Despite being veering quite nicely into horror, it's not afraid to have some fun.

  • In one castle you can attack one of the walls and find Inexplicably Preserved Dungeon Meatnote . If your Castlevania instincts tell you to eat it, you're treated to a hilarious cutscene of Alcedor barfing his guts out.note
Wall chicken. What was I thinking... *bleurgh*...
    • It gets even funnier when you have Cervul, while Alcedor is spewing out the wall chicken. Cervul seems to enjoy it even licking the fingertips of his gauntlets while stating that it reminds him of his mother's cooking!
  • At one dead end, you can crouch and wait until a tornado appears, in an intentional reference to the game's biggest influence, Castlevania II: Simon's Quest. Instead of transporting you somewhere else, it utterly shreds you to pieces because it's a tornado. (Even funnier is that you get an achievement for doing so, with its ironic title, "Master of the Wind".) The narration bluntly points out the Schmuck Bait nature of this situation.
If only Alcedor knew that kneeling for ten seconds at that specific location would call upon a deadly tornado... he might not have done it.
  • The Coward ending. Despite being a hardened crusader, Alcedor chooses to turn tail after killing his first zombie, running back to the sailor and telling him that they should leave. What sells this is the fact that Alcedor's ending book image is him pathetically crying in fear.
    • Even funnier? The music playing for the credits is the same found in guardhouses named...."Honor & Courage".
  • The Sleepyhead/Drowsiness ending, which is accessible by sleeping in the inn five times in a row and is a piss-take of the ending of Super Mario Bros. 2. It shows Alcedor snoozing away in bed and dreaming about vanquishing demons... while the world (quite literally) goes to hell in a handbasket outside. Before you get the ending, the innkeeper will warn you by saying "our problems might as well solve themselves".
    • The aforementioned two joke endings are even funnier when you remember that Alcedor leaves the Crusades because he's tired of fighting. Those endings are him avoiding further conflict exactly as he wants!
  • If you choose to burn the caged monster and never finish it off, it will still be burning in the ending. What makes this funnier is how well-deserved it is: it's the only being in the game that will attack you even if you spare it.
  • Mayor Edgar might be a tyrant to his subjects, but he is also a lickspittle to his higher-ups. During your first meeting, you make him stand up when you look at him, but he will sit down when you don't. Turn around rapidly and he will start standing up and sitting down rapidly as well. He will even complain if you keep doing so.
  • In a Good playthrough, when Dirty Coward Mayor Edgar gets his comeuppance, he pisses himself.
  • As horrifying as Alcedor's and Cervul's fates in the Evil ending are, while the latter succumbs to his wounds, the credits scene of zombie Alcedor being chased by Upel's guards is quite amusing.
  • For some black comedy, how Remus deals with the wizard he captured. He tells Brutus to release him, where Brutus responds by using his Sword Plant Shockwave Stomp on the wizard's cage, destroying the cage and crushing the wizard to a paste. Remus responds with "How unfortunate." The fact that the assholes' actions are nothing but beneficial to you helps.
