• The subverted freeze-frame "Everybody Laughs" Ending is hilarious in its over-the-top-ness.
• Once Matt overcomes Wellesley, he cracks his knuckles and says, "It's time to get the 'Beat The Snot Out Of Wellesley' achievement!" There's an immediate fade to black, and a series of sound clips has one wondering just what Matt actually does to Wellesley. Followed by the system proceeding to give you the achievement/trophy called "Beat The Snot Out Of Wellesley," with the Flavor Text "Like I said...". Medium Awareness at its finest.
• The encounter with Altos Tratus, resident Eastern RPG expy. Aside from having to advance Altos' textual dialogue himself, Matt takes issue with the JRPG convention of dedicating a whole text box to Visible Silence, pleading for an explanation of why it happens so often. He naturally gets none.
