the special, high-tech glasses Rose are wearing can't get a signal to send an image back to the team. Amita, thinking quickly, says that Rose wanted to see the necklace in natural light, and Rose hastily agrees. Helena Bonham-Carter's delivery of the line "I must have... the sun" is simply hilarious.
  • Constance seeing a picture of Danny.
Constance: He's hot. Are you sure he's dead?
    Debbie: No.
  • In order to get access to the Met's security cameras, Nine-Ball tricks one of the security company's employees into clicking on a website loaded with malware that will let her hijack his computer. She lures him in by constructing an extremely cheesy fan site for his favorite dog breed. How cheesy, you may ask? It autoplays "How Much Is That Doggie in the Window?" And the guy loves it.
  • Daphne's reaction upon first seeing the Toussaint is a moment of awed silence and then a frank and clearly excited "Holy crap!".
  • Jack, while questioning Becker, ponders why Becker would steal a necklace when he has everything- money, status, an apartment... and then he points at the abstract sculptures in one corner and says "Two of these!"
