Funny / I've Been Killing Slimes for 300 Years and Maxed Out My Level

Go To

Per wiki policy, Spoilers Off applies here and all spoilers are unmarked. You Have Been Warned.

  • The confusion that Falfa causes when she first meets Azusa. To put it in Azusa's perspective: a young girl shows up at your house, addresses you as "Mama" (even claiming that you gave birth to her) and warns you about her younger twin sister, who wants to kill you as a means to avenge her death, and not even once does she mention that she and her sister are spirits created from the souls of dead slimes.
    • The little comedy skit between Laika and Azusa during this too, portrayed and translated a little differently in each medium but basically "I have much to learn from you, Lady Azusa!" "You don't need to learn THAT!"
    • Even better is the anime, where Azusa goes all Color Failure when Falfa addresses her as "Mama".
  • As Azusa is incapable of fighting Shalsha, Laika steps in to help. Then she raises a few death flags by saying she's got Azusa's back and that she'll never lose so she can attend her sister's wedding. ...Then a light push is enough to beat Shalsha as her magic was specifically targeted for Azusa and does nothing to anyone else.
  • Falfa and Shalsha, being slime spirits, are capable of hearing the screams of slimes as they are killed.
  • Falfa going "You Are Already Dead" on an evil slime as she and Shalsha explain the differences between good and evil slimes and how bad slimes have a weak point.
  • Halkara arrives at the door and is desperate for help against Beelzebub. After a Beat Azusa quietly closes the door.
Halkara: Why are you closing the door without saying anything!?
Azusa: Okay, goodbye. I'm closing the door!!
Halkara: That's not what I meant!!
    • The anime version of the event is just as funny, with Azusa saying "I'm not home right now" before closing the door.
    • Furthermore, when Halkara initially asks for help, Azusa, upon seeing her curvy body, has a guess as to what the problem could be:
    • When Halkara tries flattery to get Azusa to help her:
Azusa: Stop making me sound like a wrestler!
  • When asked for her age, Halkara says "Seventeen! And 2,500 months."
Azusa: You're well over 200 years old!
  • As Halkara tries on the robe that Azusa gives her when she poses as her second apprentice, the robe ends up being too small for her, with her breasts and rear being exposed (with Laika covering Falfa and Shalsha's eyes during this ordeal).
  • Halkara mistakenly eats some aphrodisiac mushrooms while exploring the nearby forest with Azusa.
  • After the buildup of Beelzebub fighting Azusa, Azusa accidentally wins due to Beelzebub bumping into the barrier she set up earlier and getting zapped like she was on a bug zapper. Ironic since Beelzebub is the Lord of the Flies.
    Beelzebub: That's unfair!!
    • She still tries to pretend she could still fight, but slowly collapses saying she's feeling sick and about to throw up.
  • Azusa's family is preparing to open a cafe for the town festival (as per the anime, since Rosalie and Flatorte aren't around yet in the other versions):
    • They get their sizes measured for waitress outfits. Falfa & Shalsha are normal. Then the tailor seems confused with Flatorte's tail. Then Halkara looks proud as her chest size is measured while Azusa has a look of disapproval. Then the tailor falls through Rosalie.
    • They try on the outfits. Azusa, Falfa & Shalsha are normal. Halkara's chest is still so tight that Azusa thinks she should be banned. Flatorte thinks she'd be more comfortable naked. Rosalie needs magic again to change her clothes, but nothing unusual. Laika is introduced with blinding light like a goddess and everyone finds her so precious, especially more as she gets embarrassed.
    • They try to decide the menu. Halkara's "Fifteen-Flavor Aphrodisiac Drink Blend" and "Drink Daily to Grow Taller in a Month! Bone-Lengthening Herbal Blend" are rejected then she finds something more normal. Laika suggests a competition of eating a giant omelet within 30 minutes to get their meal for free. Flatorte suggests endless meat. Halkara has another idea of creating a meal from 36 types of mushrooms, but Azusa is certain some poison would get mixed in. Falfa suggests grasshoppers.
