Even in Hell, there are some laughs to be had.

Unmarked spoilers ahead

  • Pug's Establishing Character Moment is him trying to have a pleasant conversation with the damned soul he's currently poking and prodding the ribs of. All the mortal does is scream and moan in agony while Pug treats it like it's a nice exchange.
  • Pug's myriad reasons for wanting to be a tempter include seeing the world, revealing universal truths, and pranking the pope.
  • Mephistopheles causes Pug to descend into Inelegant Blubbering after rejecting his proposal for a promotion. His first instinct is to raise his arms up as if to say "I didn't do this!". The imp's sobbing goes on for so long that he just leaves.
  • It's heavily implied that clowns keep getting sent to Hell where Pug is.
  • Beelzebub repeatedly interrupting Mammon with dramatic complaints as the latter tries to come up with theories to why the Princes all turned into monstrous Archdemons.
  • After Belphegor states that the best thing to do is nothing, Sheol shouts that he's been doing that like it's something to be proud of. Everyone ignores him.
  • When the meeting of the Princes is over and everyone except Mammon has left, Sheol returns just so he can ask the forlorn Archdemon of Greed for his throne.
  • Pug tells Alichino how when he asked for a snowball fight to a damned soul, the most he got from it was things like "Augh, I can't feel my skin!".
    • Shortly afterwards, Alichino demonstrates her credentials as the progenitor of harlequins by juggling stones, and then somehow hitting distant mortals in the background when she tosses the stones away.
  • While watching the mortal souls ascend to Heaven in the past, Mephistopheles and Sheol talk before the latter starts to have a case of indigestion. The poor demon tries to get out of the way, only to have tons of Hellfire puke cascade onto him from the leviathan's mouth, sending him to the mortal realm in the process.
  • Matilda telling Pug to wait where he is in Gluttony like a parent reprimanding their kid at the mall. And like a little kid, Pug doesn't pay attention, instead remembering a catchy tune from earlier, and wandering off.
  • Pug declaring that bureaucracy is exciting while watching Matilda use every loophole in the book to get through Greed.
    • He later comes to the conclusion that the whole thing is actually about screwing everyone over, though Matilda tells him that word has a different meaning where she's from, so he should pick a different phrase.
  • On the night Matilda met her husband, he learned about demon protocol, and said that he didn't expect what he calls a group of horny dudes in pajamas to have an organized structure. Matilda is more offended by the comment about the pajamas her kind have never worn.
  • Alichino calling Sheol a whining windsock.
  • Alichino gleefully snatching Pug, Matilda, and Mephistopheles so that they can plummet away from Sheol and to the bottom of Hell to warn Lucifer about the Intruders. Everyone except her is screaming their heads off all the way down as they pass the other circles. At one point, they zoom by Beelzebub, who just states a Flat "What" at the sight.
  • During the Intruder invasion, Mammon is delicately polishing one of his riches when Mulciber bursts in, causing him to fumble with the coin he had and nearly drop it. He barely saves it from hitting the ground like it was his own child.
  • When Asmodeus and Beelzebub get out their crowns to looks presentable for Lucifer, the former pulls his out of his massive codpiece, unnerving the Lord of the Flies. He tries to explain that it was spacious enough before Beelzebub cuts him off.
  • Pug complaining about how boring and samey the Intruders are, prompting Mephistopheles to incredulously ask if he'd prefer an army of fluffy bunnies. Alichino gleefully replies that she'd stab them all easily while Keryon tells them all to shut up immediately.
  • Sheol having to shrink with an instant POP to stop blocking the way to Pride.
  • Lucifer realizing that his tail has been stuck in the frozen lake of his amphitheater the whole time, followed by him sheepishly asking Asmodeus and Beelzebub to free him. Not the most prideful moment for the prince of darkness.
  • Sheol boastfully saying that the denizens of Heaven are probably begging him to come back in a way that makes it very clear he has a hard time believing it. Following that, when he hears that Lucifer really does believe that the Intruders are from Heaven, he drops all the subtlety and flatly tells the Archdemon of Archdemons that he's an idiot.
  • After reuniting within the main Intruder, the Princes declare that they'll save their kind. Sheol will lead the smaller demons to safety, Lucifer says he'll shine light upon them, Abaddon says he'll cut down all obstructions, and Beelzebub jokingly states that he and Asmodeus will think of some witty way to describe their contributions.
