  • The narrator's talking to the audience about Amélie wondering how many couples are having orgasms.
Narrator: Amélie still shelters in solitude and asks herself silly questions about the world or about this town. For example, how many couples are having an orgasm right now?
[Cue Sex Montage of fourteen separate immodest orgasms, one after another, with the fifteenth one being somewhere between a gasp and a squeak.]
Amélie: [with an Aside Glance] Fifteen!
    • It was this moment that gave the film an "R" rating, despite the rest of the film being rather tame for all audiences.
  • On the same page, Joseph and Georgette's Right Through the Wall moment. A visibly flustered Amélie has to turn the milk steamer to the max to cover Georgette's incredibly Immodest Orgasm... and it's still not quite enough.
  • Amélie plays practical jokes on Collignon for abusing his meek, good-natured assistant Lucien. She plays tricks on him like switching doorknobs on his bathroom door, swapping his toothpaste for foot cream, cutting one of his shoelaces, swapping his slippers for smaller ones, salting his whiskey, changing his light bulbs, and placing a pin on the cord of his lamp which causes him to scream like a little girl when he tries to plug it back in.
