  • Surprisingly, there is one in the scene where the statue of the Commander shows up. When the Commander asks Giovanni if he will come and dine with him, Leporello gives us this line:
Leporello: Tell him you don't have time!
  • Earlier, when Giovanni orders Leporello to invite the statue to dinner, the invitation also gives quite a Mood Whiplash to the scene.
Leporello: O most gentle statue… Signor my master – listen close, not me! – wants to dine with you…
  • From Act I:
    Leporello: Is that you, master?
    Don Giovanni: It's me.
Leporello: Who died? You or the old man?
Don Giovanni: What a stupid question!
    *beat*
    Don Giovanni: The old man.
    • Note that there is many variations for how this joke is done. A production from 1999 had it done while Leporello was putting Giovanni's cloak on him.
