Funny / Barbie in the Nutcracker

Go To

  • Plenty of Major Mint and Captain Candy's interactions/arguments.
  • When the Nutcracker is returned to his human form as Prince Eric, Major Mint is initially delighted- but then he remembers all the nasty comments he'd made about the prince and the Nutcracker both over the course of the story.
  • Immediately after Clara is shrunk, the Nutcracker instructs her to climb to safety. Clara begins to refuse...and then realizes how many mice there are.
Nutcracker: Can you get up to the mantel?
Clara: There is no way... (Beat) ...I'm staying down here!
  • After Clara and the Nutcracker fall through a portal into a snow-filled cave, Clara offers to retrieve the Nutcracker's dropped sword. She pulls the sword out of the snow...and realizes that his hand has detached and is clinging to the hilt.
Clara: Here, let me give you a hand.
Nutcracker (sheepishly): That happens a lot.
  • While investigating a destroyed village, Clara and Nutcracker are ambushed. After scrambling for cover, they relax when they realize their assailants are just children armed with snowballs. Cue one of the kids landing a hit that knocks the Nutcracker's hat off, prompting them both to duck back down.
  • Both the snow fairies and the flower fairies seem to enjoy pushing Clara and the Nutcracker together. Their increasingly flustered reactions are both amusing and adorable.
  • The Mouse King, after chasing the Nutcracker all over the Clara's parlor and giving him a run for his money in a swordfight, gets knocked out by a thrown shoe. The rest of the mice are cowed enough by this to slink away, dragging the king's unconscious body behind them. Also doubles as a moment of Awesome for Clara.
  • Grandfather Drosselmeyer's grumbling about the familiarity Eric shows when he's "introduced" to Clara at the end of the movie. The display of familiarity in question? Eric kisses Clara's hand.
  • Clara and the Nutcracker are searching for supplies in a newly revitalized apple orchard. As they pass under a tree, a good half-dozen apples fall on top of Nutcracker. His reaction? "Supplies!"
  • Despite having one arm in a makeshift sling, the Nutcracker's reaction to the Mouse King's army trashing Clara's parlor is to draw his sword and charge. His exaggerated movements and the delivery of his battle cry just sell it.
    Nutcracker: Insolent mice!
  • During the Dance Party Ending, Major Mint and Captain Candy get a little too enthusiastic and wind up tripping over each other.
  • When Pim mentions that Clara is in Parthenia, the Mouse King massages his bandaged head and then yelps in pain. Clearly that shoe to the head still smarts.
Pim: ...and he's got some girl with him. Don't know where she came from.
Mouse King: I do. (He rubs his head, then winces in pain.)
  • "You want me to babysit a rock?"
    • Followed by Pim's response once the king gives him a Death Glare whilst holding his magic sceptre.
Pim: Alright, alright! (undertone) Better than being a rock.
    • The king describes the rock giant as 'a bit rough around the edges' and in need of 'some guidance,' as if he's a cadet going on his first mission, and sends Pim to watch over him, which leads to the babysitting comment.
  • Major Mint's furious rant to the rock giant when he destroys their boat, and Captain Candy's subsequent annoyance that Mint just blew their cover.
Major Mint: I worked on that sail a good half hour, you cheeky blighter!
Captain Candy: (groans with annoyance) Why don't you go invite him for tea and cakes while you're at it?!
  • Pimm having to point out to the rock giant which one is Nutcracker.
Pimm: Right there! I'm blind as a bat and even I can see him!
