• Koan 174, in which the guru converses with the Goddess about saving his school from being repossessed by the banker.
  but when he told her what the tortoise had done, she cried. she told him, "here is what you do: you forget the school. you become a wandering teacher, traveling across the world, teaching lessons of good will and compassion to all that you see. in this way, you will transform the world. you do not need a school."
  
  the guru replied, "but it's so pretty!"
