"I swear, it's not what it looks like."

  • Some of the onomatopoeia is ridiculous - the first examples that come to mind are 'DE-COAT!' and 'CONCUSSED!', the latter of which was used twice.
    • The Mood Whiplash on the second 'concussed'. Rupert has just been terrorizing Mr 16, his latest guinea pig, tries to drown him a little, and misses. Rupert shifts from screaming to a silent look of 'oops' in seconds.
  • Rupert, after knocking out Mr 16, becomes extremely defensive when he thinks the civillian is suggesting he did this on purpose.
    • The sight of the speech bubble pressed against the civillian's face!
  • The sheer amount of narm in Caligula's first appearance completely juxtaposes his threatening role. It's hard to fear him when he's gazing lovingly at the sky, preaching about how lovely Komodo is.
  • Ripley is full of puns from their first appearance. For example, this gem:
Mr 16: How do we know it's them? It could easily be imposters!
    Ripley: But that's imposterble!
  • Bunny repeatedly beeping the car's horn when offered the choice between going by car or by portal. The fact that she disappears mid-conversation just to start beeping makes it all the better.
  • Bunny filling her mouth with frozen peas for no reason other than to psych Ripley out. It comes out of nowhere and makes no sense.
  • Komodo, the tyrant who manipulated and maimed 5000 people, and Rupert, the lech who just killed two mutineers and kidnapped a third, are seen together for the first time. What happens? Komodo puts pins on Rupert's seat to assert his dominance.
  • The recurring joke that everyone can identify everyone else by their knocks.
  • Although Bunny's reaction to the apartment building exploding is scary when the pin drops, the time it takes for the pin to drop is a little hilarious.
    • Similarly, when Rupert, Caligula and Komodo are in the same room during Chapter 2, despite the scares created by the previous scenes and the three villains' presence, there's a hilarity in seeing big, arrogant Rupert get his power play turned upside down by Komodo.
  • Awesome as it may be, it's a little funny to see Bunny counter Caligula's 'I have my master's power' speech by saying 'Well I have a damned good throwing arm!' and lobbing a Repulsion Flea at his face, knocking him back out of the portal.
  • Chopper is probably the biggest pottymouth in the comic. And he's so small, and sad-looking, that it just makes it perfect, especially when Caligula confronts him on how he survived:
Chopper: FUCK YOU! The mattress broke my fall! I'm only sore and mildly concussed!
  • Two citizens discuss Caligula and Rupert, but suddenly break out into an argument over whether 'There's no Welsh between them' is a saying or not. Although it soon veers into bizzare seriousness again, the conviction of the messenger and the flat confusion of their companion is gold.
  • A citizen completely fails to recognise Bunny - a well-known, highly dangerous criminal - and treats her like just another prisoner. They just scold her as she slams into the door, even telling her to 'put that thing away' when she tries to grab at them through the slot of her cell door.
  • Bunny manages to get Chopper to reconise her... by wiggling her fingers like bunny ears behind her head. He catches on immediately.
    • When he asks her how he escaped, her response is to slowly put her hand on his face instead of answering.
  • Bunny and Chopper's ventriloquism gambit to avoid being captured. Chopper acts as Bunny's voice as they navigate the tower, and they aren't completely synchronised, and Chopper isn't entirely familiar with the tower's layout...
  • After escaping Caligula's grasp, Chopper contemplates how Caligula got those scratches on his back. His deep thought is interrupted by an abrupt string of curses as Caligula recovers and gives chase again.
