Equestria Girls/Spider-Man Book 1: Amazing (Pre-Reboot)

• After taking down some criminals and stopping the truck that the last one was driving, the driver gets out of the truck and pulls out his gun, only for Spider-Man to immediately yank it out of his hands with some webs. The criminal then pulls out a small knife, only for the same thing to happen again.
  Spider-Man: Really?
• The way Pinkie Pie refers to Ultron, a psychotic killer robot that almost killed the Avengers and almost destroyed the world, as a "wannabe Terminator".
• Thorax still hasn't come up with a codename for himself, leading to Flash calling him "Big T" to his annoyance.
  • When they work with Sci-Twi to stop Shocker, Thorax comes up with one quickly to avoid giving her his real name. He simply calls himself Codex. Sci-Twi just giggles and correctly guesses he just came up with it.
• The first flashback chapter has a few moments that show that Flash's usual humor as Spider-Man shine through during his narrations:
  • Flash still feels bad about what he said to Princess Twilight and all his friends while under the Siren's Hate Plague, and says if those three ever attract Spider-Man's attention he'll put so much web fluid in their hair they'll need to shave themselves bald to get it out.
  • The reason the spider bites Flash is because it was miffed at him for taking a photo of it with the flash on, temporarily blinding it.
  • Flash's narration describing when he got bit by the radioactive spider and yelling in pain is "his impression of the cat from Tom and Jerry.
    Flash: (narration) What was his name again? (Beat) Yeah, I'm just messing with you. I know his name is Tom. Who doesn't?
• When Flash first arrives at Sci-Twi's house, he is briefly attacked by Spike using a Nerf gun, thinking he is another guy trying to sell magazine subscriptions.
• Shining Armor and Cadance have a brief argument over whose hobby is more childish, Shining Armor's RPGs or Cadance's Disney Princess movies. Flash asks if they are always like this and is told only on Wednesdays. They are apparently worse on Fridays, which resulted in a lifetime ban from the Laser Tag arcade for them both.
• Pinkie can somehow sneak past Flash's spider-sense and surprise him.
• Everyone posts supportive comments for Spider-Man on the Spidey-Blog, but Lyra post a comment saying that Jameson's editorials are only good for toilet paper these days. Everyone else reacts to this comment with mixes of Squick.
  Sweetie Drops: -_- Really?
  Classical Octave: That is truly disgusting.
  Zen Wood: Gross!
  Wub Master: TMI. SERIOUS TMI!
  Chip Wizard: EW!
• During Spider-Man and Vulture's second fight, when Spidey manages to get on Vulture's flight harness. Right before he rips it open and removes the Chitauri energy core, we get this hilarious description:
  And it was that moment Adrien realized, he fucked up.
• Flash and Thorax are both terrified of what Sunset will do to them when they tell her how they told Sci-Twi about CHS's magic. When she grabs them by their collars Thorax begs her not to kill them, or at least kill Flash and spare him.
  • Before this though, Pinkie Pie (once again) correctly guesses everything they were going to tell them, making Thorax wonder if she tapped their phones and laptops.
• When Sci-Twi meets the Rainbooms there is a brief moment when she comments how she has heard Rainbow is "full of herself", leading to Flash and Thorax pointing out several blatant examples of this when Rainbow asks how she is full of herself. All Rainbow just has a Jaw Drop in response.
• The Rainbooms and Sci-Twi learn that Princess Twilight doesn't know who the Avengers are.
  Sci-Twi: So, you've never heard of Tony Stark, AKA Iron Man?
  Twilight: Nope.
  Sci-Twi: Captain America?
  Twilight: Can't say I have.
  Twilight: What about Thor? Hawkeye? Black Widow? The Hulk?
  Sci-Twi: No, no, no, and really? There's actually a superhero named that?
  • Sci-Twi decides to fix this and give Princess Twilight a quick history lesson on each member using her own personal notes and videos collected. Princess Twilight tries to ask for something to write with, only for Sci-Twi to give her a pen and notebook before she finishes her request, leading to Princess Twilight telling her "You're like the twin sister I never knew I wanted".
• Turns out Flash watches Dragon Ball Z Abridged and finds it very quotable.
• Sci-Twi needs to remove Flash's suit to inject him with the antidote to Scorpion's venom. She blushes like crazy when she needs to explain this to him. When Thorax teases her over how she suddenly is blushing over him now that he is awake, she quickly shuts him up with a Death Glare.
• Pinkie Pie once again sneaks up on Flash without triggering his Spider-Sense. She asks him to deliver an invitation to Spider-Man for the 'Thank You, Spider-Man' Party she is throwing him. After Flash agrees to deliver it Pinkie disappears before he even has time to blink.
  Flash: Huh? What? How? Why? I HAVE SO MANY QUESTIONS!
• Rainbow says that once when she was in Middle School, her parents came to one of her soccer games and shot off rainbow colored fireworks when she scored a goal. This resulted in them getting banned from school grounds for the rest of the season. They still managed to come to all of Rainbow's games though by watching from outside the fences and watched with a pair of binoculars.
• Sunset sets up Flash and Sci-Twi on their first date by tricking them into admitting they have no plans for the night, while she is busy and can't join them. She rushes out of the room telling them to have fun on their date before they realize what happened. Flash eventually breaks the silence, shouting "Goddammit Sunset!" at her.
• After rushing out of the room, Sunset is joined by the rest of the Rainbooms and they all eavesdrop on Flash and Sci-Twi's conversation.
  • Fluttershy whispers a Rapid-Fire "No!" when it seems they won't go out at first, and when the others stare at her she just says they all know the two of them are perfect for each other.