  • When Azusa summons Beelzebub for her help, due to her mispronouncing the spell she usually appears in the bathtub full of water.
  • Poor Halkara's soul is so weak after being possessed that Rosalie finds it hard to leave her body. Beelzebub is surprised to hear that, saying there was no precedent for such a thing ever happening.
    • The abuse that Rosalie/Halkara goes through to get her out, which in the manga features strong punches to the back by Shalsha, carrying her in the air as high as possible, suddenly dropping her from said height, Asuza's Obon Shouryoumas, which just confuse Rosalie and Laika, some ritual by Beelzebub while being tied up, almost being sent to the afterlife by a priest, which is a case of working a bit too well, drinking strong alcohol, and finally being thrown into a bathtub of cold water.
    • In the anime, Rosalie's not tied up for Beelzebub's ritual, which helps her leg it when it summons a giant spider monster instead. Then the Shouryoumas get sent down the river... with Rosalie alongside them in a boat, firmly wrapped up.
  • While Azusa's family is planning on how to get to Pecora to save Halkara, Laika reveals that she can freely control the size of her dragon form and turns about dog-sized. Azusa is frozen for a moment then hugs her tight. After the initial shock wears off, Laika admits the hug is nice. Then suddenly flies out to do her job.
    Azusa: How cute!!
    Laika: W-wait, no. I'm not a doll!!
  • On the way back home from the demon realms, there's suddenly an earthquake, except they are on a leviathan in the air. It was Vania laughing from suddenly remembering a random 2 year old comedy skit.
  • After Azusa finds a loophole to release Flatorte from slavery, she proudly declares: "Flatorte is not a dog! I am an obedient free dragon who is devoted to my mistress!!" Then 2 pages later for a bonus illustration at the end of the chapter, Laika proudly built her a dog house labeled "Flatorte".
  • A manga scene cuts from Azusa's house to Vanzeld Castle as if Azusa, Beelzebub and Laika jumped there. Beelzebub and Laika are confused on what happened while Azusa thanks Laika for flying here as usual.
  • While trying to look for an unfamiliar room, Beelzebub gets lost in her own castle for 2 hours.
    • Fatla was just watching them the whole time despite knowing where they have to go. Finally appearing only when Azusa says they'll need help.
  • The Intelligent Slime communicates by smashing itself into the wall written with letters. And sometimes makes typos that have to be discarded. This reminds Azusa of keyboards.
  • Azusa gives simple names to the Intelligent Slime and Magician Slime: Intellie and Magie. Beelzebub comments that her naming sense is "a little on the nose". Then it turns out the Fighter Slime named itself in a similar way too: Fightie.
  • Beelzebub and Azusa enter a martial arts tournament and defeat everyone in one punch without even paying attention.
    • Beelzebub decides to follow Azusa's Theme Naming when making up an alias for herself: Belzie.
    • Fightie gets some focus during the story as possibly being a strong opponent. Azusa then observes her fight with Beelzebub but she too is defeated in one punch. While she sadly walks away and Beelzebub looks pleased with herself, Azusa gets frustrated and annoyed that it seems like she forgot why they are here.
    • When it's their turn to fight each other, Beelzebub starts by rushing forward, dodges a punch, and flies to cautiously observe from the air. She's confused because Azusa is full of openings.
    • Beelzebub then dive bombs her. After the dust from the huge impact settles, Azusa is stretching and making a funny face on Beelzebub.
  • Azusa's disappointment to hear that Fightie's motive to get stronger is simply to earn a lot of money from tournaments.
  • Flatorte becomes the Butt-Monkey while she's hunting for boars. First her clothes get tangled in branches as she runs into the woods. Frustrated by this, she abruptly decides to strip naked to the shock of Azusa, Laika and Rosalie. Then gets embarassed to be seen naked when she runs off again to the river. She compromises by wearing her underwear only, but they and her other clothes get taken and thrown into the river one by one by the boars. Having nothing to lose now, she argues this isn't strange since all living creatures are born naked anyway (her family disagrees). Then engages in naked combat.
