  • In "Babar's Triumph", Babar has a meeting with Rataxes about the Hunter:
    • The animals running wild:
Lord Rataxes: What do you mean, I'm sticking my horn in where it doesn't belong? I'll say what I want to say about your stripes, your antlers and your neck.
    • Babar settling the animals down
Young Babar: HOLD IT (Therefore he didn't notice he sat on a chameleon by accident) Whoops.
  • This scene from "Alexander the Great", when Cornelius and Pompadour send the fireman for help, he thought about the fire when they meant the children have been swept on an airplane.
    Fireman: Okay, where's the fire?
Cornelius: There's no fire, it's more serious than that.
    Pompadour: It's the children.
Pompadour: The children have been swept away on an ancient airplane.
Cornelius: You have to save them!
  • In "To Tell or Not to Tell?", Babar helps Celeste with the spring cleaning and finds an old national anthem for Celesteville he once wrote.
Babar: Oh Celesteville, the home of elephants. Trunks, Tusks, and Grey, the place for me to stay. HEY! HEY! HEY!
Celeste: Tusks, Trunks, and Grey? Oh, Babar.
    • Later on, when Pom and Alexander were told about playing ball in the palace.
Alexander: Hey, Dad. (sees Babar wearing an old trunk warmer) You going to a costume party or something?
Babar: No, Alexander. I am not. And how many times have I told you not to play ball in the palace?
    Alexander: 3, maybe 6, 105.
Pom: Sorry, father. It sort of got away on us. It won't happen again.
Babar: And I won't see it inside again, will I?
    Pom and Alexander: No, Sir.
Alexander: (as he and Pom sneak off) Have fun at your costume party, Dad.
Babar: I'm not going to a costume party! I am helping your mother with the spring cleaning.
  • From "Race to the Moon":
Young Babar: It doesn’t look so bad. A little paint here and there, and it will be good as new. (door falls behind him)
    • Babar's discussion about the theater:
Handyman: After an extensive examination of the sub and superstructures, coupled with a comprehensive analysis of the existing load-bearing beams, it is my professional recommendation that the façade, in question, be remaindered and redefined.
    Young Babar: ...and in English?
Handyman: We tear it down and turn it into a Bistro!
    Young Babar: Tear it down?!
Handyman: McBabar’s. A restaurant fit for a king. Could be very popular someday!
Young Babar: That’s a nice idea Handyman, but I think we’ll just repair the playhouse.
Handyman: Have it your way. But it’ll cost extra.
    • When Cornelius and Pompadour ask how much extra repairing the playhouse will cost, the Handyman hands Babar the paper with the cost (which we can’t see) on it.
Young Babar: Woah! That’s a lot of zeroes...
  • A rare moment of levity in "My Dinner With Rataxes" has Rataxes accidentally let slip that he had the various tunnels they are exploring constructed as part of a plan to launch a surprise invasion on Celestville. He tries to cover by claiming they were aimed at a different nation instead, but Babar brusquely cuts him off and informs Rataxes that he knew about the tunnels and why they were made all along (to the shock of both Rataxes and Basil). He never did anything about them because he trusted the rhino army would be too incompetent to actually do anything with them.
  • "Rhino War" has several notably funny moments.
    • When General Pameer tries to coax Rataxes into signing off on a declaration of war by accusing Babar of smuggling weapons through their territory in order to launch a surprise attack on Rhinoland. Without even looking up, Rataxes shoots him down by declaring the idea of Babar of all people doing such a thing is ridiculous.
    • After learning that General Pameer tricked him into declaring war on Celestville, a dismayed Rataxes vents to one of his guards, who suggests that they just let Babar solve all their problems for them. When Rataxes asks if the guard's sure that plan will work, the guard replies tht it always has before.
    • Assuaged by the discussion, Rataxes finally calms down... until he learns that Babar has just been imprisoned in his dungeon, whereupon he goes charging down to set his ostensible enemy free.
    • The climax of the episode: Babar and Rataxes working together to fight off General Pameer's army with all the carnival supplies that the General Ripper used as an excuse to launch the war in the first place. Yes, this means Rataxes voluntarily beats up his own soldiers... and seems to have the time of his life doing so!
    • General Pameer's ultimate punishment for causing a war under false pretenses? Rataxes fires him, then he's forced to join the Celestville Carnival as the target in a ringtoss game!
  • In "King Tuttle's Vote", Pompadour tries to convince Celeste in returning to the anti-pollution project, but she keeps refusing due to his constant criticisms of her nonformal tactics. While Babar explains Pompadour handling the situation with "grace, poise, and dignity", Pompadour actually does the exact opposite of that.
