    Xenoblade Chronicles
  • During the opening prologue, Mumkhar quickly shows himself to be a douchebag. When he tries to abandon Dickson and Dunban, Nico gleefully awaits his predictable demise and shows mild disappointment when it isn't shown directly.
  • After Reyn leaves, Nico assumes that Shulk is more than capable of taking on enemies by himself. Nico barely escapes with his life from a crab.
    • This is shown to be karma since Nico treated the wildlife as easy fodder beforehand.
  • Nico himself has admitted that the "Previously on" segment this time around is the dumbest intro he's ever done: A clip of The Road to El Dorado playing as he says "El Monado~" and a picture of the Monado floats down from offscreen.
  • In the second episode, Nico learns the hard way that Xenoblade has no qualms about putting level 70+ enemies in the beginning area. By the time he notices and declares his intent to run, it's too late.
  • After learning about the Heart-to-Heart mechanic where he can bond with not just his party members, but also all the named NPCs in a game, Nico begins calling the game Persona on Crack. He even claims that you can have sex with anyone, even the guys.
Nico!Reyn: Hey Shulk, (in a deep manly voice) it's Reyn-time
    • On this subject, Nico jokingly states that Erik x Monica (aka two minor NPCs) is the most important relationship in the game.
  • When the game tells Nico to encourage his teammates in a battle, Nico points out how noisy the party already is while fighting.
  • When Nico went to buy better armor for his party, he end up getting Fiora a bikini since it's technically the best armor for her. He ad-lib how the scenario would play out.
Fiora!Nico: It's a little- I'm a little cold guys! Come on, do I have to really wear these!?
Shulk!Nico: Yes it's incredibly important, it's the most powerful equipment we have. Right Reyn?
    Reyn!Nico: Y-y-yeah, what...uh...uh Shulk said.
Nico!Fiora: *Beat* You guys suck, you know that.
  • In a sidequest where Shulk and friends has to save a Nopon named Niranira because of a dare made by Moritz, Nico decides to kick Moritz to his demise. For some reason this cause the town to cheer for him and level their bond.
  • After seeing so many overleveled enemies in the Bionis' Leg region, Nico points out that the Mechon are probably the least of their troubles.
  • In Episode 6, Nico fights a Mechon while controlling Shulk, but notices the rotating blades heading towards him. He manages to get to safety in time, but the Mechon and his teammates weren't as attentive, causing everyone but Shulk to be pushed into a pit.
    • Helps that he gets the "Some Help You Are!"note  achievement for it. The game is saying Nico was somehow the idiot here.
  • Nico's reaction to seeing Fiora coming back after he thought she was Killed Off for Real.
    • Related is when Shulk and Melia talk about Shulk's sorrow over failing to save Fiora while Fiora is currently in the party.
  • Nico reacting to an enemy called M76/Moist.
  • Right when Episode 20 begins, one of Nico's party members jumps off a bridge thanks to Artificial Stupidity.

    Xenoblade Chronicles 2
  • At the start of this LP, the lack of a logo at the title screen with there just being a bunch of stormy clouds has Nico stating he might be actually playing some weather simulator instead.
  • Nico's intro for the episodes: "And now back to Rex and his big stupid pants."
    • Especially funny in Episode 2 of the Let's Play. In the first episode, Nico set aside some time from playing to rant about how much he hates the design of Rex's pants. In the next episode, the "Previously On" clip has bits and pieces of this rant put in, including the part at the end where Nico claims to have got it all out of his system and won't complain about Rex's pants again. Cue the intro.
    • Comes to a head once Rex becomes the Master Driver - and changes his outfit to something Nico finds cooler. Even the intro has Nico being distracted from his normal intro by heavenly music, and when it actually happens, he is ecstatic about the new "cool stupid pants".
      • The next episode's intro is changed to ".. and his STUPID SEXY PANTS!"