  • Azusa and Laika are tracking an imposter by following her rumors. Then one of the merchants Azusa talks to mentions that the fake Highland Witch looked different than she heard: a beautiful girl. Flattered by this, Azusa buys all of her apples and oranges. Later, they get tired of eating too much of them.
  • Azusa and Laika help Eno sell a medicine she developed. However as Eno's usual personality is so shy, they are bewildered to find her trying out a new persona in full Magical Girl costume. They are confused on how this wouldn't be more embarrassing.
  • In the LN, to investigate Pondeli's graveyard, Azusa's group make up an excuse that Vania enjoys looking at graves. She strongly denies it to which Fatla covers up her mouth. And then the villager mentions the grave of someone who won an orange eating competition and that their gravestone looks like an orange. Vania immediately runs off to admire it and they have to drag her into Pondeli's house later.
  • Azusa finds it hard to imagine Beelzebub working professionally, so Vania & Fatla suggest seeing it for herself while invisible. She has a miserable time because she has to stay still on the floor and there's nothing entertaining about office work. She gives up hiding when she's about to miss lunch.
    • Fatla covers her well when Beelzebub thinks she senses something. In contrast to Vania making suspiciously specific denials, loudly burping to hide Azusa's growling stomach, and just freaking out trying to explain the 4th lunch box.
  • Azusa accidentally eats Halkara's gnome mushrooms which shrinks her to a size of a child.
    • Her entire family and the demons really treat her like one to her annoyance. Only Fatla still treats her with respect and professionalism.
    • In the Light Novel, Asuza is sitting on the floor when Falfa comes to feed her a cookie. "Stop treating me like a child! Wait, I am a child," she says then opens her mouth wide for the cookie. She comments "Mmm! Good stuff!" as her child self enjoys the cookie.
    • Halkara was out for the day researching an antidote. She returns that night with a big smile, approaches her with an acrobatic flip... and deeply apologizes with every fiber of her being.
    • Even Beelzebub thinks she's so cute and suggests living as the most powerful child ever. She concedes when Azusa points out she'll then have a reputation of being defeated by a child.
      • Later, when taking Azusa to Vanzeld to find a way to revert her back to her normal size, Beelzebub takes advantage of the situation to invite Falfa and Shalsha as well so that way she can sleep with the three during the overnight trip, with her having Vania prepare a gingerbread house for the sleepover.
    • Azusa can't reach a door handle so Falfa has to open it for her. Vania loudly laughs while Fatla tries hard not to. Azusa says that the demon castle should be changed to be more accessible to kids.
    • Despite trying to not get her attention, Pecora already knew about Azusa and greets her in the guest room. Then insists that she'll take care of her for the rest of her life, or at least until she gets tired, while spinning her around.
    • When Azusa argues that people with power shouldn't be greedy, Pecora suggests they should ask the slime kids' opinions. While bribing them with sweets if they agree that Azusa should stay as a child. The kids have to give it some serious thought, but what almost gets them to agree (until they are reminded to be considerate of Azusa's wants) is wanting a cute younger sister.
  • Everything about the mystical World Tree, besides seeing its size, breaks Azusa's enthusiasm, wonder and dreams.
    • The fact that it's even real and could easily be visited like a field trip. Turns out most human legends were based on real places in the demon society.
    • It has become a major tourist attraction and is completely surrounded by inns and food stalls.
    • Azusa learns the details of the tree from a guidebook. It's a dungeon with 108 floors of mazes or wild animals guarding the way to the top. Azusa is motivated to go through it... and sees a paid elevator which helps the tourists easily go up the tree. Azusa is crying at this point.
    • Fatla cheers her up saying there are still floors without an elevator which have wild animals. Azusa is still upset by their names: "The wolf of the 11th floor", "The wolf of the 12th floor".
    • Azusa quietly eats some fried bread Vania bought earlier while on the elevator.
