Funny / Kung Fu Panda 4

Go To

When your favorite kung-fu fighting and hungry panda returns, we're all obviously gonna have a good laugh.

Trailer

  • At one point during Shifu's lecture on Po's new responsibility of being the spiritual leader, this happens:
Shifu: What is that you're holding?
    Po: [mouthful] A cookie.
[Shifu proceeds to wack the cookie off Po's hand]
  • Po's inner peace meditation:
Po: [voice] Inner peace. Inner peace. Dinner please. Dinner with peas, in a sesame soy glaze. Snow peas...
[Po suddenly opens his eyes with a disgruntled look]
Po: [out loud] This is not working at all.
  • The fact that when Zhen warns Po of the Chameleon, he says her name along with the word "The".
  • When Po finds out about Zhen's criminal history, he is understandably shocked but Zhen's reaction?
Zhen: [casually] You sound surprised, is this surprising?
  • The violence-loving rabbit kids.
Rabbit Kid: Violence makes our tummies tingle.
  • Po breathing in a lot of cherry blossom petals, possibly as a callback to the last movie.
  • In the Tavern Brawl clip, while Po and Zhen fight off many people, as a result of her cheating at a game, she attempts to steal stuff a lot of times only for Po to stop her from doing so, while they continue fighting.
  • The clip of Li and Ping climbing a mountain, while the panda hanging for dear life while Ping tries to save him is otherwise tense, it's suddenly revealed that they're not even that high up. Li snarks to Ping: "How's that for acting brave?"

Film

  • As Po is signing autographs for his fans, he accidentally signs Shifu's forehead. He tries to rub it off, but just makes it worse.
    • Later, he's posing for pictures at the noodle shop, and doesn't realize he's posing with an irate Shifu until he sees the picture. He later orders a wallet-size copy.
  • Po hears his inner voice talking to him…which is then followed by multiple Po heads and voices talking to him all at once before he yells in frustration.
    • Later, Po then hears two Shifus as his voice of reason, with both of them sharing a mutual disappointment in Po.
    • A little after that, after Han says that they have all heard of “the legendary Shifu” (but know nothing of Po and his exploits), the two Shifus reappear to high-five each other over being called “legendary”.
    • Near the climax, the two Shifus tell Po that he did it their way, now it's time for him to kick butt.
    • Near the end when Shifu is meditating, he gets bothered by the Po heads.
  • The Written-In Absence of each of the Furious Five is easy to understand, but Po gets confused with the plural of mongoose ("or is it mongeese?") and pretty much tells the others that Mantis is trying to literally keep his head. The head of his Mantis figure pops off, but he catches it and replaces it.
  • Early in the movie, Po mentions a fire-breathing crocodile as being one of the villains he’s defeated over the years, though he can’t remember his name. Later, when he sees the evil, deceased kung-fu masters the Chameleon resurrected and put in cages, he finds the crocodile in one of the cages. Po doesn’t recognize him, causing the crocodile to get annoyed and say that he’s Scott the fire-breathing crocodile. Po then comments “Right! Scott! Master Shifu and I were just talking about you!”. To make it even worse for him, the credits can't remember either and just call him "Fire-Breathing Crocodile".
  • When watching for potential candidates to succeed Po as the Dragon Warrior, one of them is a pig who is dressed up like Po even having black and white make-up on to look more like a panda. He even uses Po's catchphrase of "Skadoosh". The kicker? This pig is voiced by MrBeast who had actually rehearsed this one word with Jack Black.
  • The way Granny Boar and her workers do their best to keep the restaurant from falling off the cliff due to the weight of Po (and later Li) causing it to tilt.
  • When Ping and Li arrive at the Happy Bunny Tavern, Ping goes inside to ask if Po passed through and claims he's the young panda's father. Due to the damage Po and Zhen caused earlier, they're not too happy with and try to get revenge for Po's antics. Li enters with a straw hat and cape acting like a jerkass tough guy saying Po learned everything from him except mercy not knowing where his son got that from because he doesn't believe in it. Everyone cowers in fear as Li then swipes a cup from a customer, drinks out of it and then crushes it with his hand. He nearly blows his cover when he notices splinters in his palm. The papa panda goes to a table of guys playing mahjong, takes some pieces and eats them and tries to spit them out only to spit out his teeth, blowing his cover for real.
    • In the end, as Li and Ping get ready to leave, Li accidentally knocks the whole restaurant into the water.
  • As the Juniper Police Force (which seems entirely staffed by bulls) chase Po and Zhen, they enter an antique shop and all slow down to not damage the merchandise as the employee look on anxiously and sighs in relief after they leave without breaking anything.
  • While Po and Zhen are on the run from the Juniper City guards, Po accidentally smashes a merchant's durian cart... twice. Poor fella has the cabbage guy's luck.
  • Ping and Li climb a mountain staircase on their journey to reach Po, but one of the steps comes loose under Li's weight, and he and Ping have a dramatic moment where Ping tries to pull him up but fails, leading to Li falling and screaming...about six feet below onto the ground, where he's just fine.
  • The gang of crooks misconstruing Po attempt at 'Words of wisdom'.
  • Although Po is famous, he learns to his dismay that he is not world-famous, and nobody in Juniper City has even heard of him, except the Chameleon. He’s even more annoyed when he learns that although the people of Juniper City haven’t heard of him, they ''have'' heard of Shifu. Now he knows how Kai felt in the third movie.
    • Bonus is that Han despite knowing Shifu, doesn't know his mentor, Master Oogway. He somehow knows a kung fu master, but not that master's master.
  • Po and Zhen go through a passage and try to sneak past The Chameleon's numerous sleeping guards, but Po makes the mistake of letting the metal lid slowly roll away. Onto the stairway. Making a loud clang every time it hits one of the steps. This, for whatever reason, doesn't alert the guards. As for what does? Zhen stopping Po's Ill-Timed Sneeze, only for it to go backwards and emerge as a pathetic little toot, which is somehow enough to instantly awaken all of them.
  • The Chameleon waits for the blood moon to fully rise to enact her plan. However, she grows impatient with how slow the moon is moving and asks if it is always this slow. In the end, she decides to just get to work as the moon was just for aesthetics.
  • While the thieves fight the Chameleon's guards, Ping and Li sit on lounge chairs sipping drinks as they enjoy the show.
  • When The Chameleon talks while transformed into Tai Lung, the real, captured Tai Lung looks perplexed and asks; “Do I sound like that?”
    • Tai Lung rooting for... whoever while Po and The Chameleon duke it out. He's then asked by Scott the fire-breathing crocodile who he is rooting for. Tai Lung's response? He isn't sure himself, it’s a very confusing situation.
  • Zhen tries to save Po from the Chameleon by swinging in on one of her cages only to fly right between them. Po and Chameleon look at each other mildly confused.
  • The end music is a cover of Baby One More Time of all things performed by Tenacious D.