      • It reaches a head in the intro to final episode of the main game, where Nico becomes so enamored by Rex's new pants that he leaves to go buy some himself.
  • Rex falls into the Cloud Sea accidentally while Nico is exploring...and his falling scream is so hilarious that Nico promptly hurls Rex off again just to hear it.
  • During Episode 3, Nico spends enough time on his intro that the in-game clock ticks to morning while in the eternally sunny Dreamworld Elysium, causing Rex to interrupt with "It's a new day everyone!" Nico is understandably confused.
    • The characters interrupting Nico's intros by randomly noting the time of day becomes a minor Running Gag, with Nico generally responding by telling them to shut up.
  • Nico's increasingly amused reactions to Rex's lack of one to Pyra's features. He eventually has to pause to explain that Rex is either the most Celibate Hero known to mankind or the scriptwriters weren't communicating with Pyra's designers at all when Rex comes out of unconsciousness on her lap...and he completely ignores the breasts in his face, which Nico does not buy at all.
  • Nico misses a few very important words in one of Tora's battle quotes. Keep in mind, he thought Tora was a bit of a pervert when first meeting him.
Tora: Tora is hungry and comingnote !
Nico explodes into a fit of laughter
  • After the Wham Episode where Mythra reveals herself, Nico himself reveals something else - even after Pyra and Mythra became Super Smash Brothers Ultimate characters, he never realized Pyra and Mythra exist in the same body, having honestly assumed that they were teleporting in and out. He spends the rest of the episode wondering exactly how oblivious he is.
  • After Mythra decides to become the active personality for a bit, Nico happily does something he has wanted for a while - dress her in her less revealing Smash outfit. And then wonders why Pyra doesn't have a version that hides her thong.
  • When Zeke joins the party, a bored Nico starts skipping through Awakening cutscenes as he hits Common Blade after Common Blade...and naturally, is blindsided when he skips one cutscene and finds the Blade he unknowingly summoned is KOS-MOS. Who, it should be noted, has a base chance of being pulled of 0.1 percent. Nico is just plain stunned for a good minute.
    • When meeting Amalthus in-person, Nico jokes that the true reason for the core cleansing procedure is that the Praetor spent all these years trying to find KOS-MOS for himself.
  • Morytha's Secrets was meant to be a simple sidequest video where Nico tries to complete Adenine's Blade Quest, which causes Nico to head to the World Tree, where the story wants him to go. Nico voices his worries about accidently progressing the story too far right before hitting an Event Flag that causes Indol to become hostile territory, preventing him from completing that area's quests.
  • Nico gets quite a bit of amusement from finding out Dahlia and Ursula were drawn by the same artist.
  • For Torna ~ The Golden Country, Nico's intro is just the memetic Michael Scott Big "NO!" / Rapid-Fire "No!" from The Office (US) because he knows that no matter how Torna ends, it's gonna hurt.

    Xenoblade Chronicles 3
  • Why is Nico doing this game when it took two years before he did its prequel? Because it cuts off the potential source of spam requests at the root, as opposed to reading "play XC2" from Simmons again....and again...and again...
    • Adding to it, the "and now back to..." segment for this series is Simmons himself breaking into Nico's house asking him when he's gonna play Xenoblade 3.
  • Riku's actual voice blindsides Nico, who was giving his unvoiced dialogue the cutesy Nopon voice he generally uses...and then Riku speaks in a cutscene, causing Nico to crack up for the rest of the runtime of said cutscene at how ridiculously deep he sounds.
    • The Brick Joke in Episode 3 involves Nico-as-Riku wondering if Manana also has a contralto... and when she turns out to have a normal cute Nopon tone, he promptly advocates going back to killing each other.
  • Just like in the last game, Nico's intros frequently get interrupted by the party members talking about random stuff, only this time it tends to happen multiple times per intro.
    • Episode 13 also features the outro getting interrupted by a random enemy attacking the party.