    • The wolves are now domesticated after interacting with the tourists. They want head pats and belly rubs while wagging their tails.
Azusa: What is this, a petting zoo?
    • As the maintenance cost increases on the upper floors, the next elevators get more expensive and go up less floors.
Azusa: I only remember spending money and playing with animals...
    • They finally meet a real challenge starting from floor 85: The Snotty Sloth.
    • Once they make it to the top, the pharmacist tells them that a medicine was recently discovered to work well against the mushroom. Then pulls out a very familiar looking bottle, something Azusa already has one of at home: Eno's Mandragora Pills. Then Eno shows up with her next delivery and reveals that a) while dragons can't fly straight to the top of the World Tree, wyverns can, and b) she delivers the pills to Vanzeld Castle too, and she's certain Pecora knows that. Meaning they could have avoided all this in the first place.
  • In the manga, when Azusa notices Schifanoia's poster she gets a feeling she's about to meet another weirdo. She thinks about Fightie, Eno, Pondeli, and also Beelzebub who's upset to be included in the list.
    • Just the fact that Kuku (Schifanoia) has a “lute” that looks and performs like a Gibson Flying V, which is decidedly not a lute. Also, that the “minstrel” is a Bunny Girl made up like a Death Metal rocker.
    • Schifanoia’s first riff is more of a sonic boom that blasts Rosalie into A Twinkle in the Sky.
  • Azusa's family tries to write their own music Kuku can use, with each song shown like a music video.
    • Laika has a nationalistic sounding marching song about being devoted to your work. Azusa cuts it early saying the message is too direct. Then Laika is shocked that Flatorte calls it unusuable.
    • Halkara's is just an advertisement for her Nutri-Spirit. Azusa cuts it without even giving constructive criticism.
    • Falfa & Shalsha's starts as a cute children's song about insects, then gets theological about the meaning of their own existence. Azusa loves their cute performance. Flatorte finds the theological elements to be novel. Everyone else is lost for words.
    • Rosalie's is about absolute nothingness, depression and death. Everyone is in a gloomy mood and Rosalie has to clarify that she's acutally having a fun time.
    • In the LN and manga, Azusa quietly tries to avoid her turn but Halkara insists she should show hers too. She sings a few lines about romance, but stops in embarrassment. Flatorte's comments that it just sounds like she's saying cliche phrases without real emotions put into it doesn't help.
  • Azusa's visit to the Blue Dragon village along with Laika and Flatorte.
    • They live in a snowy area and go to sleep early, and there are no bars or inns. So they have to go back down the mountain to a nearby town after wondering what to do for a while in the dark and cold.
    • They were worried that Flatorte would get ridiculed for losing to the Red Dragons and becoming Azusa's servant. However while the Blue Dragons value strength they are also very forgiving. So Flatorte's parents' comments are an odd mix of being proud of their daughter interacting with the strongest beings and encouraging more violence.
    • The parents are immediately eager to fight against the Witch of the Highlands. Along with the entire village.
    • Starting with Flatorte's family, Azusa ends up beating up over 50 of them one by one.
    • Laika uses this chance to test her growth and requests Azusa to not hold back. She ends up crash landing far away outside the village and weakly says she can't stand up.
    • Flatorte says Azusa should expect to fight the entire village all over again everytime they visit it.
  • They return back home and can hear that Kuku's musical talent has greatly improved... on gloomy songs.
    • Flatorte is proud of her progress.
    • Falfa welcomes Azusa home with heavy steps.
    • Shalsha is moping with her forehead against the wall while muttering about the philosophy of despair.
    • They assume Halkara would be fine at work, but they find her in bed with no motive to live and thinking the entire world should burn. They snap her out of it by force feeding her a Nutri-Spirit.
    • Rosalie startles Azusa by coming out of the floor. She finds the lyrics a joke compared to her own experience with death and pain.
    • They move Kuku's workshop into the underground cellar.
