    AniMat's Reviews (Regular and Classic)
  • In his Winnie the Pooh review, he starts his discussion of the songs in the movie by saying "I want you guys to keep in mind that the songs are from the people that brought us classic children's songs like..." and then plays a clip of "The Internet Is For Porn".
  • He starts his review of Brave by speaking in a ridiculous Scottish accent, seeing as the film is set in Scotland. Before going into the actual review, he says (in his normal voice) "And don't worry, people. I'm not going to do that Scottish accent during the entire review."
  • The way he opens his review of Planes: He starts to explain that the film was originally going to be straight to DVD, but when Disney saw a few complete parts "they decided it was actually good enough to be released in theaters because of its great quality," breaking into an uncontrollable fit of laughter on the last word, then admits he can't say that with a straight face because "we ALL know why they made that shift," and then plays a clip of The Money Song.
  • His entire review of Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2:
    • The sheer speed and abruptness with which he gives the film a Seal of Garbage, then cutting to him in person for the rest of the review.
    • AniMat comparing Flint Lockwood’s character design to Dolan and Gooby, and to dead insects.
    • “It’s Chester V! Yes, Chester V, the man with no bones!”
    • The ending, in which AniMat wonders if the film could get any worse... only for the Harlem Shake video made for the film to play, causing Ani Mat to leave in anger.
  • In the Walking with Dinosaurs review, he said that he thought that the film was going to have no voice-overs to the dinosaurs except the narrator. But when it was close to completion, the film was screened to possibly the dumbest executives and said:
Gahh, why the dino-ma-saurs not talking? I-I saw them talking in Land Before Time 27, a-and if they don't talk, that'll just confuse the kiddies and their moneyz. Ooh! and while we're at it, can we get Sid from Ice Age and and Alvin from Alvin and the Chipmunks for the voices? Yeah, that'll bring in the moneyz.
  • The Entire Review of Norm of the North is absolutely hilarious to see Mat ripping apart the film, one by one. Including:
  • The use of Filthy Frank in his review of Ice Age: Collision Course.
  • The first 30 seconds of his Animal Farm (1954) review.
  • During his review of Tentacolino:
Grandpa Conner: Did I ever tell you that I was on the Titanic when I was a young lad?
    Grandson Mouse: Really, Grandpa?
Grandpa Conner: Oh, yes. I remember that when the ship sank, everyone was saved by whales and a giant octopus.
    Grandson Mouse: Wait, what?
Grandpa Conner: Then three years later, I sank at the bottom of the ocean for an excursion to look for it, but then I ended up in Atlantis.
    Grandson Mouse: Uh...
Grandpa Conner: That's where the king and his toys asked me to be his royal spies, to stop the evil rats and sharks from stealing the elixir of life for world domination.
Granny Estella: Honey, you're scaring the children.
Grandpa Conner: Now the two humans I was with are going to live forever on their own private island, and have the Titanic all on their own.
Grandson Mouse: Grandpa, I don't think the newspaper would say any of that...
Grandpa Conner: THE MAINSTREAM MEDIA HAS NOTHING BUT MISUNDERSTANDINGS FABRICATED BY THE SJWS! PRAISE THE PHILOSOPHIES OF KANYE WEST!
  • Early on in his review of A Goofy Movie he had this to say about Max’s nightmare in which he turns into his father like a werewolf.
Animat: You know as much as this scared me as a kid I don’t think I can really comment because that was exactly how I went through puberty. In fact the process was so traumatizing for my body my voice decided to skip the process. As you can probably hear.

