• A lot of the banter between Finnick and Johanna is light and witty, like her making up a story about there being cake so they have an excuse to break up a conversation and Finnick mockingly complaining about Johanna luring him with false pretenses.
• When Blight The Alcoholic tries to teach nine-year-old Joey how to cook, Johanna watches their efforts and says that Joey teaching Blight how to cook would be a lot safer.
• While on a rebel mission, a disguised Johanna pretends to mistake her Sit Com Arch Nemesis Cashmere for Haymitch just to Troll her.
• Chaff doesn't know the female morphling's name and introduces her to Johanna as "Err…."
• A horrifying moment where Joey has been beaten by a Peacekeeper and is being operated on by the healer turns humorous when the healer's nephews debate about the proper moniker for a resident of District 2 ("District seconder", etc.).
• In a literal Gallows Humor moment, Johanna tells two locals who have just killed a Peacekeeper not to comfort each other when they could spend that time running. Otherwise, they'll end up in the song "Hanging Tree."