  • Azusa visits Pondeli's game shop and is bewildered by how demons play card games. Some tables have magic that deal fire and lightning damage to players. And there's blatant cheating which they call psychological warfare. Such as female players abusing the Clothing Damage to claim the male opponents are perverts, ripping curtains to get around that, burning the building (and getting arrested), cutting each other with the cards...
    • A reward that Pondeli gives is a special Azusa card which shows her panties.
    • Shalsha is banned from playing demon games. She's disappointed but understands.
  • The manga's version of the final day of the demon music festival: the Demon King performs a ceremony for the spirits of sound, but what that actually means can be flexible. It turns out Pecora's interpreted it as giving an idol performance, leaving Asuza, Laika and Kuku varying degrees of dumbfounded. Then Pecora pulls Beelzebub in for a duet, and it's evident Beelzebub's into this despite Fatla informing Asuza she did her best to refuse it.
  • Azusa thinks she should improve her witch reputation so she's looking for new medicine herbs with Halkara. After having sweets from a new town, she gets inspired to recreate Manjū (renamed Edible Slime, then Flatta Cake) for the twins. Which then sells well at Flatta followed by mass production at Halkara's factory. She also recreates mochi (renamed Leaf Slime). The Nascute villagers think she's better at desserts than medicine and a rumor starts to spread that she worked for 300 years to become the Witch of the Pastries. She gets a small identity crisis.
    • While looking for herbs Laika found an elephant to ride on.
    • While Azusa tries cooking from memory and lacking certain ingredients, Flatorte happily eats all her failed attempts. And also was counting that it took 118 tries. Rosalie then corrects her that she failed 5 more times before she came.
  • Flatorte is itching to fight hard monsters and finds a campaign notice to the world's 3rd largest underground dungeon at Bugabee. Azusa senses something shady but is also looking forward to her first dungeon adventure.
    • Azusa doesn't want to attract attention, so Flatorte gives her a headband with dragon horns. When Laika sees her, she's stunned then embarrased and runs to her room with her hands on her face. Halkara thinks they look good for medicine. The others think she's cute.
    • Azusa tries to think of a cute dragon name and also wonders if the dragons' occupation should be Warriors. Beelzebub gets impatient and writes down Azuzard and "Unemployed" for them. Laika is upset but Flatorte is proud. She also legally has to submit herself as "Minister" and is proud of it.
Flatorte: Being jobless means endless possibilities. It's like being colorless, we can be any color we want!
    • Beelzebub was also wondering about her dragon horns and says she knows a shady doctor that can transplant them. That is, someone who uses the shade arts and has a legal license.
  • From their home research and the receptionist, this place is declining after the mines depleted and they are stuggling to get tourists. So they tried to turn it into a theme park, underground "ruins", and now a dungeon when they dug up real mysterious ruins.
    • Her confusion to see unemployed dragons, one of which is eager to destroy the dungeon, a minister demon, and "Miss Azuzard the Dragon".
    • The first 7 floors are like a museum. And Laika carefully reads every display while the others are bored. Also Beelzebub finds a stamp sheet to collect on some floors for an additional prize.
    • Laika needs a break but Azusa says there won't be something like a cafe in a dungeon. Then Beelzebub points at the Cafe Sunflower. The talk from the other adventurers while they eat doesn't sound promising.
    • They finally meet a monster: Giant Worm. Then they realize they have no weapons, ice magic is discouraged as it might block the tunnels, and nobody wants to fight the slimy creature barehanded. RUN!!!
    • They meet a Giant Slug. Same problem. RUN!!!
    • There's nothing but worms, slugs and a few Giant Centipedes (Azusa thinks the names are lazy). KEEP RUNNING!!!
Beelzebub: Wait! Stop for a second!
Gets a stamp on her sheet.
    • Azusa finds a feedback box: "The monsters we encounter here are too creepy."
    • Azusa sees a walking suit of armor and tries to punch it, but it's an Armored Snail so she runs away.
  • The mystery ruins part of the dungeon starts at the 30th floor.
    • A sign warns that the worms from here are much stronger.