  • Sci-Twi reveals she likes Godzilla, and wants to see his new movie. When she asks Flash if he thought she was a girl who liked cheesy romance movies he just says no since her name isn't "Rarity Belle". The others need to cover their mouths to stop from laughing out loud, much to Rarity's annoyance.
  • After making plans for their date together, Flash reveals he knew their friends were eavesdropping the entire time and tells them through the closed door he could hear their breathing. Sci-Twi however is enraged that they were listening to their private conversation like a soap opera, and grabs a cast iron skillet while saying she is going to "teach them a lesson", and proceeds to chase them all around the F.E.A.S.T. shelter for an hour, while Flash and Thorax laugh at the sight and Aunt May just rolls her eyes.
    May: Kids today.
• Shining Armor subjects Flash to the usual "over-protective big brother" act most would expect him to, complete with an Implied Death Threat about how his body will never be found. But unlike most examples Flash isn't intimidated by Shining Armor at all, since Flash is obviously stronger than Shining Armor due to being Spider-Man.
• When Flash drops Sci-Twi off at home after a successful first date and she surprises him with a kiss, Shining Armor ends up purposely ruining their moment by interrupting them before they can share a second kiss, much to Sci-Twi's annoyance. Though Twi still gives Flash a shorter kiss goodbye before going inside, and slugging her brother's arm as she passes him.
• There is something hilarious in the irony that the human version of Thorax, who in Equestria is a Changeling and thus needs love to survive, isn't interested in seeing Flash and Sci-Twi doing any mushy-gushy stuff around him, even if he is happy for the two of them.
• While investigating a lead on Dr. Connors, Flash and Sci-Twi start geeking out over Empire State University and just talking about their future majors and career goals.
  Thorax: Guys, focus. You can gush about science afterwards. Preferably when I have a doggie bag.
  Flash & Sci-Twi: (in union) Sorry.
• When Spider-Man chases The Lizard up the side of a building, he mention how first Scorpion was copying his wall-crawling and now Lizard too, saying he needs to get his wall-crawling trademarked.
• Thorax laughs at Sci-Twi's Affectionate Nickname for Flash, "Tiger", and questions her on it. She replies by simply punching him in the stomach and telling him to shut up.
• Aunt May questions Flash on his relationship with Sci-Twi while on their way to the F.E.A.S.T. shelter, like marriage and how cute their future kids will look, even though they just became an Official Couple two days ago.
• While Flash is talking with Sunset over the phone about explaining magic to Miles on his first day at CHS, Sunset eventually asks him how his date with Sci-Twi went. Flash just blows an air horn into the phone, scaring Sunset half to death, as payback for setting him and Twi up and then eavesdropping on them. He hangs up on her in the middle of her angry rant and expects he'll pay for it, but considers it was Worth It.
  • The next chapter has Sunset get back at Flash with help from the rest of the Rainbooms (except Fluttershy). As soon as he walks into the Music Room while giving Miles a tour he is assaulted by a series of air horns, a mountain of shiny glittery confetti falling on top of him from above, and a pie to the face. Turns out Pinkie's immunity to his spider-sense extends to her pranks.
• Sci-Twi reveals she has a bit of an evil side when she suggests to Flash that instead of getting the Rainbooms back all at once he should target them individually and let their panic and paranoia rise as he picks them off. It is both hilarious and impressive.
• The first Omake chapter is basically just Flash getting revenge on each of the Rainbooms, minus Fluttershy, in a series of hilarious and brilliant pranks.
• Flash decides to leave Fluttershy out of his revenge, since he knows she didn't participate in the first prank and if he did prank her and made her cry then her friends would all castrate him and he wanted to start a family someday. Applejack pretty much confirms this to be true when Flash explains why Fluttershy is safe from any of his pranks.
  Applejack: I'd probably stomp on your manhood so hard you wouldn't be able to have kids. (everyone looks at her with shocked faces) Did I say that out loud?
  Miles: Yes. Remind me never to make you angry.
• Right after Rainbow confidently declares she'd like to see Flash try anything when she is at practice, she suddenly gets a text from Flash and reads it against her friends warnings. It turns out to be Flash warning her not to tempt fate like that, and she understandably freaks out over this. All the girls quickly discover Vinyl Scratch, who admits Flash paid her fifty bucks to spy on them for him. When Rainbow screams into her phone at Flash that she's not scared of him, all her friends pretty much point out that she just screwed herself.
• When Kid Arachnid is fighting an Octo-Bot, trying to find a weakness it has, Karen points out the obvious weak point it has.
  Karen: Might I recommend you try firing an Electric Web into its ENORMOUS FRICKING EYE?!
• Miles is a bit worried that people are going to call him an embarrassing name like Black Spider-Man or Mini-Spider instead of his chosen name. Luckily he avoids this by leaving a Post-It note with his real hero name on it.
• Shining Armor ends the chapter with a bit of Dramatic Irony, saying that first he finds out he's going to be a father and now there is a second Spider-Man, he jokingly says next thing he knows the next surprise will probably be discovering his sister's principal is a supervillain.

Twilight Sparkle: The Amazing Spider-Girl (Post-Reboot)

• Sci-Twi ends up stepping on a LEGO piece from one of Spike's broken monster models. This was due to Flurry Heart throwing her bottle at it while he was working on it.
  • Spike actually guesses that Flurry is going to be a Tomboy when she grows up because of this, since she already has a killer throwing arm. Sci-Twi just warns him not to let Cadance hear that.