    Lists
  • His list of "Top Ten Scariest Disney Moments" includes the moment from the Mickey and the Beanstalk segment of Fun and Fancy Free where Donald Duck goes Ax-Crazy. He considers such a thing too cruel to unleash on anybody (especially the poor cow that Donald was going to butcher with said ax)... and then the cast from High School Musical start to sing, which he responds to by sicking Donald on them and allowing the High-Pressure Blood from the resulting Gory Discretion Shot to splatter him with glee.
    • From the same video, he states that Pleasure Island from Pinocchio is pretty cool for little shits like the boys brought to the island, but he feels it's missing one thing: hookers!
Animat: [In a carnival barker-like voice] Hurry, hurry, hurry! Get your free hooker here, absolutely free! Have the night of your life! This ain't called "Pleasure Island" for nothing, ya know! Hurry, hurry, hurry!
  • The first 32 seconds of his Top 5 Best and Worst Animated Films of 2016 where it starts with sports footage until at 17 seconds in, a montage of terrible things that happened in 2016 started to show in with heavy metal music.
  • The dynamite detanator gag from Top Ten Biggest Animated Box Office Bombs! Oh, Matt sure had a blast with that one! Especially when he references The Muppets when blowing up Penguins of Madagascar and blowing up everything from Mars Needs Moms, its company and cancelled projects, a lot of Disney's funds, motion capture films, and the entire list out of existence!
    Matt: DID SOMEBODY SAY KABOOM?!!
    • He also freaks out when seeing the notoriously terrifying puppet scene from Legends of Oz: Dorothy's Return. After reliving that nightmare for a few seconds, he remembers that he can blow that up with his box.
  • During the Top 5 Best and Worst Animated Films of 2023, when talking about Ruby Gillman, Teenage Kraken, he notes how the human characters were so designed so uncannily that they were more terrifying than any sea monster could have been.

    Special Reviews (Patreon or Not)
  • The parody of One Little Spark that concludes his Escape from Tomorrow review, especially when A Wild Rapper Appears!, or rather, has been there all along. Doubles as a Moment of Awesome in that he manages to successfully decry the points made by the film and at the same time show us much better series and films recorded at a Disney park.
  • During the video focusing on Bob Chapek's history as Disney's CEO, statements said by him and his predecessor/successor, Bob Iger, were dubbed by other people. While the voice used for Iger matched him well, the nasally and wimpy voice used for Chapek is obviously meant to make fun of his poor leadership.

    Animation Lookback
  • In Part 1 of Animation Lookback: The Best of Stop-Motion, he freaks out over the footage of the 1980s Stop-Motion Alice film.
    • In Part 2, The History of Ray Harryhausen 1/2, he acts like an ape.
    • "GET THAT SHIP OUTTA HERE! You're in the wrong century!"
  • In Part 2 of Animation Lookback: Studio Ghibli he mentioned Pom Poko in which that the Tanukis had to defend the forest using their magical testicles.
    • AniMat's Reaction is even funnier, especially with the quote from Escape from Tomorrow, "giant testicle" during the scene.
  • Given the subject matter, his Animation Lookback on Looney Tunes is bound for a few laughs.
    • For starters, it begins as a homage to The Bugs Bunny & Road Runner Movie, which showcased the best of Chuck Jones' work.
    • When Mat mentions how Rudolf Ising, Hugh Hartman and Friz Freleng were taken from Walt when Universal fired him from Oswald, it soon turns into how Charles Lantz later took over. A sign then appears saying "Well, that new management didn't take long!"
    • When talking about the Buddy cartoons, Mat mentions how that was the period they pretty much became diet Disney.
    Cookie: Yoohoo Buddy, I'm ready!
Buddy: I'll be right over Cookie.
Mat: Yeah as you can tell, this was during that awkward period where they were in the category of Disney wannabes.
  • In part three of his Animation Lookback: Cartoon Network series, he gets interrupted by booing whenever he tries to talk about Teen Titans Go! until he's finally fed up with it.
"ENOOOOOOOOUGH!! (Pants) Now, I understand there's a lot of people out there that hate [the show], and that, yes, it is sub-par to the 2003 series, BUT FOR GOD'S SAKES, IS IT THAT HARD TO ASK TO DO MY JOB WITHOUT GETTING CONSTANTLY INTURRUPTED BY FANBOY RAGE THAT REFUSES TO LISTEN TO THE FACTS!? I MEAN, SERIOUSLY! You know, this is exactly why I prefer talking about animated features, because at least I don't have to get bombarded with this crap all the time! God! You know, it's kind of funny: people say I'm the weird one for the whole Sony thing, you know?"
  • In his redone Disney lookback, he brings up the sheer number of Dwarf names that were rejected in rapid succession. What sells this is when he takes an anxious-sounding deep breath just before he names them, the rapid-fire concept art in the background, and his sheer exasperation at “Biggo-Beego”.
    • Walt’s horrified reactions to the frightening 1939 Leica reel for Alice in Wonderland.
    • Pinocchio’s Slasher Smile as he suddenly smashes Jimminy Cricket with a hammer. It’s so unexpected that it’s darkly comedic.
    • The brawl that breaks out during the animator strike in the second part, complete with hilarious sound effects. Even Walt himself joins in the tussle!
      • Walt is later attacked by the Amazon Brigade of the Ink and Paint Department when he introduced Xeroxography.
      • The various Super Smash Bros. references, with various Disney characters shown on the winning screen.
      • Wally Boag’s appearance, with hilariously beady eyes and laughing madly, and he even ties up his captor in a straight jacket at one point.
    • King Triton blurting out “Snooping as usual, I see?” out of nowhere.
    • Bandit Keith of all people making a cameo.
    • The montage of horror movies followed by a clip of Bambi.