    • They meet another party they heard about that were killing the monsters by poking them with wooden sticks: Pecora, Fatla, Vania, Fightie.
    • Besides Fightie as a Fighter Demon, they registered themselves as Civil Servant Demons.
    • Fightie wonders if they were killing the gross monsters with their hands, and says they should use "pole arts" instead.
    • Azusa thinks she should enter dungeons with cute... no they would be hard to kill as well.
    • While being disappointed the chests only contain mundane objects, they are surprised to find a way outside from the 35th floor, and they find themselves at the bottom of a ravine. Yufufu's home. The ruins were where the World Spirit Summit used to take place.
    • Laika was drawing detailed maps of the unexplored caves. Yufufu had the floor plans of those because she designed them.
  • Yufufu shows them a deeply hidden but incredibly beautiful Great Falls of the Abyss. And realize they can dig a hole out of the dungeon early and use that as a tourist attraction for Bugabee.
    • On the way back up, they just slowly freeze everything for a change of pace.
    • After announcing they cleared the dungeon, the rewards turn out to be a heavy box of the village's carrots and radishes.
    • The president of tourism is glad to hear about the waterfall. And thanks "Miss Azuzard the Dragon".
Azusa: (thinking) This disguise sure is effective...
    • The story guide of the waterfall tells about dragons and demons that revealed it centuries ago, but got lost until their 5 year project to rediscover it.
  • After Azusa realizes it was a mistake to tell Eno about the mandragora in Beelzebub's garden, she rushes there too to stop her. Beelzebub isn't too worried about chasing away one witch, but no one comes for a few days. Then she finally shows up with dozens of witches, all eagerly marching into the forest while Beelzebub is panicking.
    • Halkara's idea to find the mandragora before the other witches: yell loudly that it's in danger and Azusa is the only safe person. It works.
  • They are looking for a name for the mandragora and Flatorte suggests Drago from shortening it. It calls her an idiot because it sounds too similar to "dragon". Flatorte defends herself by saying all blue dragons are like that.
  • Sandra's first ordeal as part of Azusa's family: The slime kids suddenly pull her out of the garden and drag her to the bath because she's dirty. Unaware that the hot bath water is harmful to her body.
  • When Azusa asks if there's anything Sandra wants to say about living with them, she points out her vegetables are bad. Nobody defends her.
  • The kids try going to an elementary school for a free trial week. On the first day Azusa watches while invisible.
    • The class is given a worksheet with math problems and a boy approaches Falfa to help. But she shocks him because she solved everything already. Then the teacher struggles to give her problems on her level, ending up with Falfa finishing an university level textbook. The class cheers that she beat the demotivated teacher until Sandra scolds them like an adult to calm down, then she continues to work on how to write.
    • At dodgeball the slime kids can throw at powerful speeds making the kids that get hit cry. Falfa believes she should try her best until Shalsha and Sandra catch on that this isn't a good idea.
    • When Sandra is about to get hit she quickly burrows underground. Then she tries to teach the curious kids that it's an easy skill, even though Azusa never saw anyone else who could do that.
    • Shalsha tries to have a deep philosophical discussion with the stumped teacher.
  • Sandra isn't very cooperative when Azusa tries to play house with her as a shoemaker. She says she'll be a big cedar tree, then insists the big sister should be able to write the story. Azusa talks while near the tree, but Sandra is silent because trees don't talk. Azusa says to be a talking tree, but then Sandra just talks about birds and pollen, because trees don't care about a specific human. Azusa suggests playing as a human, but Sandra explains being a tall tree to look at the world is something to look up to. Azusa gives up.
  • A group of criminals kidnap kid Azusa and Sandra while they were shopping with Yufufu. Azusa gets information about them while acting as a kid, then slowly changes her tone to be threatening. Then of course it's a Curb-Stomp Battle after they arrive at their hut, followed by Yufufu arriving with a flood of water.
    • Once again kid Azusa can't reach the door handle of the hut. So she just punches through it.
