Funny / Batman: Earth One

Go To

  • The series begins like a typical Batman story. A terrified criminal flees through the rooftops. We all know who it is. The masked vigilante who strikes fear into the hearts of criminals! BATMAN! Batman leaps across the building at the criminal and you practically hear the music swell triumphantly as he bears down on the culprit! He botches the landing and falls several stories before landing in a pile of trash.
    Batman: Ow.
  • The Wayne Enterprise's R&D Department's increasingly exasperated reactions to discovering that yet again, having requested incredibly advanced equipment (spelunking, body armour, a car) at short notice, Bruce Wayne now all of a sudden no longer wants it. These prototypes now have to be sold to a mysterious third party. Wayne actually has to resort to heavy incentives, including raises and trust funds for their children, just to stop them from quitting development of his Bat gadgets.
  • Gordon's incredulous reaction to the Bat Signal (here a mobile phone with one button and a Bat logo).
Gordon: Christ. He actually put a bat on it.
  • Killer Croc, of all people, has to ask Batman a simple question.
Waylon: What the hell are you wearing?
  • While investigating a crime scene, Gordon is conversing with Batman and turns to face him only to find him gone in a classic case of the iconic Stealth Hi/Bye... only for Batman to call out "Over here" revealing he just moved off to the side and thanks Gordon for his help as he leaves with Gordon awkwardly saying you're welcome".
  • For once, we see the reactions of the other people working on Batman's gadgets besides Lucius Fox. And they are not happy with the news that Bruce Wayne doesn't want their prototype Batmobile anymore. Specifically, one guy is left scratching his head in confusion, another has his face firmly pressed against a desk, and yet another is angrily kicking around a box of parts.
    • And before that, they were already working on "spelunking equipment" when Bruce's order for a "race car" comes in via Lucius.