    AniMat's Crazy Cartoon Cast
  • The parody of the Barney & Friends theme song before the first story (about Daniel Kaluuya making a Barney movie) that AniMat performs to introduce it in "Barney's Big Blockbuster".
  • "Wild Knuckles Is In Jail" had several hilarious moments during the final segment, which talked about the alternate ending to the Chinese dub of Minions: The Rise of Gru.
    • After AniMat reads "And his biggest accomplishment is being the father of his three girls" from the description of the revised ending, one of the guest stars asks "When he was a kid?".
    • When describing an alternate ending of Fight Club from a foreign version of the film, AniMat comments "Don't worry, the police managed to catch the criminal on time! There is no explosion, it's all good!"
    • One of the special guests says that the ending is like Bart Simpson hacking the projector booth and putting in a text caption.
    • When AniMat says that the ending is like China hating Wild Knuckles, one of the guests says "An escaped convict...that doesn't sit well for a family movie. Shoot for the moon, kid! Jail!" before singing "He's Back" by Alice Cooper.
    • The "Wild Knuckles died on his way to his home planet" joke following a comparison to a scene in The Simpsons episode "The Itchy and Scratchy and Poochie Show".
    • When one of the guest stars said he didn't know that China was offended by seeing a casket filled with bananas, he holds a banana up, makes a joke about it, and then the Grand Finale siren plays, which the boys joke is the police coming after them.

    AniMat Watches
  • "Too Smart For Strangers":
    • When Pooh sings "Too smart for strangers, like me, Winnie the Pooh!", AniMat asks Pooh if he's comparing himself to a stranger.
    • AniMat believes the person in the Roo costume is someone who doesn't quite act like the character, prefering smoke breaks to his friendliness.
    • AniMat says the special sends the wrong message, and is teaching kids paranoia.
    • AniMat freaks out at the Eeyore costume when it first appears.
    • AniMat pointing out the one kid in the video to have common sense by not screaming when a stranger approaches them.
    • When a clip of a man in a car approaching two girls is shown, AniMat dubs over his dialouge by having him say "Hey kids, you wanna go and help me make Ren & Stimpy?"
    • AniMat is confused about why kids would take thistles from strangers. This causes him to make up a scenario of a man offering thistles to children.
    • AniMat noticing how out of character Eeyore and Rabbit are in the video, causing him to comment "Man, these definitely are strangers! This isn't freaking Winnie the Pooh at all!".
    • When Pooh asks what people do when they're alone at home, AniMat tells the viewers to watch a VHS of Home Alone.
    • When Owl says "Home alone", AniMat gets excited because he thinks Owl took his advice.
    • When Pooh says "private parts" for the first time, AniMat has a freakout and calls the video surreal for doing this.
    • AniMat loses it at the song about how to say no, claiming it's the video's theme song.
    • When Rabbit says "private parts", AniMat tells the characters to stop using that term.
    • AniMat compares Pooh talking about private parts to the Frozen girls talking about the menstrual cycle.
    • AniMat saying "Let's do it, but now with everyone's consent!" during the final musical number.
    • AniMat saying the balloon from the opening song that returned at the end was the only character who wasn't ruined by the video.
