After tying Cutter to a chair, Kendig calls Ross from a phone booth with an... interesting choice of vocal disguise.
Kendig: Joe Cutter is tied up! You'd better cut him loose! Ross: Who is this?! Kendig: This is Eleanor Roosevelt. [hangs up]
Kendig rents Myerson's summer house to write his memoirs in. Then once he's finished, calls Isobel and deliberately loses a Phone-Trace Race so that Myerson will send the FBI after him. And then uses a string of firecrackers to get the FBI to demolish the house while he escapes.
