Funny / Andy's Apple Farm

Go To

  • The in-universe game is bad on purpose because of the time period it was made and because Thomas Eastwood is implied to be a poor developer (one recording mentions he's had at least one flop on his hands and has trouble publishing his games).
  • Andy really has terrible friends, which is played for laughs a lot in the beginning.
    • When he goes out to say hello, they're eating... apples, and offer Andy, an anthropomorphic apple man, one. Somehow Andy's silence speaks volumes.
    • Claus tells Andy that the prize for beating the friends' game is a 'suprize' [sic] and Andy stops asking about what it is. Immediately after, Felix abruptly blurts out that they are the keys to Andy's house.
Y-You took the keys to my house?
    • In the Christmas Special, Andy's friends show up to celebrate the holiday with him. Claus brought presents, Margret is baking cookies, and Melody joyously wishes him happy holidays. And Felix?
      Felix: I'm just here man.
    • Andy offers to find something for Felix to do and offers to hang stockings with him. Felix expressing confusion about why Andy wants him to hang a sock in his very nasally (and rather flat) voice is snicker-worthy. Just like with Margret in the original game, clicking on him gets you a special dialogue:
Hey do I look like a sock man?
      • The minigame itself shows that Andy did all the work hanging the stockings and Felix just sat and watched.
    • Chapter 2 continues showcasing Andy's bad friends. When Andy returns, announcing he got his keys and out of the barn, They don't even try to hide that they didn't expect Andy to be able to manage finding his keys in the dark barn that they themselves shut him in.
  • Andy chasing Claus with an axe is undeniably creepy. But at the same time, the image of a tiny apple-man running after his clock friend with an axe in hand and a demented grin on his face is pretty hilarious. It gets even funnier if you interpret this as Andy getting sick of these games and just wanting his damn keys back. that said, what happens immediately after isn't as easy to laugh over.
  • During Margret's fruit picking minigame, you can click on her instead, and yes, that includes clicking her breasts. She'll even chide you, saying "That's not fruit!" and she disappears if you do it enough times, as if she got sick of Andy's libido and stormed off. It gets so much worse (and better) when you remember that these two are implied to actually be a divorced couple.
  • The voice acting is intentionally this, particularly.
    • Anything Felix says in his nasally voice.
    • "Hey that's not a fruit!"
  • No matter what you believe about Peter, his scariness is somewhat diminished by the fact that Andy is just now learning that a random guy has been just living in his barn.
Andy: Wait, how long have you been in here?
  • How Peter gets Andy to play tag with him.
Peter: You wanna play a game of tag?
Andy: No, I just want to find my keys!
  • There is a similar moment in the Christmas special right in the thick of horror, where Andy finds Peter has inserted himself into Andy's Christmas party.
Andy: How did you get in here?
Peter: [smiling and speaking casually] You need to learn to stop asking so many questions.
  • The Halloween Special has some good comedy to it as well:
    • The friends have found a supposedly haunted mansion, but it's locked, so Margret disappointedly suggests they go home.
Felix: Turn back? Naw, we're breaking in. I wanna see this place!
Andy: Felix, I don't think that's a good idea! We could be in big trouble!
Felix: Trouble, schmouble. I've done worse things before.
[beat as Andy stares at him with a smile plastered on his face]
    Andy: Y-You have?
    • And then Claus quickly changes the subject.
  • It's pretty Black Comedy how, before the Mood Whiplash kicks in, after recovering from whatever he and Melody saw in the basement, Felix happily says that "those bodies [...] were super realistic".