  • Misjantie the pine spirit is desperate to do more wedding work. She begs Azusa's group to marry someone saying she has lots of ceremony packages, or to do a same-sex marriage, or a joint wedding for a group of people, or a single person loving themself, or between siblings. Azusa points out the entire concept of marriage is falling apart, but does find the last one a good idea for the slime sisters.
  • The spell to summon Misjantie consists of 11 long gibberish words. When Azusa uses it later, she's startled to see her appear 3 inches in front of her face. She explains she can appear very close, or a 10 minute walk away depending on the pronunciation.
  • When Azusa tells Beelzebub that Falfa and Shalsha are getting married, she has a Big "WHAT?!". Until she explains it's to each other to promise they'll always stay close. Beelzebub is glad she won't have to kill the fiancés.
    • Beelzebub thinks a marriage between sisters could be an interesting idea for the demons. Azusa has a Oh, Crap! when she realizes Pecora won't leave her alone when she hears about it.
  • After Falfa and Shalsha's wedding is over Misjantie gave them a pine tree sapling, which then grows to full size in 3 days to Azusa's surprise. Sandra complains this newbie tree is too smug and cheeky and is stealing all the underground nutrients too fast.
  • While training with Laika Fightie hurts her back and reverts to her slime form. Her biggest concern is that she'll miss the prize money from the upcoming tournament. And to everyone's shock she announces that she'll just enter it as a slime.
    • For her own safety and to not attract attention as an unusual slime, Laika helps her by registering as a "slime-mancer".
    • In the final match Azusa looks forward to how Fightie will fight an armored knight, which her usual strategy won't work against. She simply enters the helmet to suffocate him and Azusa is upset that wasn't even a fight.
    • Azusa is also frustrated that Fightie shows up later fully wearing expensive clothes, and even skips Laika's request for training for later to eat some expensive fruit and tea.
  • Azusa's family visit a beach. After they bought and changed into swimsuits, some of them have fun in odd ways.
    • Rosalie chats with drowned spirits and learns that drowning is a very rough way to die. Afterwards she finds a party of spirits in a cave where a lot of bodies wash up to.
    • The slime kids are building a sand castle with double moats and strategically designed defense systems.
    • Sandra hates salt water so she's photosynthesizing on the sand.
  • Halkara walks into the sea and screams, followed by Flatorte who went to drag her out. In the Light Novel these go on for 2 lines each.
  • Azusa's disbelief that Curalina the jellyfish spirit could do nothing to move the swarm of jellyfish in the beach water. Or that she forgot how to make them glow. She thinks she should get fired.
  • Earlier it's established that friendly spirits could contact each other quickly, like how it took Yufufu 15 seconds to bring Curalina here. But she takes 30 minutes to get the wave spirit's help. Because she accidentally went to the waterfall spirit and got served tea.
    • The deal to change the ocean currents is a 3 minute shoulder massage.
  • Mama Yufufu gives Azusa a major haircut, taking her long Rapunzel hair and cutting it down to a bob cut. Halkara, on seeing Azusa's new look, asks if she got the new look because she broke up with her girlfriend. When Azusa asks why Halkara automatically assumed it was a gay relationship, Halkara points out that no one in their family spends very much time around men.
  • While at Halkara's family home, Azusa's family decide to go and visit the elves' grand trees. Asuza gets bored after the tenth tree, while Sandra wants to see more because they're all so different.
  • Foxgirl Azusa goes on a rampage through Vanzeld Castle looking for aburaage, taking down the castle's four Great Lords and the Sealed Evil in a Can Aburange, which got released in a case of mistaken identity, in the process.
  • Azusa's image of Goodly Godly Godness, the goddess who reincarnated her, gets shattered by repeated hits:
    • Learning the goddess ended up in this world because she got demoted;
    • Realizing she lied about coming here of her own volition because she wanted to interact with people;
    • After Azusa demands to know whether the goddess should be admitting to all this, her cheerful response is "Rules are meant to be broken!".
