The film:

  • Randy receives a golden ping-pong paddle inviting him to the tournament. The directions to the location are in the form of a riddle, which he quickly solves, explaining what every line and metaphor means.
    Maggie: That's very impressive!
Randy: Yeah, well... it's written on the back in English. See?
  • The blind gags are one thing, but then we get to the one where Wong and Feng finally meet "face to face" after all those years... and Wong is facing the wrong way. Feng briefly considers looking off to an odd angle while conversing with him, like he's suddenly got some new protocol to figure out, before Ernie helps Wong out.
  • When the FBI cavalry arrives, one starts using a battering ram on the heavy door, until he realizes his sergeant is yelling at him. The sergeant just smashes the glass panel next to the door.
  • When Eddie runs in with a coat stand to help after Maggie singlehandedly beats down Eddie and his gang, Maggie pulls the stand from his hand and slowly approaches him, spinning it in front of her like a fan as Eddie retreats, screaming like a girl until she pins him to the wall.
  • During Wong's training, he takes a cricket out. Thinking it's a When You Snatch the Pebble bit of training, Randy snatches it from his hand, only for Wong to angrily ask him why he thought he was supposed to take it and demands it back, saying it's his lucky cricket. Randy sheepishly wipes the now crushed cricket on a placemat, folding it over and vehemently denying squishing the cricket to Wong.
  • Wong's training takes Randy into a meat locker, where Wong brings out a buzzing box. Randy thinks it's ridiculous that he has to hit flies. Wong shows he has the Wrong Genre Savvy as he says "Not flies. You hit bees," dropping the box and running out of the room, locking Randy inside with the enraged insects.
  • Wong's shop is broken into and trashed by a gang, with a sign left behind stating that training outsiders is forbidden. When Ernie says they'll find out who did it, Wong says they know who did it, pointing at the wall, where "Eddie did this" is written in Chinese.
  • When Randy prepares to face off against the Dragon, he awkwardly stands near Maggie, looking like he's between trying a hug or a handshake. He settles on a clap on the shoulder to her, which she reacts to by rubbing her shoulder in pain after he walks away.
  • When Randy enters the underground ping pong arena, he is demanded to put his money where his mouth is, with Eddie slamming down five dollars, demanding Randy pay four dollars, then politely asking if Randy has change for a five, because a five-dollar bill is all Eddie has.
  • The entire match with the Dragon.
    • The Dragon is revealed to be not a huge tattooed man as Randy believes, but a little girl with pigtails, skirt and a Dora the Explorer shirt, putting her Barbie backpack away in a cubby before she faces Randy.
    • Her speaking in Chinese and Eddie translating it for Randy, telling him about her impossible to stop serve, which Randy promptly deflects.
    • When she's defeated, Randy trash talks a bit and she starts crying. Randy apologizes and tells her she's very talented before she punches him in the groin and runs away.
    • With Randy on the floor, Eddie and his gang surround Randy and it appears it's about to be a fight... and then the group begins cheering for Randy. It appears to be a Defeat Means Friendship moment with Eddie and his gang as they carry Randy on their shoulders, cheering... only to toss him directly into a dumpster outside. Made even better by how they all are cheering until he's in the dumpster, then they immediately go silent and stoic again, heading back inside.
    • Eddie stops to give Randy his money as he's in the dumpster, then blows his nose on it, saying it's unfortunately covered in snot before he tosses it at Randy.
  • The Mysterious Asian Man appears to grant Randy the Golden Paddle after his defeat of the Dragon, with rising music as he walks away... then he comes back and the music stops as he asks Maggie which way the freeway is, since he'd gotten turned around. She gives him directions and he adds "I knew that," before walking away again.
  • The introduction of Feng is as the man who "Sold the dragon his fire, stole it back and sold it again to the Crips."
  • Randy decides I Choose to Stay when it comes to fighting Wolfstagg despite initially tries to get Ernie to get him out. Ernie stuffs a toilet paper roll into his mouth and breaks his arm before he can tell him
    • Following this, Feng makes it clear the Tournament will continue as planned and hopes Randy is a good southpaw, making Mahogany laugh out loud... then go immediately stern again.
  • During the Darkest Hour, with Karl breaking Maggie's father's paddle, Wong wipes the paddle on his butt and says Randy must fight for this man, pointing to Ernie. Ernie corrects him, pointing him to Randy.
  • Randy pulls out a disc player and blares Def Leppard's "Rock of Ages" and starts rocking out to it to get into the groove before facing Wolfstagg. Wong, Mahogany and even the other weapon dealers at the Tournament begin to rock along to the music and mouth to the lyrics until Feng pulls a gun and shoots the disc player.
    • With Feng putting Randy against Maggie, replacing Karl, Wolfstagg begins to angrily complain about the outrage until Mahogany hits him in the throat with a blowdart. Cue Major Injury Underreaction from Karl as he touches the blowdart and says "Oh, blowdart, ja? Super.", as if someone had spilled coffee on his pants. Then he keels over dead.
    • The whole audience applauds after he dies, compared to the dead silence most of the other blowdart deaths were met with.
  • With Maggie and Randy having to face each other to the death, with Maggie refusing to pick up her paddle, Randy begins to bounce balls off Maggie's body to make himself lose, while she complains she's trying to sacrifice her life for their love and "Don't be such a dick!"
    • Randy tells her he loves her... while at the same time bouncing ping pong balls off her face.
    • Even funnier is she seems touched by this, as ping pong balls bounce off her forehead.
  • Mahogany tries to kill Randy on Feng's orders during the match, only for Maggie to throw her paddle to him, allowing him to catch the dart before throwing it back at Mahogany, sticking the paddle (and the dart )to her head. Mahogany mutters "Oh, Crap!" before falling dead.
  • Ernie grabs an Uzi and begins shooting to give the group an opening to escape. Feng complains that the ornamentation being shot aren't replicas... well, some of them are. "They're limited edition replicas!"
  • Feng telling off Randy for wanting revenge for his father's death. "You people sound like a broken record. "You killed my so-and-so and you murdered whatshisface. I demand Blah, Blah, Blah. GET OVER IT!"
  • The Dragon returns to give a plant to Randy after the new ping pong school opens, with Eddie translating that she hopes the friendship between them lasts a thousand years... or until the lease runs out. Randy begins to say they've all learned lessons... until the Dragon gives him a kick in the balls and runs away, yelling something at him. Eddie translates it as "This is not over yet, Whitey!"
