This film might be Darker and Edgier, but it's still an Evil Dead movie. And this one adds even more Black Comedy than the 2013 film.
- Beth teases her sister's unfinished personal dye job (where she has her dye-stained towel wrapped around her hair).Ellie: Have you been sleeping? You look like Mom.Beth': ...Better than looking like a tampon.
- Deadite Ellie bites out Gabriel's eye and spits it out, Evil Dead 2 style, into Jake's mouth. There's even a bell ringing sound effect to top it off.
- How does Deadite Ellie get back into the apartment? She hears Mr. Fonda's cat meowing in the airduct above her. Her perpetual grin would make Jim Carrey blush and you can just see her thinking "now there's an idea!" Cut to the cat wisely making a run for it.
- Deadite Ellie uses one of her long fingernails as a turntable stylus and the recording plays through her as she stands with her mouth agape. It's a sight as ridiculous as it is bone-chillingly creepy.
- Beth realises that Deadite Ellie has snuck up behind her and jabs a screwdriver into her neck. Deadite Ellie just smiles pleasantly at Beth before we Smash Cut to her being thrown through a set of glass doors.
- There are many, many shots of the elevator opening and closing, setting an uneasy air over any scene in the hall. Everyone assumes this is the Deadites messing with tech so they don't go near it. When we do go in we find... Ellie's dropped keys which kept the door from closing.
- On the recording, one man in a crowd yells at the priest that reading from the book is a really bad idea. If you listen closely, you'll realize that the voice is Bruce Campbell's. And according to Word of God, yep, that's Ash. And the recording was made in 1923. Our groovy boy's managed to get himself thrown back in time yet again!
- Again, there's the possibility that his time travel from 1300 AD dropped him off in 1923, where he had to fend off some more Deadites before he could swallow another drop of potion to get back to his old job at S-mart.
