- Episode 9 deals with kappas that steal the energy of people via their butts. When Kitaro enters the scene with heroic music blaring, he proceeds to give a heroic speech... that is quickly stopped when a kappa takes his energy. Kitaro proceeds to fall to the ground with his butt rising in the air as the heroic music dies.Daddy Eyeball: Hey Kitaro! Get a grip!Kitaro: (With a dumb smile on his face) Dad... I don't feel like doing this anymore.
- The Monster of the Week in episode 16 is a horde of Funa-Yurei, ghosts of drowned souls that attack people by demanding ladles, then using them to fill the boat with water and sink it. Kitaro gets around that by giving them a ladle with a hole in it and watches them try in vain to scoop water with it.
- Kitaro's Paper-Thin Disguise in Episode 19 fools all Yokai aside from Daddy Eyeball, while Mana is bemused when Neko-Musume compliments Kitaro on his disguise.
- In Episode 39, Kitaro is ordered by his father to play a Dating Sim, to learn how to romance girls. He plays the game all night, and when he is called by a crow to stop Numa-Gozen from eating Shun, a teen who is having troubles with his girlfriend Yuki, he is so sleep deprived that he hallucinates that he's still playing the dating sim and tries to flirt with Numa-Gozen. The best part? It actually works and Numa-Gozen is so love struck that she faints.
- Episode 58 has Kitaro turned into Kamaboko (Long story), Medama-Oyaji quickly ask the others to buy all the pieces quickly only for the price to be extremely high... and then Sunakake-Babaa reveals that she is loaded.Sunakake-Babaa: Stocks, Real Estate, Chobitcoins, Tax havens... Asset management is basic knowledge for modern elders.Konaki-Jijii: C-could you teach me some time?!
- Then when it's revealed that the price to restore Kitaro to normal is 100 million yen, Kitaro moans that not even the Sunakake-Babaa has that much money, only for it to be revealed that yes she does, with everyone doing a Double Take.
