Funny / I Married My Female Friend

Go To

  • In the flashback in the first chapter, Kurumi is utterly flabbergasted that Kuroda is not only married as of her Coming of Age Day ceremony, but is also pregnant.
  • After finishing her training in Paris, Ruriko wastes no time coming to Kurumi with a marriage registration form. Kurumi imagines Ruriko going into City Hall, with her suitcase, and demanding a marriage registration form, then breaks out laughing while Kurumi looks on, puzzled.
  • In Chapter 2, after Ruriko explains to her coworker Nomura about how Kurumi is more of a night owl given her schedule, Nomura asks, "Aizawa, did you marry a damn hamster?" Kurumi thinks of a hamster, and finding the idea cute, says, "You know, I may have," before changing her mind after realizing that hamsters do not live very long.
  • In Chapter 4, Kuroda reads some hate comments about Kurumi and Ruriko's marriage, which harshly criticize the former and express pity for the latter and ends up feeling bad for Ruriko. Ruriko politely says she's the only one who gets to decide whether she's pitiful and even laughs off the comments, while Kurumi gets annoyed at how Kuroda is more worried about Ruriko than about her, and how Kuroda refused her autograph on the basis that she wouldn't be able to sell it for anything.
Kuroda: Okay, what? Am I the crazy one here?
  • In Chapter 5, after Ruriko tells Nomura about how Kurumi feels the need to "fly the coop" when Kurumi is stressed, Nomura asks if Kurumi is a bird.
  • In Chapter 21, Kurumi reveals why she was a bit uncomfortable with Rio showing up- Ruriko addressed Rio without honorifics despite using "-san" on Kurumi. Kurumi tries to get Ruriko to call her by name without honorifics, and Ruriko gives it her best shot... but adds the "-san" at the last minute, prompting Kurumi to say, "So close!" Kurumi then slaps Ruriko on the back, finding the whole thing fun, resulting in Ruriko getting annoyed.
  • Chapter 27 opens with Kurumi asking for a hug. One would think it's from Ruriko, but it's actually Kuroda's child. She then asks for one from a rather annoyed Kuroda, leading to what could be described as a secret friend handshake.
Kurumi: That's more like it. When we hug, it's gotta be like that.
Kuroda: What other way could there be?
