Nagisa attempts to show Mepple to Ryouta, but he hides, and Ryouta simply thinks his sister is crazy. She trips him on his way out, and he goes tattling to their mom. The English dub has Ryouta/Ryan dramatically cry about how mean Nagisa/Natalie is to him, to which Natalie responds "I'm your big sister, it's my job!"
At least one Spanish fan-sub has Nagisa call Ryouta a "little bastard" during this scene.
Mepple's insistence on Nagisa following a strict path involves her trespassing through an old woman's yard. The woman watches incredulously as Mepple loudly yells his introduction as Nagisa.