  • The first time Nico runs into Juniper, he immediately comments on how they have "Rex's stupid pants", and expresses a desire to "kill the pants".
  • Immediately after it was revealed that the Queen of Keves was just a Rotten Robotic Replacement of the real Melia, Nico comments on how "his Melia bot broke".
  • After joining the Lost Numbers group in Chapter 5, everyone in the party is given an eyepatch to wear before entering the city. When Nico pauses the game to check something, the angle in which the characters are positioned made Taion, who is wearing normal glasses, look like he had Cool Shades.
Nico!Taion: Goddamn guys, that last fight was... (puts sun glasses on) easy.
    *cool explosion on the back*
  • In Colony Mu, the party runs into a young girl named Nico who talks in Third-Person Person, leading Nico the LP-er to repeatedly insist that Nico isn't Nico, Nico is Nico!
  • Nico (that's the LP-er) encountered a glitch where his party members got stuck fidgeting in between a space at very fast speeds, and shortly after all of his party members started to get stuck on it one by one! Cue Nico ad-libbing how the group all walked into it asking what's going on and getting stuck in the glitch for a while only for the next one to do the same.
  • During Ino's sidequest, he gets put in battle where, in a homage to the previous game, puts the main battle theme in the final phase of the Boss Battle of the side quest. Uncounciously, Nico starts humming it, and quickly realizes that he's humming a theme from another game.
    • Next episode, everytime Nico refers to the battle theme of that game, he refers to it as the "Don't forget me" song, with quick cuts of the song.
  • Nico-the-NPC pops up again during another quest and refers to herself as "the one and only Nico"; Nico-the-LP-er immediately accuses her of trying to gaslight him.
  • While the end of Chapter 5 itself is a major Tear Jerker, there's some Black Comedy value in Nico's Wrong Genre Savvy being utterly shattered when he comes to the moment he was expecting the Lost Numbers to play Big Damn Heroes at the moment of Mio's Homecoming - and it does not happen. He's left wondering if he got a bad ending.
  • Due to the nature of episode 33, the only mildly funny moment that Nico uses in his Previously on… is just a moment where "Mio" corrects a crying Sena on not apologizing too much, only for Sena to apologize again.
  • While accompanying Kyrie, a member of Teach's colony, for a sidequest, they come across wolf enemies on the way. However, Nico decides to leave Kyrie to fight alone to see if she manages to stand up and kill the enemies. Que Nico adlibbing the whole interaction.
Nico!Noah: Uhm, should we be helping her?
Nico!Mio: Nah she's doing great! See look! That one's dying over there.
Nico!Noah: Yeah he has like, two percent of his life gone.
  • During Isurd's Ascension Quest, the group is trying to look for a spa for Isurd due to how overwork he is and when they do find a hotspring, Nico gets a bit too enthusiastic when Isurd tries to get everyone to bathe.
    Taion: But commander...
Nico!Isurd: Take you clothes off dammit!
  • When Nico wakes up Nia up from sleeping in Cloudkeep, Nico wants to speak during the cutscene so he pauses it, only for him to pause the exact moment a projectile is seen shooting towards Nia. It's even funnier considering that when he unpauses it, the scene immediatly cuts to Nia already being shot.
  • Nico spends the upcoming episodes trying to complete the maps of Aionios in their entirety. But he finds trouble on the Fornis Region, where he's almost sure that the one area that he lacks was behind a door he encountered early in the game. Up until episode 50, he almost goes mad trying to open it and searching a quest to where they open the door, and it would not be until the previously mentioned episode that he would open it in Segiri's Ascencion quest. He even mentioned that he doesn't care about Origin, Consul Z, and the colliding universes, but only finding out what's behind the door.
  • In one of Colony 0's side quests, Sena is giving everyone in the colony names to replace their number asignations. When going unto No. 8, she chooses the name "Eilic", to which Nico occurs to make the brilliant joke of "Eilic these nuts". Queue Nico laughing of how dumb his own joke was.
