Chapter I

  • When Monokuma was answering Kaito's question on whether or not Shuichi was really Rantaro's killer, it led to a Tongue Twister moment:
Monokuma: "Puhuhuhu, weeeell, I'm not saying he didn't do it either..."
Himiko: "So, he didn't not do it? Or he didn't not not do it? Or he didn't not not ''not'' do it...?"
Gonta: "W-wait, Himiko! Gonta confused. Shuichi not did not not knot kill—-"

Chapter II

  • Kokichi randomly crawling out from under the table during chapter 2's meeting.
  • Miu accusing Tsumugi of being the mastermind because she wears glasses.
  • Exploring the Pool Area: Angie pushes Miu into the pool, claiming Atua 'wanted to swim' with the inventor.
  • Exploring the Ultimate Maid's Lab: Kiibo admired Kirumi's determination and helpfulness to the others as a Maid. He requests that Kirumi teach him to become an Ultimate Robot Maid as a means of learning how to be 'more human'. This later results in him donning Kirumi's maid outfit from chapter 5 to chapter 7.
  • Exploring the Casino/Love Hotel: Tenko getting furious over Hotel Kumasutra, and announcing that the mastermind must be a male due to the fact that the place exists— as Tsumugi explores the casino next door.
  • Tenko starts panicking about leaving Himiko alone, but Kaede insists that she's with someone reliable, like Kirumi, only for Himiko to really be alone with Kokichi.
  • Exploring the Ultimate Magician's Lab: In attempt to get Kokichi off her back, Himiko suggests he take a look at the checkered door down the hall from her lab, to which Kokichi happily complies, and insists she go with him. He tries to pick the lock, and upon noticing that a spiral staircase lies behind it, comes face-to-face with a 'screaming Monokuma.' The duo ultimately end up getting 'detention' for opening an area before being permitted to.
  • Upon finding out that Kirumi is the Japanese Prime Minister, Miu and Kaede have an amusing conversation as to how they will approach the maid with their new-found knowledge at the very start of chapter 5.
    Kaede: "Okay, remember the plan?"
    Miu: "Hnnnngh... I r-really don't wanna do this…"
Kaede: "Well, we can't just hide from her, Miu, she lives with us."
Miu: "But she's the fuckin' Prime Minister, Kaediot! She's gonna murder all of our asses! Especially mine!"
Kaede: "No, she's not going to do that. She's not like that and you know it. And stop calling me 'Kaediot'!"
Miu: "Yeah, but we don't fucking know that, do we?! What if she already has a plan to nuke the shit outta the school! What if the reason she's brainwashing Kiibs is to get him to fucking blow himself up and scorch all of us to smithereens!?"
Kaede: "She's a Prime Minister, not a hypnotist. And I'm sure Kiibo doesn't even have those functions, considering his strength..."
Miu: "W-wait! What if she tries to grab both us by our pussies—"
    Kaede: "MIU!"
    Miu: "Hyeeeeeee!"
  • During the famed 'Insect Meet n' Greet' in chapter 5, Ryoma temporarily reverts back to 'Killer Tennis', knocking out students with tennis balls in a desperate attempt to help Gonta and Kokichi rally up the motive videos, so he that can find his own reason to live.
  • Kiibo runs to Kaede's rescue as she's collecting up the Kubs Pads, and when he realizes that Kaede is injured, offers her a piggy-back ride, despite his strength equaling that of an elderly citizen.
    Kiibo: "Please, ascend me, Kaede!"
Kaede: "What do you mean, ascend you!?"
    Kiibo: "Please hurry!"
  • As Gonta is about to catch up to them, Miu bursts out of the Shrine of Judgement in her underwear, spinning her skirt over her head, much like how she flashes Gonta in the canon game during the same event.
  • In chapter 6, while Kaede and Kaito visit Maki to give her Monokuma's new motive, Kaede and Maki get into an argument. When Kaito tries to rile them down, they both yell at him to shut up in unison.
  • During the investigation of Gonta's murder in chapter 7, Kaede and Miu walk in on Angie straddling Kokichi in Kirumi's research lab, to which Miu asks if they're "getting it on". It's later revealed that Angie was converting Kokichi into one of her Student Council members.]] Though much, much later on in chapter 15, it's revealed that Kokichi was only pretending to follow along with Angie the whole time.

Chapter III

  • Whilst exploring Korekiyo's research lab in chapter 13, Kokichi sneaks up on both Kaede and Kaito and scares the latter with a mask of Sparkling Justice/Kira-Kira from the second game.
  • In chapter 14, whilst talking about his sister, Maki cuts him off before he has a chance to divulge his relationship with her.
Kaede: "You guys must’ve been pretty close then, I guess."
Korekiyo: "But of course. Sister and I were all we’d ever had; She was my everything, and I hers. Because of her multitude of ailments, I did not merely serve as her younger brother, but her older brother too. And also her father, her best friend, her tutor, and even her—"
    Maki: "We get it. Continue."
  • When Rantaro re-appears at the end of chapter 15, the first thing he does is make a joke about his death.
Rantaro: "Heh, looks like a blow to the head really knocked some sense into me, huh?"
  • In chapter 16, after Kaede runs into the girl's bathroom in tears after coming face-to-face with Rantaro, he hears Angie coming to look for him. In a last-ditch attempt to escape her, he takes inspiration from Kaede's running away from him and ducks into the boy's bathroom before Angie sees him.
  • In chapter 17, Korekiyo, who's under the influence the despair disease, insists that Angie 'sew up' her uniform and conform to the traditional Japanese way of dressing.
  • Similarly, Himiko inherits Tenko's personality via the despair disease, tries to beat up some of the boys, and believes wholeheartedly that she is Tenko Chabashira, subsequently reopening fresh wounds for Kaede and the others.
  • During chapter 17, Kokichi scares Kaito into the corner of his dorm room by pretending to be a ghost with bedsheets. Shortly after, he also makes Kaede jump when she comes to check up on Kaito.
  • At the end of chapter 17, Kiibo appears out of the blue and takes Kaede's temperature by sticking his finger in her mouth without prior explanation.
  • During the Class Trial in chapter 20, Monokuma makes a joke about Monosuke's absence.
Monokuma: "You're tellin' me! We should really be keeping count of all these twists. Too bad none of you kids carry an abacus.
  • In chapter 21, similarly to the canon third chapter, it's revealed that Kaito hasn't been sick with the despair disease; but deathly afraid of the occult and ghosts namely Rantaro the entire time. This is why he didn't attend chapter 16's memorial service, any of his and Kaede's training sessions during the arc, and it is also the reason why Tsumugi found him passed out in the girl's bathroom in chapter 18; trying to hide from Rantaro, much like how he hides from Gonta in Chapter II of the actual game.
  • In chapter 23, Kaede tries to get Ryoma to play tennis with her, but to no avail. Having never played sports before, Kaede ends up missing the ball and throwing the tennis racket each time, and Ryoma eventually gives in and helps her out. Whether this was intentional on Kaede's part or not is unknown.
  • Later on in the chapter, Kirumi enters and Kaede requests that Kirumi and Ryoma play tennis together. Despite never playing tennis prior, Kirumi ends up winning due to Ryoma's hesitance to play tennis again.
  • Part of Miu and Kiibo's conversation in chapter 23.
    Miu: "I-it’s really long, Kiibo…"
    Kiibo: "Ahah, you think so?"
Miu: "Mhmm. I knew it’d be long, but I didn’t think it’d be this long…"
Kiibo: "W-well it (referring to his power cable for charging) is fifty-three metres in length, so that I am not completely limited whilst replenishing energy."
